Dylan paced around his room, his heart racing with excitement. He paused, sitting at the edge of his grand,king-sized mahogany bed. Something about what Alan had said filled him with unnecessary adrenaline - It was risky, dangerous..... Totally worth the bet. He collapsed, sinking into the soft mattress. The faint scent of expensive perfume lingering in the air. He stared at the large, golden chandelier hanging down from the roof. The expensive paintings draped on the walls, how every corner of his room looked lavishly furnished. He was the fourth young master of the Chu family, one of the most influential business tycoons. He lacked nothing, asides the one thing he couldn't get. He groaned, lifting the soft duvet. Curse his luck, why does his love life have to be so unrequited?. This was the hundredth time he's proposed. Probably that Gu brat was right, maybe this one sided admiration wasn't worth it. He shut his eyes tightly, Alan's words slowly drifting into his mind. “ Go after someone with more power, more authority. Someone with the ability to make him regret ever loosing you.” In the Qin family, only one other person stood at the edge of power, holding multiple connections. Matthew Qin, the current head of the Qin corporations. His cold, intimidating aura and ruthless, heightened business acumen has earned him a name. Easily striking fear in the hearts of his competitors... On second thought - He didn't have any competitors. He'd crushed them a long time past, bringing their companies to naught even before he came into power. He was a blood thirsty tyrant. Dylan rolled, sobbing quietly as he wailed his fate. He really wasn't into older men, talk less of dating a man a decade older than him. Not to be overly sensitive - but he felt like Alan was intentionally pulling his legs. How was he supposed to face that cold blooded Matthew...?. He kicked the air with his feet, burying his face in the soft mattress. "What's this kicking the air about?" Dylan whipped his head, his eyes widening as they settled on a tall, lean frame. "Second sis, when did you you come in?. How long have you been there..?!". He exclaimed, sitting up straight. The lady tilted her head to the side, her blue eyes examining her little brother's disheveled figure. She straightened her skirt, taking a seat next to him. "I've been here long enough, watching you grovel about nothing in particular.". She adjusted her pink- rimmed glasses, a small smile tugging at the end of her lips. "Reminds me of when you're eight...." "Alright, Daphne. It's enough of that." - Dylan cut her off, blushing with embarrassment. Daphne chuckled, finding her little brother's actions amusing enough. She stretched out her manicured hands, giving Dylan's cheeks a soft pinch. He always was the most adorable out of them. "Oww!!". Dylan cried out, rubbing his stinging cheeks. "What was that for?!". Daphne exhaled, her eyes filled with content."Your phone wouldn't stop ringing, it disturbed my rest. So i thought to drop it off with you, here...". She flung the phone into his laps. " Answer it, it must be important." She slipped out the door, flashing one last smile before leaving. Dylan's cheeks puffed, pouting his lips with grievance. There she goes again, always seizing every chance to pick on him. It was slowly getting unbearable. If it hadn't been for the others, he'd have moved out a long time ago. The phone vibrated in his hands, the familiar ringtone reaching his ears. He lowered his eyes, staring at the contact with a subtly, conflicted look. "Hello....." "Dylan, i'm drunk. Can you come pick me up?". A low hoarse voice came through. Simone. He paused, his heartbeat accelerating. He clutched his jeans, trying to maintain his rationality..... trying to hate this person. He shut his eyes, listening to the loud, funk music from the other end of the call. No doubt, he was at a nightclub. But why call on him of all people... He parted his lips, "It's late, Simone. Can't you try contacting someone else?" Simone chuckled, his voice raspy from drinking alcohol. "I'll send the location and wait for you to come pick me up." Without giving Dylan any chance to refute, he hung up. Dylan's grip on the phone tightened, his eyes lingering on the brightly lit screen - 32 missed calls. He'd called him so many times, just to make him his chauffeur....? Damn it, damn that jerk. Meanwhile............. Thick smoke lingered in the air, accompanied by the strong scent of liquor. Dim lights flooded the private room, loud music blaring from the dance floor as ladies danced on poles in skimpy clothes. Simone sat on a sofa, taking a long drag of his e-cigarette. His misty red eyes lingering on his phone's screen, his expression unreadable. "Simone, do you actually think that he'd come over?" Simone snapped, his eyes holding a certain smugness as they settled on one of his lackeys. "Why not?" He exhaled a cloud of smoke, coughing up a bit. He stretched out his free arm, pulling a scantily dressed lady into his embrace. "I'm all he ever thinks of. He certainly wouldn't want to miss this chance." " But isn't this going too far...?. Is drugging him really that necessary, after what happened today -" "Tom!!" - Simone snapped, his sudden aggressiveness frightening the timid third generation heir. He paused, running his hands roughly through his hair as he stared at his terrified lackey. Damn it!!. He'd lost a moment's composure. He still needed these people as his lapdogs, nothing would go right if he lost them now. He threw his head back against the sofa, swallowing his anger. That's right!!. They had the resources he needed, they're still useful. "You're asking way too many questions". He lowered his voice, trying to salvage the situation. "Just do as i said. And no one will get caught." - He added, picking up a glass of brandy. He took a small sip, trying to soothe his nerves. Really,if it hadn't been for that person asking. He wouldn't be getting himself involved in these kind of dirty work. If it hadn't been for winning her over.... He clenched the glass, his jaws ticking. " Have the other things been arranged for?". Simone questioned, his voice breaking the awkward silence in the room. The others nodded, too afraid to speak. "Wimps!!". Simone mused. He glanced right out the door, the shadows hiding the cruel smile on his thin lips. It's all about time....Payback..... Dylan paced around his room, his heart racing with excitement. "And where could he be....?" Alan turned 360°, his eyes scanning through the crowd until he spotted a familiar figure hidden behind a rose bush. Bingo..... He walked up close, holding a small bottle of milk as he drew closer to Dylan. His footsteps drawing Dylan's attention."What the hell are you doing here?" - Dylan snapped. Alan spread out his arms with a small shrug, taking a seat next to him.“What do you think?.” "I'm here to keep you company of course, I really can't have you walking around on your own. What if you decide to do something stupid........ like suicide perhaps." - Alan added, his lips curved in a thin smile. "You-, you saw that didn't you.....?!" - Dylan stammered, his face flushed with embarrassment.Alan folded his arms, his expression calm and relaxed. "Can't say i did and can't say i didn't. There was a crowd out there, such a thing would be impossible to miss." - He paused, glancing over his shoulders as he stared at Dylan's profile. He lowered his eyes,
"Cheers!!!" Hot steam rose beneath the bright lights, accompanied by the sound of wine - filled glasses clinking together and cutleries against porcelain plates. Alan sat far off, his almond eyes lingering on his rather drunken employees who were still lost in their merriment with a rather indifferent look. He lowered his eyes, staring at his half - filled glass of wine with a bored sigh- Oh, what he would give to be home at this moment! He would rather prefer the comfort of his bed.....than having to socialize with these drunken people. He'd rather be done with it.Lifting the glass, he gulped all it's contents in one sip. Straightening his clothes, he stood up..... prepared and ready to leave."I'll be taking my leave now, take care everyone." - Alan bowed deeply, strands of hair falling over his face.He stood, watching everyone still indulging in foods and dr
Wow!. How...... aesthetic. Alan placed the stack of files on the medium-sized desk. Stretching his arms out, he felt the smooth walls coldly pressed against his fingertips. He lowered his arms, staring at the small, poorly furnished space with an amused look. He let out a small laugh - All of these on such short notice..... their hospitality was truly heart- warming. It almost, literally moved him to tears. He walked over, taking a sit - At least they remembered the chair. For that, he was truly grateful. He picked up a file, calmly adjusting his tie with a practiced, professionalism. He only had less than a month to figure out the true culprit behind the billion dollar theft and time wasn't really on his side.ONE HOUR LATER........*What's it with these random numbers.....?. They're driving me insane.* He held his head, his elbows resting on his desk as he stared at the sprawled papers which happended to be his fifth file in a row.*It aches....it aches so bad. Reading these file
The cool breeze blew gently, softly tugging at Alan's clothes. He raised his arm, shielding his eyes from the bright sun rays - The Gu family manor certainly had a great, natural aesthetic. The scent of lush green trees and the soothing melody of birds chirping, he bit his lower lip - It's too bad that he wasn't in the right state to appreciate such delicate, craftsmanship. He'd only successfully bought some time, but..... could he really prove his innocence. He raked his fingers through his coffee brown hair, a soft, exhausted sigh escaping his lips. The Old man had allowed him to remain in the company, only until he could recover the stolen money...... Or else, face imprisonment. He blinked, a vivid image of the Old Gu staring at him with unfiltered contempt flashing through his eyes.Ahhh, and here he hoped the previous host had it easy! He palmed his face, uncertain of what yet to do. Going to the company seemed to be his only way out, at least, he had a starting point. He sh
" You ungrateful little twerp!!" Alan settled his calm eyes on the aged man sitting on one of the luxurious sofas, accompanied by two women. He blinked silently in confusion, his head tilting slightly to the side. "After all i've done raising you..... You still dared to commit such a crime, embezzling company funds." - The man heaved angrily, his tired eyes reddening in fury. "I never knew my Gu family would one day raise a white - eyed wolf and that it would be you of all people." He picked up another fine, porcelain tea cup, this time aiming for Alan's head. "I'd rather kill you now, than let you embarrass me anymore in the future!!" "Chairman Gu, don't be so reckless!!. You will only end up making the matter worse." - The older lady held the old man's hand, preventing him from hurling the porcelain cup at the still- perplexed Alan." Yes, Father..... brother might have fallen short in many ways, but he's still your son and the heir to Gu's group. You've got to keep your temper a
