Seven

JANA’S POV

“Hello everyone, I am Melissa and I am the new recruit.” I greeted everyone with a bright smile on my face.

“You are welcome. I am Dana, the head of this team. We have Alicia, Edward, Corey and Britney who are a part of this team.” Dana introduced them to me and they all came to me to give me a handshake. 

“So, I am certain you know your work as a fashion designer and that is the same thing we do here, but we have to make sure that we stand out, so that we can beat the other team. And then we would be able to get recognition and be trusted more for trendy outfits, okay?” Dana explained, briefly as she put her hands on her waist.

Looking at her, I could tell her that she had a good fashion sense, even if it was not one that made people think she is gifted or sort, but I admired her and the way she spoke. Being in one of the best companies and meeting cool colleagues, got me stoked.

“Alicia and Edward are in charge of street wears, and with your portfolio, I can see that you are capable of making elegant wears, which is quite perfect, so you will become Britney’s partner, you and Britney will make both elegant and gothic wears and then Corey and I are in charge of making the clothes come into a reality.”

“I do not really understand the last part.” I said, trying to understand what she meant.

‘It means your hands are going to be off the needle. You will be creative in your specialty, draw those designs and then create a miniature sample on a little doll, then Corey and I will make the bigger one, which is turning them into reality.” She explained further and exhaled.

“Oh! I understand better, now.” I said, fiddling with my fingers.

“Alright, so that’s your desk over there. Britney will send the files you need, over to your computer.” She added, then went back to her desk and continued working on her computer.

“Hey.” Britney rolled over to my desk, with her seat.

“Hi.” I gave her a bright smile.

“You do not have to worry about how our boss gave you work as soon as you got here, without even familiarizing in the best way, that’s how she is and we are used to that, but trust me, she is cool.” Britney winked, then gave me a flash.

I knew just what to do with the flash, so I didn’t have to ask questions. Then I got a text message on my phone, it was from the company, which read:

“All new recruits are to come over to the conference room during their break. Thank you.”

 I wondered if everyone in the company usually had their break during the same time, but that could be possible and could be one of the reasons they are unified and bring out the best results.

I started working on my first project which was an elegant wear, I had to think of how I wanted the dress to be and I got a few ideas, which I wrote down in my diary.

When it was break, I headed to the conference room, with directions from Britney. When I got there, I noticed that there were up to eight people who were certainly in different categories. Then a man joined us and called our attention.

“Hello everyone, I hope you all are good? I am certain that we all are wondering why we are having a meeting with the CEO. Well, the CEO prefers to have a one on one discussion with his new recruits, that is how it is.” He said, with a smile on his face.

I was beginning to see a few things that made Stefan’s Design Company, stand out. Seeing his recruits could make him know the kind of people they have employed into the company.

A minute later, the CEO entered and to my shock, it was the pervert I met the other day. Could he really be the CEO of this amazing company? That’s when it came back to my memory, he introduced himself as Stefan, but how was I suppose to know he was the one.

What surprised me more was that he was staring at me as he sat on his chair. It was spooky and I was beginning to wonder If he was a pervert CEO. I shrugged off the thought and tried to look away and try my best not to look at him anymore.

“Good day, all of you. I am certain that my secretary has explained why you are here. So, I will not need to go back on that. Now, I want you all to congratulate yourself for being able to get into this company.” He said and then we all clapped ourselves.

People were smiling, but I was smiling awkwardly, because I could feel his gaze, fixed on me.

Work was really nice today, except for the fact that the pervert had to be the CEO of my most desired company. Since he was the CEO, it was impossible to see or bump into him every day, so it was safe.

“I’ll be leaving work, earlier than usual. Take care.” Dana said, then took her bag and walked out of the office.

“I think it is time we move on to that restaurant, to celebrate Melissa’s welcome.” Britney suggested, with a party mood.

Everyone agreed and it only made me excited, because they were all good to me.

“I’ll be right back. I want to use the restroom, first.” I excused myself, then went to the female toilet.

After using the restroom, I made to wash my hands only to notice that there was a presence here, it felt so awkward. It didn’t feel like a man’s presence and I didn’t know how I felt that was true.

“W..who is there?” I said, in a fearful tone.

Then I began to hear footsteps sounding louder and louder as it came close.
