"Hey, mom," I said as I walked into the room, pulling Alexei with me. He offered to follow me this time and I loved the idea. The room was properly lit with the window blinds pulled aside so there would be ventilation.

I was really grateful to Anya for this.

"Sit here," I put Alexei on the arm chair beside the bed and sat on the bed. There was silence and I watched as he looked at my mother before speaking up. "You look just like her," he said and I nodded. "Now you know where I got my looks from," I said proudly as I wiggled my hands over my face making him chuckle.

"You miss her," he stated and I nodded. I looked at my mother. "I've always craved for her warm hugs. I miss her sweet voice," I told him. "She can sing?"

He looked genuinely interested and it made me smile. Marcus never really cared about the little things that I liked.

"She used to be an opera singer. She taught my brother and I how to sing and play a few instruments," I told him.
