Chapter 5— End of The World

Lila didn't go back to her rooftop house, it was almost dawn so she just drove towards the highway, stopping at some gas stations.

She moved the tanks into her house and only left a few behind. Lila made a mental note to get more fuel if she went to other cities in the future.

Or should I just go now?

Thinking that she still hadn't gotten cars yet, she decided to drive back to the largest car dealership in the city.

As Lila drove, she noticed the temperature drop a little, the sun had risen at this point but the weather was somewhat gloomy, like it was going to rain.

But Lila knew that wasn't the case. The apocalypse had begun.

Lila got closer to the city center. The road was now filled with overturned cars, smoke and people running in all directions.

A lady stood frozen as zombies moved towards her, she didn't dare to scream or run.

Tut Tut. Lila disliked people like this the most, they always end up relying on others since they can't do anything themselves.

The zombies finally bit into her skin, as she trashed trying to fight them off. It was too late. If she had ran she would have survived, because level one zombies aren't fast at all.

It could be seen from the way they moved, even a toddler walked faster than them.

“Save me.”

“Ahhhhh.”

Different voices all screaming the same thing.

Seeing that her car couldn't go further, Lila sighed as she parked it in a secluded spot, she picked a baseball bat and walked towards the car dealership.

Thankfully it wasn't far from where she parked her car. A man with a missing arm and bulging eyes came baring his teeth at her.

His teeth were protruding with blood all over his face. Looking at his greenish skin, Lila frowned in disgust and smashed his head with the bat.

She kept hitting the zombies that approached her on the head smashing their head to pieces, leaving them unable to get up again. She could have just used her fist, but it's better to be conspicuous.

Lila didn't want people clamouring for her to save them. She knew how people in the apocalypse were.

Once they find a slightly stronger person, they latch unto the person and make the person clear the way for them.

She wasn't scared of them, but why bring unnecessary trouble to herself?

She didn't notice the small group that were looking at her in amazement, they began mirroring her actions. Although they couldn't smash the zombies to pieces like she did, they made sure the zombies didn't get up again.

Lila was excited when the dealership came into view, she hurried over to the back door and smashed the lock with her fist.

She walked in slowly, arms folded behind her back as she hummed a tune. All the cars in here will be hers!

Suddenly she froze. It was still quite early, even if the staffs wanted to come to work they wouldn't have made it. So who were these people staring at her like she's here to eat them?.

Then she noticed their costumes and make up, with blood on their clothes and faces.

There were three young women, and four men. The women were hugging each other and crying, Lila recognized one of them as Rose, she was quite popular.

The men were scattered around and one of them seemed to be injured.

As she scanned the group, they also watched her every movement. Some were already in a defensive stance while the women cried harder.

“Who are — Are you normal?” One of the slightly older men asked with shaky voice.

They had been filming nearby when the director suddenly went crazy and bit the assistant, before they knew it, everywhere turned to chaos.

Luckily, One of the actresses uncle was the owner of this building and she knew how to get in, so they hid here to wait for the government to send people to rescue them.

Lila didn't answer his question instead she asked “Was he bitten?.” Pointing at the pale man with blood trailing down his arm.

“ Yes he was bitten, when we tried to escape earlier.”

“And you locked him in with you?” Were these people brainless?

“How can we just leave one of our own, because he was bitten?.” The man replied in disbelief while the others echoed his words.

“Didn't you see how people turned after getting bitten?.”

“But he hasn't turned yet, maybe he can hold on till the Government gets here, or we get him to the hospital.”

Lila “...” So they were waiting for him to turn?

Seeing that she couldn't reason with them, she wanted to leave first and come back when they're dead to steal the cars.

But considering that this was their first apocalypse and it's understandable that they were confused.

Lila said “Actually the zombies aren't that scary, just hit the back of their head with a hard object.”

“Zom— zombies?” They all looked at each other.

“Stop trying to cause panic, it's probably just a disease and the Government will take care of it soon.”

“You're asking us to kill someone? Did you kill people with that bat? We'll report you to the police once everything is settled.”

Lila “...” Does the Government know that you have so much faith in them?

Okay that's it. She wasn't a good person, she won't stay here and keep advising them.

As she made to turn around and leave, Mimi's voice came. This time serious “Host…don't turn around.”
