Evie smiled sheepishly as everyone’s attention was on her. Well, what else could she say in this situation? None. She just decided to stay quiet and go with the flow. At least with a reason out in the open, she didn’t have to explain anything to anyone or be mindful of her actions.
“Are we clear?” the teacher asked and everybody good-naturedly agreed.
The teacher then switched the discussion to the upcoming grade-wide review. After giving them some pointers and the schedule for the review, homeroom ended. Before leaving the room, Kelly Frasier asked Evie to follow her to her office.
Evie had no idea why she was asked to go, but she did as she was told. As she stepped out of the classroom, the other students who had finished homeroom and were scattered in the corridors looked at her curiously.
