CHAPTER TWENTY SIX: BEST FRIENDS AND FAMILY ALWAYS

I took the time to get together with my friends for drinks. I hadn’t expected to do hunting. Not today. The last few months I had been bringing home men left and right. If I kept this up I would be looking for a different city to live in, and the true definition of hoe would be my name. I needed to pace myself. The best way was to keep myself busy. So dinner and drinks it was. Andre and Alisha could be great distractions, except when they were talking about their successful weekends.

“I met a guy,” Andre had started, his hands placed above the square table we occupied. He sat up straight, a tight smile on his round face and eyes rolling around as if he couldn’t believe that he had such a catch. Alisha and I were eager to hear the story. It wasn’t very often that Andre was open to sharing his romantic life, he just seemed to live through ours. “He’s a good guy.”
