Cheyenne’s POV
After I got home, I had been thinking more on this upcoming war that I was supposed to fight in and if I failed, it would mean the end for my kind. I decided to do some research on the past wars that greatly effected our kind as a whole with the help of Koa. She was actually very helpful and knew a lot about the history of our kind. Needless to say I was kind of surprised at how much she knew.
I was looking for patterns, who won and how they won and that's when I noticed the dates of each of the major wars. They were all exactly 150 years apart. Spaced out just enough that the stories could be past down but 1 werewolf wouldn’t have to live through 2 wars in the same life time.
“Well that’s weird…” I thought to myself, forgetting once again that I was not alone in my head anymore.
“What’s weird Dearie?” Koa’s smooth voice coming back in my head.
“All these wars. They are all right around 150 years apart. Granted
Cheyenne’s POV I decided I was skipping classes today and heading to the pack library to find out more about these famous wars. When I walked in, I saw the nice elderly lady from down the street. She smiles at me as I walk up to the counter. “Hello young lady. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you in here. What are we looking up today?” She asks with a smile on her face. She was always so sweet to us kids on the block. She was always baking cookies, pies, cakes, anything and everything for us, until we grew older and stopped going down to see her. “I’m working on a history project for school. I’m needing some information on some major wars that have happened. Can you point me in the right direction?” “I always told the kids that history always repeats itself and to pay attention. Gl
Mystery Guy POV Finding out the latest on the runt’s family had only left me with more questions. I had to find out the truth. It’s been a couple of days already and I still hadn’t heard anything from Ben yet so that only meant one of two things. Either A – it was a lot more complicated than we thought and he’s going to hand me a novel worth of paperwork or B – he was having a hard time finding anything on them. The runt wasn’t in class yesterday or today. I didn’t take her for type to skip class especially during midterm week. I saw her blonde headed friend that I had told to go with her to the hospital Friday night and Maddox was driving me crazy wanting me to fin
Cheyenne’s POV Ok, so in the last week alone, I find out that I’m allegedly “the chosen one” after having a private one-on-one meeting with Selene, the actual Moon Goddess herself, after I bashed my head trying to save one of the cheerleaders from being crushed by 3 ogre sized football players. I apparently already have my wolf, but I can only hear her at this point, and she wants me to train with some other pack to get stronger so we can shift and prepare for this alleged on coming war, BUT I have to do a shit ton of research to try and figure out who “they” are that are coming to attack us first so that way I can receive the “proper training”. Plus, the icing on the cake, there’s that mystery guy with those swirling bowls of honey for eyes. The kind that when you look into them, you just know everything is going to be just fine and you get all weak in the knees and… “BABYCAKES! COME DOWN HERE PLEASE!” I groan out loud to myself. Is she ever going t
Mystery Guy's POVBen and I had been combing threw every book we could, trying to find out what the creature was that Maddox chased across the territory the other night. We found creatures with red eyes and creatures that were abnormally large for wolves, but nothing with them combined. The best educated guess we could come up with was that these creatures bred and made hybrids, so we started compiling a list of everything these creatures were capable of. We needed to know if they were good or bad, but for me personally, I needed to know what they wanted with the runt.Ben had a couple other close calls with the runt and the restricted section in the library. Why was she not in school? I decided to keep an eye on her from a distance. Maddox was whining in my head because he just wanted to be near her, but until we knew what was going on, I couldn’t risk it. For all we knew, she could be this creature’s damn leader or some shit.Ben a
Mystery Guy's POVI woke up to my alarm going off. I rolled over, still half asleep, and shut it off. I laid there staring at the ceiling, thinking about all the things I had to do today. I had already talked to my professors and told them about a “family emergency” that had come up and they all agreed to let me turn my mid-terms in online. I already got those done and I was putting school on the back burner for now. I also talked to coach and told him the same story and told him I wasn’t sure if I would be back before the end of the season. I didn’t want to leave everybody hanging like that, but I never really wanted to go to school in the first place. I only went because that’s what dad wanted.Originally, I was set on hunting down the rogues that killed my mom, but now I needed to focus on the creatures that have started showing up, and what they were doing at the runt’s house. From what Ben and I could gather yes
Cheyenne's POVI had spent the day at the human library looking at old and new maps comparing the land plots trying to figure out today’s name for the locations of the 4 wars. Luckily my dad taught me how to read maps and what each symbol meant and how to measure the distance between cities and such. We spent a lot of time outdoors when I was little. Ty and I were always getting into trouble for “wondering around the woods” by ourselves.I was able to narrow down locations in somewhere in North America. In the picture I took the pennies I used as markers seemed close together like the wars would’ve taken place in the same region but the more I study these maps the more land it’s starting to cover. I was looking for some kind of pattern. Did the wars move in the same direction like start in the east and head west or visa-versa? Maybe I had the old map I took a picture of twisted, and I was looking at it wrong? From w
Mystery Guy's POV“Yo dude let’s go! Chop chop!” I yelled down the hall at Ben who was taking his sweet ass time getting ready.“Just a second dude! Got to comb my hair.”“Seriously?! We’re going to training not the bar!” I through my hands up and turned to walk away.“Hey you never know, what if she’s my mate?” Ben stepped out of the bathroom wiggling his eyebrows at me.“Then I feel sorry for her. Having to share a bathroom with another girl.” Ben took off after me and I sprinted down the hall laughing the whole way.“I’m going to kill you!” I could hear Ben calling out behind me. I just laughed and kept running out the front door and towards the training center.Just as we got to the front door of the center , I stopped and turned around and put my hands up in a stop motion to Ben. “You don&rsq
Mystery Guy’s POV“Did this person have red eyes?” Alpha asked.“Not that we saw, but we also weren’t getting close enough to see.” Ben stated while both of us shook our heads. “All we could really see was the outline of the person. They were dressed in all black and I think they might have even had a hat on but I’m not 100% sure on that one. But it was definitely a female voice.”Both our dads were staring at each other, and if I didn’t know any better, I would say that they were scared. I’ve never seen either of them act this way before. Not even with the few rogue attacks we’ve had. If anything, they almost looked excited for those, but this, this was different. What could possibly have them scared this bad? I needed answers. It was obvious that this involved the runt, and the damn mate bond was getting stronger, and the need to protect her was becoming overwhelming.
