I mustered up my courage and walked up to him.

“So, you requested to see me. What do you want to see me for? I am all ears.”

“I actually agreed at the last minute to do what you wanted me to do back then, but the guard decided not to allow me out of the drum.”

I had also planned that I would use the guard’s hatred towards me to my advantage. After all, the wicked go down.

“So, what you are saying is that he intentionally left you to die.” Valon tried to make sense of what I had just said to him.

“That’s correct.” I affirmed, trying to maintain how fast my heart was beating.

I wouldn’t want him to be suspicious of my moves.

“Well, I do not believe you. If I have to believe you, then I will need evidence.” He replied as he clasped his fingers and rested his chin on them.

“What evidence do you need? Because I am certain that you will get evidence. I know he hates me and wants to get rid of me.”

“The only way I can get my evidence of what you claimed is if I make him your
