THE UNEXPECTED

I sipped my drink, feeling the cool liquid slide down my throat as I gazed around the busy bar. The music was loud, the lights were flashing, and the crowd was rowdy, but I was in my element. I loved nights like this, where I could let loose and be myself.

Alexis was with me as expected, laughing and chatting, her eyes shining with excitement. We were having the time of our lives, and I was grateful to have her by my side.
