“And? Is that enough?” Elena’s hands shook as she blinked and waited for the detective’s response.

When Detective George and the NYPD had reached out to her after the interview about her case, she had been heavily skeptical. Explaining plainly that she wanted nothing to do with them but Marco had calmed her down and simply convinced her to change her mind.

Weeks later, sitting across from the detective in her fancy dress and heels, she felt nothing but gratitude. To Marco for convincing her and to the police for caring enough to help.

“Yes,” The detective tapped his laptop to pause the video and stared at her intently. “I don’t know what you did to get your hands on this video but you just turned this entire case,”

Elena let out a heavy breath she didn’t realize she had been holding. “S..she can get tried?”

“Yes,” The detective gave a nod. “She’ll be tried for murder and attempted murder, seeing as the original recipient of the attack was you. Your sister was just the victim,”
