ELARIANA'S POV

The wheels of the carriage dragged across the ground as the horses galloped through the gates of the Order's castle, and came to an abrupt stop just at the castle gates.

I peered out of the carriage door and saw Beros and Damian walking up to us.

Dante was at the head of the carriage, in control of the horses.

Damian had taken his time to put together a wonderful carriage for our journey, even though Beros insisted we didn't need it, he didn't listen.

And now, here we were, about

ELARA'S POV"Did he really say that?" I asked Beros as he told me what the Beta had told him yesterday."Yes, yes he did, they're looking for the run away mate" he said."And they just found her" I added, with a chuckle."I would love to see where this leads, I do not see any need to fear him, do you?" I asked Beros, sitting across from me in my room.He had come to my room early this morning to fill me in on last night's events. And now, as he sat across from him, I couldn't help but note how regal he looked this morning, and how his eyes still made my heart skip a beat.I chucked inwardly. Love really was a funny thing. Making even the strongest of deities feel butterflies."No, I don't think we need to fear him" his chair scraped as he stood up."But I wouldn't want him to know our purpose here though, by now, I am sure he would have informed Alpha Kael by now" I added after a while."Without question, we just have to finish what we came here for, before getting interrupted by them

ELARA'S POV"Hello Beros, the alpha has been expecting you" a voice snapped me out of the intense eye lock I had with Beta Lucian. There was no doubt he recognized me, his eyes said everything. And there was no doubt he had plans on reporting this to Alpha Kael as soon as possible. What was he even doing here? I thought to myself as Beros engaged in a conversation with the moonstone's pack Beta, Beta Mike."So, our alpha is delighted to finally meet you, Goddess Elariana" his voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I turned to face Beta Mike's outstretched hand, and his bowed hand. I shook his hand firmly as my eyes connected with Alpha Gerald who was watching us with an intense gaze."We are pleased to have you here" he said as he stepped down from his chair, "we have been expecting you, though we have no idea where the artifact is...I" "I'd like us to discuss this privately, Alpha Gerald" I cut in, not allowing him to finish whatever speech he had prepared. I needed that beta ou

ELARA'S POVWe had continued our journey after Beros told me he didn't know how I would feel around him, but that wasn't even everything. I still couldn't trust him."You wouldn't feel safe around me" his words reverberated in my head. And maybe he was right, or was he? I didn't know if I would feel entirely safe knowing Nyxar had access to all of our plans."Elariana, what's wrong?" His voice snapped me out of my thoughts once again."What do you mean?" I replied him."You've been quiet the whole journey, is it about what I said" His words seemed to pierce me. He seemed so genuine, so concerned, but I couldn't bring myself to fully understand him"What do you want me to say Beros, you lied to me" I said.I heard him take a deep breath."I know, I didn't mean it that way, I just....." he stopped short."You just what?" I said, eager to hear his response."I just wanted you to feel like you could trust me, I wanted you to feel like you were in safe hands" he said. That didn't convince

It was morning. The image of Beros rushing out of my room with his eyes glowing red like coals of fire was still fresh in my pain. I could never unsee that.I had yet to see him this morning. We were supposed to continue our journey to the pack.I was concerned about Beros but the necklace was my utmost priority now, there was no time to waste, and the warning from the little girl yesterday further solidified my decision. For now, I would remain suspicious and wary till I had all my powers back. No one could be trusted, no one."Good morning Elara" I heard his voice snap me out of my thoughts as I stood by the carriage outside."Good morning" I said, while turning to face him. My eyes drifted to his eyes, but there was no trace of the red eyes from yesterday. It it's usual silver."Good morning miss" said Dante as he walked just behind Beros. "How was your night?" He added."My night was lovely, thank you" I smiled warmly.Beros didn't say a word and I decided not to push it as I ente

ELARA'S POVShe turned and started walking away. I followed her, eager to know where she was taking me."Where are you going?" She didn't answer me.I had more confidence now, so I followed her, she took me through alleys and winding streets until, she stopped."What are we doing here?" I asked, looking around as I noticed the lack of anyone else there with us."You cannot trust him" her voice came out, silent and shaky.I was confused. "Who" I asked. She hooked her head. "The one always with you, you can't trust him".My mind went straight to Beros. "Why can't I trust him?" I asked, was this a joke or something?"You can't trust him, you can't trust anyone with you, they all work for him" she added."Who do they work for?" I asked again, this time she raised her head up and looked me straight in the eye."The deity Nyxar, they work for him" her voice came out, cold and calculating. Before I could say another word, she turned the corner and ran away. I followed her almost immediately

We agreed."The moonstone pack...Alpha Gerald" their voices floated to me from far away.I could hear bits and pieces of their conversation without focusing, despite the large distance between us. I knew if I focused more, I would be able to hear everything they said.It fe
