Daniel walked for another block before slowing down. Something bothered him.

He stopped beneath the shadow of an old commercial building and looked back toward the direction of the hospital. The police sirens were still audible, growing louder as more patrol cars converged on St. Jude's.

Somewhere behind those walls, investigators would soon be turning the hospital inside out, trying to understand how four armed men had managed to launch an attack in broad daylight.

  • RED LABEL   Boardroom

Nobody stayed close to Evelyn as she entered. He decided against entering the boardroom himself, changing his mind about looking inside. Mainly, he didn't want to meet Richie Holloway again and stir up another one of his dramas.Richie's shenanigans didn't bother him—he was completely immune to insults. Instead, he worried about how the board member might interpret seeing him there, given his professional role as Evelyn's bodyguard.Considering all these, he simple decided to wait outsude the boardroom. And watch. This time, everything he noticed was new information. He had barely seen the executive-floor security arrangement yesterday, but had never observed how employees approached her in person except her secretary, never seen which doors opened automatically and which required credentials. He didn't assume anything. He simply took note. Mental note. Before she entered the boardroom, Evelyn exchanged a brief greeting with one of the security officers at the boardroom lobby.Nobody

  • RED LABEL   That Face

Evelyn looked at her Chief Financial Officer, and then, to Richie's absolute astonishment, she let out a bright, genuine laugh."Do you know who that man is, Richie?" she asked, her eyes gleaming with suppressed amusement."I don't care whoever the hell he is!" Richie sneered, smoothing his jacket with trembling fingers. "He belongs in a ditch, not an executive suite! And he was unbelievably rude to me!" Nobody stood quietly by the doorway, his tone entirely dry and polite. "Look who's talking."Richie spun around, pointing a finger at Nobody's face. "Shut up, punk! Don't you dare talk while I'm talking. I'm going to have you arrested for assaulting to god-tier staff of Redstone Global. This moment!" "God-tier staff?" Nobody scoffed. "Oh, please.""You'll soon see." Richie brought out his eight-hundred and fifty-fifty thousand dollars satelite phone to make a call. "You'll do no such thing, Richie. Perhaps I didn't introduce him properly. He's the man that rescued me from the kidna

  • RED LABEL   Nobody Meets Richie Holloway

By the following morning, Evelyn had discovered that there was a considerable difference between having Nobody around and having Nobody actually working around her.The first was something she was gradually becoming comfortable with. The second was already beginning to test her patience. She noticed it before they had even left her home-office.Nobody stood near the sitting-room window with the same quiet attention he seemed to give everything around him. He had spent the night there after Evelyn had insisted that he stay rather than return to whatever temporary arrangement he had been using before his employment became official. She had expected him to argue. Instead, after a brief discussion, he had accepted the sofa in the sitting room without making the matter more complicated than it needed to be. She had told him that she would deal with his accommodation in the morning. Now morning had arrived. Evelyn came out of her bedroom dressed for work and found him already awake."You ac

  • RED LABEL   Stop Digging

The rain over the Ironworks District had turned to a fine, cold mist, sticking to the soot-stained brick of the surrounding warehouses.Across from the abandoned railyard, Kane leaned against the rusted iron frame of an elevated water tower, his body motionless beneath a dark parka. Through the high-magnification lens of his tactical scope, he maintained a steady lock on Detective Richard Denkley’s vehicle—a battered, unmarked sedan parked two blocks down from an old municipal water treatment office.Kane didn't adjust his grip. He didn't blink. But his thumb tapped once against the side of his frame, a rhythmic, subconscious habit when a pattern failed to align."Cross," Kane murmured into his comms."Speak," Cross replied, his voice a low, steady hum over the encrypted frequency. He was positioned three streets back, parked inside a delivery van, monitoring the broader traffic grids."The secondary element," Kane said, his tone devoid of emotion. "They're deviating.""How so?""The

  • RED LABEL   More Dangerous than Financial Trust

Most security consultants she had dealt with over the years were eager to fabricate immediate threats to justify their retainers, presenting laundry lists of panicked changes on day one. His restraint was a stark, quiet contrast."That is... remarkably sensible," she admitted softly."I have my moments.""Don't ruin it by making a habit of it," she quipped, though her eyes remained warm. They resumed walking toward her corner suite. "So," she asked, holding her file folder against her chest, "what does the rest of your day look like?""More of the same. I learn.""Learn what, precisely?""Your physical environment. Your daily schedule. The key people who have unvetted access to your time. The places you move through when you aren't thinking about safety."Evelyn let out a long, quiet sigh, though there was no real annoyance behind it. "You really are going to dissect every single aspect of my life, aren't you?""Only the aspects that carry risk.""And who determines what constitutes a

  • RED LABEL   Nobody's Second Day in Office

Nobody allowed a slight smile to surface. "I'll make a conscious effort to control my expression.""Thank you."By the time they pulled into the subterranean garage at Redstone, the daily corporate machinery was already moving at full speed.Employees crossed the vast, marble-tiled lobby in steady streams, visitors queued at the security turnstiles, and uniformed guards monitored the glass barriers with the practiced efficiency of a multinational firm.Nobody walked half a step behind Evelyn as they entered the building. He didn't hover, nor did he make a show of shielding her body. He simply moved with a quiet, fluid awareness, his eyes continuously tracking the environment.Every detail was new raw data. He had never walked through Redstone beside Evelyn before; he had never seen how the executive floor filtered traffic, how staff members approached her in public spaces, or which electronic doors swung open on sight and which required high-clearance keycards. At the private executiv
