Finally at peace

AVA’s POINT OF VIEW

I kept staring at her angrily. I wish I could slap her hard on her face as I was very filled with rage.

“You are putting on the exact opposite of what you just described! I think you have been talking about yourself, lady. Do you know my husband?”

She laughed a little too loud and honestly, it was disgusting watching her open her mouth to laugh that way. Lucas’s guards walked to me and asked if something was wrong. I looked at the lady and she immediately looked innocent like she was scared. I told the guards that everything was fine. I mean what was I supposed to say, right? They walked away and she sighed out of relief.

She moved close and whispered into my face.

“I thought you would tell them that I was disturbing you.. I am surprised”

“Oh, I see. You expected me to tell the guards so they would call Lucas, right? Why do you want to see him? Well, sorry to disappoint but this is my wedding, and no one will ruin it for me, lady”

I walked away and I could still feel her eyes all over my body.

I walked upstairs and I met Lucas on the way. I tried avoiding him but he called out to me.

“Ava, I hope you are enjoying the party, right?”

“Yes, I am, sir”

We both stared at each other with nothing to say. I kept clenching my hands together but he smiled and turned around to look outside the window.

“Hey, Ava. You can ask me anything if you want. Legally I am your husband now so if you have any complaints, questions, or anything, please feel free to ask me”

I smiled but then I immediately wiped the smile off my face. Why was I smiling? I can't be trying to grow soft on Lucas. He is only helping me out with no strings attached.

And now is obviously not the right time to be falling for a man! I have been through enough already.

“I don't think I have any question for you, sir, and if I did I would have asked. Don't you think so?”

“Ava, sorry I mean Lily Rose. You prefer that, right? Or I can call you Ava if you want though”

“You can call me whatever you want, sir. As long as it's coming from you”

“Ava, let me tell you about Emily”

We both sat on the bed but he didn't look at my face. I was shy too so I liked the fact he didn't Stare at me.

“Emily was my ex-girlfriend but I broke up with her recently when I found out that she was with me only for my money. I loved her a lot back then but when I let her go I promised myself not to fall for anyone else”

I nodded and continued staring all over him. I was enjoying his speech and he sounded very sincere.

Ever since I met Lucas he has never for once treated me badly he has been so kind and attentive to me.

“But last month when I traveled for a little work I met Emily at the Same hotel I was at. I tried my best to avoid her but she kept following me around. I swear to you that I have no idea how we both ended up in the same room and in the same bed. I can't recall what happened in that room, it was as if I was drunk!”

I guess Emily drugged him. With what I have seen about her I can swear that she drugged him. She looked like the type of lady who would force herself on a man to get what she wanted.

“Sir, I am not judging you in any way and I will never do that. I just want to ask if you think or believe that the child she is carrying is really yours. What do you think, sir?”

“I can not say per se but I doubt it. Emily is a Corny woman and she can go to any extent to prove a point”

He turned around, looked at me, and held my hands, and for about 2 minutes we stared at each other but I had to move my eyes quickly because Lucas was so good-looking you could not resist the urge.

“Ava, I will put you in a fashion school for a few weeks, okay? So you will learn the basic things about fashion and owning your own clothing line. You understand, right?”

I smiled, moved close to and hugged him happily. Tears rolled down from my eyes and I was so glad it felt as if the universe was on my side this time around. I mean I knew that he would open a clothing brand for me just like he promised but I never expected it to be this soon.

I kissed his cheeks but when I realized that I was still holding him I quickly moved away from his body and bent my head.

“You told me to be free with you, Ava. So I think you also need to be free me”

I looked up at his face and smiled widely.

“I am free with you sir, and I am so grateful, sir. You don't know how good I feel that you have me in mind. I am so glad, Sir. Thank you so much”

“No need to thank me, Ava. This was the deal, right? And I like how respectful you have been with my Nana. I really appreciate it, and please stop addressing me as sir. Just call me Lucas except you also want me to start addressing you as Madam Ava”

When he said that I laughed loudly and held my head. That was one honest and truthful laugh I have had since I left Logan’s house.

I was yet to find peace and I won't until I was done with Logan and his family.
