Evie had no impression nor recollection of the mentioned event. She sighed heavily, realizing that more and more things were missing from her memory. It was frustrating. She now had a hunch that maybe, in that abyss where she inherited the kaleidoscope of memories, there was a series of recollections that she had missed.

Or the fragments of memories were taken as payment for her rebirth just as Dr. Carl Jensen had suggested…

Either way, at this point, instead of her worry worsening, she was feeling more like giving up on ever regaining the lost memories. She felt that she would have more trouble if she focused too much on those. If she did not really get them back after hoping and waiting so much, then that would have just wasted her time and feelings.
