My heart was pounding in my chest as we squeezed through the narrow gap, and I couldn't help but feel relieved when we emerged on the other side.
"Are we safe?" I asked, looking around cautiously.
Rowland nodded, a small smile on his face.
"For now," he said. "But we need to keep moving."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm my racing heart. We were in the middle of a dangerous situation.

We had been getting closer over the past few weeks, and I thought that we were finally ready to take the next step in our relationship. But then I saw the fear in her eyes as she stared back at me. And as much as I wanted to reach out and comfort her, I could sense that something was deeply wrong. The next thing I knew, Freya was backing away from me, panting heavily, as if she had just run a marathon.
