Eva's POV

Livia's face was as pale as a ghost. The reporters quickly started to record, watching both Livia and I. They were murmuring and jotting down things, not wanting to miss any valuable information.

“That’s enough.” His voice cut through the murmurs, firm and commanding in a way that immediately demanded attention, the kind of tone he used when he wanted control reestablished without question. “Everyone out.”

There was hesitation at first, a brief pause where no one seemed quite willing

Eva's POV “No.”Dad didn’t react immediately. For a moment, he just stared at me, like he hadn’t heard me correctly, like the idea of me refusing hadn’t even crossed his mind as a possibility. “What did you just say?” he growled.“I said no.” I met his gaze fully, my voice steady, unyielding. “I’m not taking the fall for something I didn’t do.”His expression darkened completely now, whatever restraint he had left slipping away as his anger surged forward. “You don’t have a choice.” he snapped at me.“I do.” I didn’t raise my voice. “And I’m making it.”“Don’t be foolish.” His voice dropped lower. “This isn’t about what you want. It’s about what needs to be done.”"I’m telling you that it’s no longer possible.” I replied again.“What do you mean it’s not possible?” His brows drew together slightly, irritation flaring again as he tried to regain control of the conversation. “Everything is possible if handled correctly.”“Not this.” I shook my head faintly, letting a small breath leave

  • REBIRTH: I married the devil himself   Chapter 15

Eva's POV I got in the car and headed home. The moment the mansion came into view, I stiffened, remembering what had happened the last time I was here. I couldn't help but look towards the direction of the garden where I had caught Livia and Adrian in my former life. It was a bitter memory. I swallowed hard and looked away, trying to push the thought out of my mind. The driver stopped at the front entrance, stepping out immediately to open the door for me, his expression carefully neutral as I stepped onto the polished stone, the cool air brushing faintly against my skin. “Miss Eva.” His voice was polite but I didn't answer.Instead, I walked forward, my steps steady, unhurried, my gaze fixed ahead as the doors opened before I could reach for them. The busy staffs that were hurrying around to get things done paused to bow respectfully to me on seeing me.I stepped past them without a word, waking towards where I knew my parents were. I couldn't help but think about what Livia had rev

Eva's POV Nora eventually had a change of plan and demanded to meet me today which I agreed to. It was just the same as she had done in my previous life. She had chosen the place carefully, of course. It was a small café tucked just far enough from the main road.I spotted her almost immediately, seated near the corner, her posture relaxed but her gaze alert, scanning every person who walked in. The moment her eyes landed on me, something in her expression shifted as she straightened, a welcoming smile already forming as I approached.“Eva.” She stood quickly, her voice warm, almost relieved, as though she had been genuinely worried. “You look… fine.”I let a faint, tired smile touch my lips as I stopped in front of her, giving just enough to acknowledge the observation without leaning into it too much. “I didn’t say I wasn’t.” I shrugged at her.Her eyes searched my face more carefully now, scanning for cracks, for signs that something had gone wrong in a way she could still use.“I

Eva's POV I picked up my things and left the hotel, getting into a cab. I leaned back slightly against the seat, my gaze drifting outward, though I wasn’t really looking at anything. My mind was elsewhere. I couldn't stop thinking of everything that just happened, A faint, humorless smile touched my lips before fading just as quickly. My phone suddenly buzzed in my hand, pulling me out of my thoughts. I glanced down absentmindedly at first, expecting something trivial, something I could ignore until later, but the moment I saw the name on the screen, something in me stilled.Nora.For a second, I didn’t move. Because of all the people I expected to hear from tonight, she wasn’t one of them. My fingers tightened slightly around the phone, the faint vibration continuing against my palm, insistent, persistent, as if the device itself was urging me to respond.Slowly, I exhaled and then I answered.“Eva!” Her voice came through immediately. “Finally, you picked up. I’ve been trying to re

Eva’s POVLivia glared at me, looking furious at my words. I fought the urge to smirk. That was a fact that she had been unwilling to accept, that I had a better body than she could ever dream of. The tension in the room was rising but then we heard a knock on the door.Every head turned toward the door almost instantly, and before anyone could speak, it opened to reveal a uniformed officer stepping inside“What’s going on here?” His gaze swept across the room quickly, taking in the state of it, the disarray, the tension, the unconscious man still lying on the bed, and whatever he saw was enough to make his expression harden slightly. “We received a report of a disturbance.”For a brief moment, no one answered, then Livia moved. Of course she did. She stepped forward just enough to draw attention, her posture shifting seamlessly back into that fragile, shaken version of herself, her fingers curling slightly at her sides as though she was still trying to steady herself.“I… I didn’t me

Eva's POV The silence that followed my question didn’t break immediately, and that alone told me everything I needed to know.Adrian stood there, caught in the middle of it all, his gaze shifting between Livia and me. For the first time since I had known him, he hesitated and that hesitation was everything.Livia felt it too. I saw it in the way her fingers tightened around his arm, the way her posture straightened just slightly despite the trembling act she had been maintaining, the way her gaze sharpened for a brief second as it flicked toward me before returning to him. She wasn’t as fragile as she looked, not even close, and beneath the soft facade she was already calculating, already adjusting, already trying to pull him back to her side before the moment slipped too far.“Adrian…” Her voice came out softer now, quieter, threaded with something pleading as she leaned into him just a little more. “I didn’t mean to cause trouble, I just… I didn’t know who else to rely on.”She sai

Eva's POV The scream cut through the room so sharply it felt like it tore the air in half. Heads snapped toward the source, the murmurs rising instantly, louder, more frantic, the energy in the room transforming from tense anticipation into something chaotic and hungry.Adrian reacted quickly but

Eva's POV “What are you doing here?” Adrian growled at me. His eyes searched my face, like he was trying to piece something together that didn’t quite fit. “Do you have any idea what kind of situation this looks like?”I leaned lightly against the doorframe, letting a faint crease form between my

Eva's POV "I saved you and I want my reward" I said to him confidently, wanting him to understand that he was indebted to me. At that point, the look of suspicion on his face was changed to a look of amusement. Ethan leaned back just enough to give me space, though not enough to suggest he truste
