“What’s going on here?”

I turned around as Mira walked in. Behind her was Elena, following with a curious look on her face.

“Wow, what is it this time? You never stop causing controversy, Bella!” she exclaimed. Her arms were crossed over her chest, and she glared at me with an annoyed expression.

I completely ignored her, turning to look at Mira, who was shocked by what she saw.

“Bella, what’s wrong, sweetie? Why did you throw away all your favorite collectible dolls? They’re still brand new—they were a gift from Mom. You said you loved them so much—why did you throw them away?” Mira asked again.

I exhaled softly, rubbing my temples, which ached. “I don’t like any of them, so I threw them away.”

“You don’t like them? Why? Didn’t you want to be a Barbie? Didn’t you want to be beautiful and graceful so Varo would like you?”

I shook my head slowly. I felt like this Bella was becoming a fool because of the people in this house. How could someone who’s twenty years old still be playing with Barbie dolls? And want to be Barbie? Hey, Bella isn’t a kindergartener—it’s impossible for her to naturally have thoughts like that. No wonder Alvaro hates her.

Well, even if he does hate her, that’s none of my business. Because my goal isn’t to get married or get tied down to a guy.

I have to get revenge on David and his mistress using Bella’s body. So, I have to take care of her as best as I can.

“I don’t like it right now, so please get rid of all of it.”

Mira came closer and stroked my back. From the look in her eyes, it seemed like she was pondering my change in attitude.

“I just feel dizzy with all these colors. I want everything changed too—I want it all white,” I said again.

“Oh, I see… all right. Mom will take care of that for you later. In that case, you have to eat and take your medicine, okay, so you’ll get well,” she said. She waved her hand to signal the waitress to come over and hand her the tray she was carrying.

I stared at the newly opened tray with a furrowed brow. Didn’t the doctor recommend that I eat healthy, nutritious food? But what is this? How on earth did I end up with a bowl of noodles topped with all kinds of sausages? What is this nonsense? Is Mira really a wolf in sheep’s clothing? Is she the one who actually wants Bella to die a slow death?

“Why? Isn’t this your favorite food? You usually eat noodles like this every day—breakfast, lunch, and dinner too,” she said when she saw I wasn’t welcoming it with enthusiasm.

It’s crazy to eat like this every day—no wonder Bella is obese. No wonder she has heart disease, because everything in her life is unhealthy.

“I’m not hungry yet, Mom. I’ll eat later,” I declined politely.

“But you haven’t eaten anything since this morning. Eat up, and then take your medicine,” she said, pointing to two green capsules.

I stared at the capsules. While I was in the hospital yesterday, I never took medicine like that. But why is Mira giving me something like this now?

What kind of medicine is this, anyway?

“These are your vitamins. The doctor said you have to take them every day so your body stays healthy and heals quickly,” she said again.

“Can you just put them over there? I’ll take them later, and I’ll take the medicine later too. My head is spinning right now, and I really want to sleep,” I said, making an excuse so they’d all leave.

“Are you sick? Oh my God, I’m so sorry I didn’t notice the look on your face, sweetie. Okay, just get some rest. I’ll put your food on the table; make sure you finish it all, okay? And don’t forget to take your vitamins,” she said, then guided me to the bed. She asked the maid to bring all the Barbie dolls I’d thrown away earlier, then pulled Elena’s hand—who was standing there staring at me suspiciously.

After they left, I didn’t close my eyes right away. I got up again and locked the door.

Then, I picked up the capsule and examined it closely. It looked familiar...

“Appetite-boosting vitamins?” I muttered when I noticed the drug logo on the capsule.

So Bella is fat because she’s always been given these vitamins? This house is full of crazy people!

Today I was finally allowed to go home. Since I regained consciousness, I’d been in the hospital for about two weeks—one week in a coma and one week after waking up.Alvaro, that handsome but cold man, didn’t come to visit me again.I didn’t care either. Even if this wedding were called off, I wouldn’t mind. Because with Bella’s body, I’m going to change everything.I won’t let Bella be looked down upon. A chubby body—why not? Bella is beautiful, but it seems I need to adopt a healthier lifestyle. I don’t want to die twice before I’ve settled all my scores. And Bella’s father—I don’t know what he does for a living because, according to Mira, he’s still out of town on business.Elena—she’s always here, but her face shows her disdain. She’s just showing off, bragging about her life at college, and constantly belittling Bella for not continuing her education. The car pulled up right in front of a luxurious house. Turns out Bella is the daughter of a wealthy family, too. That made me curi

“Don’t talk like that, Elena. After all, Bella is your older sister; you have to respect her.”“Ugh, Mom’s stepsister! I’m embarrassed to have a sister like her. Did Mom forget that back in school she embarrassed us by almost failing to graduate? And to top it off, she actually asked to marry Alvaro. That’s crazy, right?”I just stayed silent, listening to the conversation between the mother and daughter. From that, I pieced together one fact: the middle-aged woman named Mira was Bella’s stepmother, and Elena was her stepsister. No wonder her gaze toward Bella was anything but sincere.“Don’t be like that. After all, she’s my daughter; I’m still proud of Bella. As for marrying Alvaro, I’ll discuss this with her father. Hopefully, I can arrange for you to marry Alvaro,” she said, looking in my direction. “You still want to marry Alvaro, right, Bella?”I stayed silent, unsure of what to say. I also didn’t know what Alvaro looked like. Was he a fat guy too, or…?Ah, I didn’t want to thin

“Don’t talk to her too much just yet—let me examine her first,” interrupted the doctor, who had just arrived and was approaching with the nurse from earlier.I remained motionless, staring at these strangers. Why were they calling me Bella?Who is Bella?“Look at me,” the doctor instructed me, then asked me to open my mouth, and pulled out a glowing object that looked like a small flashlight to examine my eyes.He nodded his head; it seemed the results of the examination were what he expected. Next to him, the nurse was writing down everything the doctor said—things I didn’t understand at all.“How are you feeling?” the doctor asked again.“I’m… I’m fine,” I said softly.“Thank goodness. You’ve been here for a week, Bella. Your heart is weak. From now on, you need to be even more careful.”My heart is weak? Since when have I had a heart condition? I’ve always been healthy—I’m just a fool for loving David. And why is this doctor calling me Bella? Who is this Bella? Why is everyone here

My body froze at those words. Even if I survived, I would surely be severely disabled.“Why? Are you scared, Amora?” Lidia asked with a condescending laugh.I held my ground, even though I was actually afraid. Given what she’d already done to me, I was sure she was capable of anything. And pushing me off this floor… she would definitely do it.“No! Because I won’t die. Even if I die, I’ll come back! I’ll make you suffer. I’ll make you forget that I’m Amora—the one who can do anything!”David and Lidia burst out laughing, as if what I’d said was nothing but a joke. Then they exchanged glances, as if signaling each other. After that, David came closer and pulled my hand forcefully toward the window. I tried to hold on, but his pull was so strong that we ended up outside—on the balcony. The place I’d once built to gaze at the view when I felt exhausted from all the work. And this, my most comfortable place, would bear witness to how my husband and his mistress would kill me.“Don’t you w

Out of curiosity, I immediately pushed open the door. Instantly, I dropped the cake I was carrying—a cake I’d baked myself with all my love.My chest felt tight. My body trembled the moment I saw David.Yes, my husband, whom I love so dearly. My husband, who is the center of my world. My husband, whom I’d always believed to be faithful. He was completely naked, not a single thread on his body. And on the table, there was a woman who was also topless, her legs spread wide apart. Her skirt was still draped around her waist. Seeing that, a wave of nausea hit me. How could David, in full possession of his senses, be having sex with another woman? And he was doing it in the office.“David, she knows...”I stared in disbelief as I realized who that woman was. Lidia. The woman who was my confidante, my best friend—the one I’d helped get hired at the company and eventually become David’s secretary.I stood frozen, staring at them with a look of disgust. Hoping David would apologize, beg for
