Noah

I really fucked up!

That thought keeps pinging around in my brain so long, I’m starting to feel dizzy. Or maybe that’s just a natural reaction to the total cluster I’ve made of my life. Dizziness, nausea, a general feeling of impending doom. That sounds about right. Either way, I’m screwed.

Because now that I’ve realized I’ve been fighting fire with fire, punishing Cassandra for what she did to me, hurting her the way she hurt me, instead of facing my feelings so I could heal and move on,

Thank you for the update! I’m definitely Team Jack. Noah sounds a bit dull and apologies for using this term, but “constipated” comes to mind.. It’s definitely time to pick up the pace a little, things are moving a bit too slowly at the moment!

Noah, you've done some serious damage. So, please don't play with Cassie's heart and mind. She's paid enough for her sins.

  • Pursuing My Rejected Luna   Ch. 69

Cassandra "What happened?" Jack asks when he reappears like clockwork for his afternoon visit. The part of me still ruled by my mate bond with Noah recoils from the idea of another male knowing me so well but the rest of me kinda loves that he does this—shows up at the office, invites himself in like he belongs there, and immediately reads my face.Normally, I’d delve right into whatever occupied my thoughts at the time, knowing he’s genuinely interested, which makes me feel special in ways I haven’t earned. But somehow, I don’t think my feelings about Noah’s inherent dismissal of anything and everything attached to me is something Jack should be subjected to."Nothing," I deflect. He looks at me for a moment. "Okay," he draws out the word in that tone that means he doesn't believe me but has decided not to push.He pulls the chair around to my side of the desk, as close as he can get, like being in my orbit is all he needs in life. He sits, takes out his phone and just stays.I try

Cassandra “Well, that’s not right.” I mutter, pouring over the documents spread out on my desk. I've been working on building a picture of the movements of Alpha Donovan Reeves for three weeks. Not because anyone asked me to, which is probably an issue in and of itself. But I am constitutionally incapable of looking at incomplete information and not completing it. It's probably a character flaw. It's how I noticed the timing correlation in the first place.“What’s not right?” I look up to find Jack leaning in the doorway, his arms crossed like he’s been there a while.“Hi, you.” I return his smile. “Uh, just something I’ve been working on. It’s not making any sense to me.”“What’ve you got so far? Maybe I can help.” He offers. “Okay.” I agree. “So, first I cross-referenced all eastern correspondence against the border incident reports and the council meeting schedule. I also got the patrol rotation logs going back four months, which is when the border attacks first began.“I remem

NoahLiam’s room is on my route at the end of the day. Well, I make it my route. Because what kind of coward avoids a four-year-old boy who looks up to you because of a little uncomfortable history with his mother?I find him sitting up in bed with his favorite book on his lap and a look of frustrated boredom on his face. He looks up when I come in. And the smile that spreads across his face has me feeling all kinds of ashamed."You came," he practically shouts, starting to climb out of the covers."Hey, now! No crawling out of bed. Are you trying to get me in trouble with Dr. Lukas?”“Sorry,” he pouts, “I hate staying in bed.”“I know, but it won’t be for much longer. How are you feeling?" I ask."Better." He considers this. "My body had a hard night," he adds, with all the authority of a pre-schooler who soaks up adults’ words like a sponge. "Dr. Lukas fixed it, though.""Of course she did. Dr. Lukas will always fix it when you need her to." I tell him.Cassandra is curled up in the

Dizziness, nausea, a general feeling of impending doom. That sounds about right. Either way, I’m screwed.Because now that I’ve realized I’ve been fighting fire with fire, punishing Cassandra for what she did to me, hurting her the way she hurt me, instead of facing my feelings so I could heal and move on, there’s no going back. And that means I’m going to have to talk about my feelings. With her. And what a disaster that’s going to be. Because apparently, I’m not all that in touch with my feelings. If I was, maybe I wouldn’t be in this colossal mess in the first place. I drop my head into my hands and groan. Because that thought is depressing as fuck.“So, how did it go?” The sound of Cole’s voice sends a jolt so violent through me, I nearly tumble out of my chair. “Based on the fact you look

Noah Talk about awkward. Walking into the office this morning is the first time I’ve seen Cassandra since spending the night with her in Liam’s hospital room. She looks up when I come in, wearing this expectant expression like things have miraculously changed between us and we’re suddenly on speaking terms now. Only, I have no idea what to say. No one else is around. I mean, where is Cole when I need him? If he were here I could pretend I have some urgent business to discuss, leaving me no time to interact with anyone else. But no, the asshole only appears when it’s convenient for him. This is Karma, the universe punishing me for the apology I’ve been holding for ransom. I've been working up to this since I snuck out of the medical wing at dawn before Cassandra woke up yesterday. No time like the present, I guess."I shouldn't have assumed," I spit it out before I lose my nerve. "With Liam. That you were using it."I don't sit down for this conversation. I'm not planning on staying

CassandraHaving finally managed to catnap now that I’m reassured Liam is recovering, I startle when my phone buzzes in my pocket. I fumble a few times before my fine motor skills come back on line and I manage to pull it out.Jack: Heard about Liam. Pack channels move fast. Is he okay? Do you need anything? An appreciative smile forms on my lips. We haven’t known each other all that long—the easy company of a few casual dates, some shared laughter and a kiss or two. It’s really sweet of him to check on us at all, let alone offer to help.Better this morning, I type. Thank you for asking. His response comes quickly: I’m so glad to hear that. I was worried. Thursday still on?Something that almost feels like butterflies flutter in my stomach.Yes, I type. I’m looking forward to itI put the phone down, still smiling to myself. Jack knew I had a son before he even asked me on that first date. But knowing something and actually becoming invested in it when a relationship is so new are tw

Skye Of all the futures I imagined for myself, I never dreamed one day I would have to choose between my husband and my unborn child. My hand trembles as I smooth down the front of my dress—a soft blue one that Jaxon once said he liked. SkyeThe rumors spread faster than I anticipated.Despite Jaxon's best efforts to contain the narrative—carefully worded statements to the elders, strategic conversations with influential pack members—the truth has a way of seeping through cracks. By the end of my first week back, everyone knows th

SkyeI press forward, though I'm not even sure which direction forward is anymore. At some point, my wolf stops talking. The silence inside me is worse than the howling wind.I'm alone now. Truly alone. Just me and the storm and the cold that's seeping into places I didn't know could go numb.I can

Skye Cassandra turns, and if I didn't know better, I'd think the guilt on her face was genuine. "Skye. I'm so sorry, this must look—""What is this?" I repeat, louder now.Jaxon moves past me, his expression hard. "It's temporary. Cassandra and Liam need a place to stay until we can arrange somethi
