LUCA'S POV

The damp air of the Toronto parking lot clung to the windows as I idly tapped my fingers against the steering wheel. I checked the dash clock for the third time in two minutes.

Right on schedule, the glass doors of the elite fitness centre slid open, and Sienna stepped out into the afternoon light.

I unhooked my seatbelt, pushed the door open, and stepped out onto the polished asphalt. By the time she reached the passenger side, I was already there, holding the door open for her.

RONAN'S POV The restroom was quiet, smelling faintly of antiseptic cleaner and expensive hand soap. Two other guys were standing by the mirrors, washing their hands and talking in low tones about the upcoming playoff schedule. I kept my head down, slipping into a stall, and waited until the door clicked shut behind them, leaving the room entirely empty.Or so I thought.I stepped out of the stall and walked over to the bank of sinks. As I turned on the tap, the door clicked open again.Luca walked in.He briefly looked just as surprised as I felt. But then he schooled his expression and headed straight for the adjacent sink, turning on the water without looking at me. The tension in the small tiled room grew instantly, thick enough to choke on.We stood side-by-side in absolute silence, the sound of the rushing water filling the quiet space. I watched Luca through the fog-streaked mirror. He was staring down at the basin, his hands braced against the marble counter, his chest risi

RONAN'S POV“I'm going to go get her,” Luca muttered, starting to push himself up from the plush leather of the booth.I pursed my lips as I stared at him across the small table, as I noticed the tightness in his jaw and his shoulders…everywhere. He was nervous, but why?Could it be because he was also feeling it? This tension between us?“Just text her,” I replied, waving a hand dismissively toward the center-piece candle. “She's only been gone for three minutes. Stop hovering.”“I'm not hovering, Calloway. I'm being a gentleman. Unlike you, apparently,” Luca shot back, his green eyes flashing with a sudden, sharp heat. “Also, you just made a good point about how it'd look if we're seen like this, without Sienna.”I let a slow, obnoxious grin spread across my face, loving the way his composure seemed rattled. “Well it doesn't matter, I don't really care about their narratives.”“Can you stop?” Luca hissed. “Stop always trying to get a rise out of me.”I shrugged, refusing to back dow

LUCA'S POVThe private dining room at Osteria Rialto was bathed in low, amber lighting, a stark contrast to the harsh, brightly lit corridors of Toronto General where I’d spent the last few hours having my shoulder poked and prodded. The restaurant was high-end, exclusive, and tucked away behind a discreet side alley in Little Italy.Sienna sat across from me in a plush leather booth, her phone resting face down on the table. We’d been here for twenty minutes, sipping sparkling water and maintaining a light conversation about her life as an influencer and a little bit of our childhood, when the soft click of shoes made me raise my head.Ronan had finally decided to grace us with his eminent presence. And he was dressed in a dark charcoal button-down, rolled up at the sleeves to expose his forearms. He slid into the booth beside Sienna without asking, his sharp jaw setting as his dark eyes locked onto mine.“You guys know there are paps outside right?” he asked by way of greeting, hi

By the time she reached the passenger side, I was already there, holding the door open for her.She offered a brief, surprised blink, sliding into the leather seat. “Thanks,” she murmured, pulling the belt across her chest and clicking it into place just as I slid back in behind the wheel.“Where are we going?” she asked, adjusting the strap of her bag over her shoulder.I pulled the gearshift down. “I thought your people would've told you already?”She shrugged, leaning her head back against the headrest. “They said I had to go with you to the hospital.”I nodded, keeping my eyes fixed on t

RONAN'S POV My publicist and the manager stared at me for a long moment, looking for any sign of a crack. When they thankfully found nothing, they grunted and sighed.“Whatever. That picture must not get out of this tight bubble. We need to tighten this shit up immediately. If this leaks to the press, it blows up everything.”“I'm already on it,” Dani replied, pulling her tablet out of her bag and tapping furiously against the screen. “We need to trace the source, but before that we must do something so we get ahead of it.”“Just for the record,” I said quietly, pushing off the counter. “I'm not doing a PR relationship, if that's what you're thinking.”Dani paused mid-tap and blinked at me. “Why not?”I shrugged, eyeing them individually before narrowing my eyes. “I'm not cut out for living a fake life. I can't fake a relationship, no matter what the management wants.”“That's fine for now," James and Dani responded in near-unison, cutting me off before I could launch into a full def

RONAN'S POV I was halfway down the stairs, still dressed in a loose t-shirt and sweats, when the sound of the doorbell echoed through my penthouse. First Theo, and now this. Why was everyone visiting me today?Suppressing a groan as I pushed the button to open the private elevator door, I eyed the man and woman standing in there.“I hope there's a really good reason for this surprising visit,” I muttered, turning and marching back into the living area and then the kitchen, my hands flying up in exasperation when I noticed they were following me.“Do you people not know how to use cellphones anymore? And the front door guy downstairs couldn't even ring up to let me know I had visitors,” I sighed, still feeling the irritation curdling in my chest. “I'll have to have a word with him soon about this. One day he might send an assassin up here.”Dani Okafor snorted as she marched straight past the kitchen island, followed closely by my manager, James, who for some reason, suddenly looked
