2. The night club

Killian’s POV

As if by luck, I see bright flickering lights just ahead of me, it’s definitely a nightclub. But with the drawings on the top of the door, I think it’s more than a nightclub. I think that is what I need right now, the pain I am feeling is unmeasurable. My heart is totally broken into a million pieces and I don’t think that it will ever mend. How could she do this to me, why? Am I that horrible?

She shattered all my dreams, I am just a shell of my former self? I feel so useless, I am just a stupid Alpha to be. If my own mate could reject me, then who else can respect me. I don’t even think I will take up the Alpha role. I just can’t.

I wipe a tear that is forming from my eyes before parking my car. I take off my coat and place it at the back of the car. I leave my phone in the car too, I don’t want anyone disturbing me tonight. I take my wallet instead, making sure that I have all the cash I will need. I also make sure that I have my credit cards with me. Because I want to get wasted tonight, I don’t want to feel this pain anymore. I get off the car, I contemplate on whether to get in or not. Am I even ready for that, I don’t even want to see or speak to anyone? But in order to get wasted, the only place will be here. So, I just close my eyes for a while, take a deep breath and I head inside.

“Identification sir.” A huge guy at the door says to me. Without a word, I just hand him my ID, he stares at it and then to me for a while before handing it to me. I proceed inside, the lighting is good, I smile a little because I wouldn’t be bothered by anyone.

“Where will you sit sir?” a blonde waitress walks right before me, taking me by surprise. She ogles me for a while before licking her lower lip seductively. I know she thinks I can’t see her properly due to the blue flickering lights, but due to my werewolf eyesight, I can see that she wants me. I don’t even want any woman before me right now, all I want is for Trisha to reconsider her decision. “You look like a VIP, sir. Come, I will show you where to sit, sir.” She says leading me to a certain direction. I follow her behind, I notice how she is swaying her hips. Her skirt is so short that without any attempt I could see whatever is underneath. But I look away because I am not even interested. She takes me to an empty private room, there are two couches and a table in between the couches. The lighting here is even dimmer than the clubs’ hall area, and it’s not flickering. She gestures for me to sit, and I do.

“Welcome sir, what will you have.” She asks, smiling.

“Bring the best whiskey you have.” I say.

“It’s quite expensive sir.” She says, placing her index finger in her mouth while swaying her body slightly.

“Did you hear me complaining about money?” I ask in a slightly higher tone. She widens her eyes, I think she notices that I don’t care about her attempts to seduce me.

“I will be right back, sir.” She says with a rather disappointed tone. She exits the small room. The music is booming in the clubs’ hall. I am sure people cannot even communicate with ease.

Within a short while she comes back with a bottle of whiskey and a small glass in a tray, and she places them on the table.

“Would you like company, sir.”? She asks. I just look at her for a while, why is she trying to annoy me? I decide not to answer her question.

“How will I contact a waitress if I need another drink?” I ask instead.

“There is a buzz button under the table and when you do a waitress will be right here with you.” She answers.

“You can go now.” I dismiss her. She walks away, cursing under her breath. I know she must be feeling so angry at me right now. But I don’t even care.

I pour some whiskey in the glass and gulp it down in one go. I take another and another, I start feeling so lightheaded. And I also start feeling so sad all of a sudden.

I just want my Trisha. I accepted her rejection, yes, but I think it was a very bad decision. I could have been a little patient, maybe she was caught by surprise finding out that we were actually mates.

“Trisha, why? Why did you reject me?” I start mopping, tears are now falling off my face. I feel as if my tie is chocking me, so I remove it and throw it away. I notice that my bottle is finished, so I press the buzz button. Another waitress comes in and I place my order. I hand her the money for the first bottle as well. She brings another bottle and I gulp it down without even using a glass.

As the intoxication kicks in, the more I feel horrible. But I thought it would help me, instead, it’s making me worse.

“Trishaaaaaa.” I call out. Her words are ringing in my mind so loudly now and on repeat mode. I feel my heart being ripped apart over and over again. I cannot take it anymore.

“Hey sir, are you okay.” A beautiful woman’s voice asks in a concerned tone. I try to open my eyes, but I cannot see well. My vision is so blurred, I can only see a figure of a lady, I can tell it’s a lady because of the long hair. I think it’s because of all the whiskey I have had. I shake my head and open my eyes so widely, then I see her face forming.

“Trisha! Is that you?” I ask as relief washes over me. Without waiting for an answer from her, I pull her into my arms and embrace her tightly. But why isn’t she saying anything. Why doesn’t she even smell like her? Is it because of being tipsy? Maybe it is. Did she really come here for me?
