SURPRISE VISIT
"My lady, breakfast is ready; everyone has been summoned to the dining room." Tamina's personal maid, Celin, informed her while doing a courtesy. Some other maids were attending to her supple skin while massaging her with very expensive oil and bathing her with expensive cologne. Her red straight hair was brushed gently and fell over her face; her dark siren eyes made her beauty out of this world. Even at that, no one could surpass the queen of beauty, Katie, but now she was dead. Tamina finally picks a red-colored gown with a V-neck; it had pretty lace and was very beautiful. It matched her hair and gave her an aura of confidence. The gown hugged the upper part of her body and flared from her waist down to her feet. The maids couldn't help but gawk at her beautiful outfit. Her brows were thick and had a perfect lining, and her long lashes aligned perfectly. Tamina wasn't called the queen of seduction for nothing; when she walked, men praised the Lord for creating such a masterpiecein the form of a woman. Tamina made her way out of the room, making her way to the dining room. All of a sudden, the three queens met at the enormous hall leading to the commodious dining room. Jazell's short, shoulder-length blonde hair aligned with her small face; the diamond earrings she was wearing were dazzling. She was wearing a blue fishtail dress that exposed some of her curves; her cleavage was in full bloom. Jia had black-colored eyes with straight black hair; she had a full chest, small lips, and almond-shaped eyes. She was very reticent, having a mysterious aura. Racheal was already seated at the table; her brown curly hair was packed in a bun, with a few strands falling on her face. These ladies eyed themselves with a murderous glare; the person they were looking for was not here; she was at the dining table. They all made their way to the dining room, their royal outfits dragging behind them; they looked iconic and breathtaking. Their royal personal maid escorted them from behind, with their gaze fixed on the floor. They dare not gossip at that moment. Gossiping was like food to them; they would meet at the royal kitchen, wide enough to contain hundreds of people. News and headlines would fly in the kitchen, and this was where royal personal maids got the gist, which they would tell to each of their mistresses. They had their ears on the walls and their eyes behind their backs, in search of juicy gossip. Last night, Ragaleon had given Racheal a bracelet, right now at the table, elegantly as always. But the daggers she was getting from all sides were tormenting. All the queens took their seats on the chairs specially reserved for them; everyone was at the table when Ragaleon walked in. They all stood up, did a courtesy, and took their seats when Ragaleon sat down. Johanna wore a taunting smile as she used the fork she was holding to play with the food. "If you are not hungry, do not waste the food; we will offer it to the widows and orphans." Selena chipped in when she saw Johanna was yet to take a bite from her food. Joanna glared at her before finally taking a mouthful of steak. "How was your night, Rachael? Jazell couldn't hide her conceit; she gazed at the bracelet Ragaleon had gifted Racheal and couldn't hide her conceit, so she questioned casually. She was burning with jealousy when she saw how happy Racheal looked. Ragaleon cast her a disdainful gaze, and she focused on her food. Everyone in the household was aware of the bracelet Ragaleon gifted Racheal, but they didn't know why. Racheal was melting; her cheeks were now red, and she quickly excused herself from the table. Tamina snarled and then continued eating her food. She was already losing her appetite but didn't want it to look so obvious that she was unhappy, so she forced herself to take some more morsels. "Tamina, after lunch today see me at my chamber." Ragaleon said when he had finished eating. He stood up and was about to take his leave when he paused…. "Mother does well to enlighten the household about the golden rules; I won't take it lightly next time if any of them are broken." He said with his hands crossed behind his back. Tamina thought she was just hearing things, but then Ragaleon had gazed at her when he told her to come to his chamber. Suddenly a sly smirk tugged at the corner of her lips; she raised her gaze and saw that Jazell had her eyes on her. Jia looked unbothered, and Racheal only cast a short glare before concentrating on her meal. Jazell was now chewing her food faster, her right hand gripped her spoon tightly, and her left hand drummed on the table. Under the table her legs were stomping the ground rapidly. "First it was Racheal, now it's Tamina." She muttered under her breath; Jia, who was seated next to her, cast a glance. "What are you looking at? Jazell snapped when she saw that Jia was gazing at her. All heads turned towards her direction, but she had already buried her face in her meal; her left hand had stopped drumming on the table andballed into a fist. Tamina was enjoying the look on Jazell's face; suddenly, Jazell rises up to her feet after wiping her mouth… "Jazell, you haven't finished your food." Tamina said with a taunting voice. Jazell glared at her with conceit before walking away, her blue gown trailing behind her. "Looks like someone is having a bad day." Leah hummed; just then her mother stepped on her foot from under the table, and she wanted to scream because it hurt so bad, but she held her hand against her mouth and just let out a little shriek. Her feet were throbbing with raw pain, as the impact from Johanna's heel was unbearable. Leah gazed at her mother before biting her lips bitterly. "What is wrong with everyone today? Selena muttered under her breath while trying to finish her meal. She felt that things had changed since her husband died; the household was turning to something else. No one would have dared to walk out of the table when Harris was still eating, or else they were vouching for a death sentence. Being reminded of her late husband because of the current household melodrama, Selena's eyes softened with unshed tears; dropping the spoon she was using to drink her soup, she wiped her mouth with a fancy napkin and excused herself from the table. "I heard Prince Vinson is coming to Decreash today; is that true? William questioned. This was his first time making any comments on the table, and since Ragaleon wasn't here to rebuke the disrupted serenity…. "Oh yes, I was also informed about his coming. What a noble man; his kind is very rare to come across." Johanna commented. Immediately when Leah heard that Vinson was coming to Decreash, she blushed hard; she was already dreaming of a life with him, and now that she would have a chance to see him, she was excited. At that same arena, seated at the far end of the table, was Helen, Serena's only daughter. Her ears were picking up what was being discussed as she ate her meal in a demure manner. "Vinson is coming? She questioned herself while smiling slyly. It has been long since he came by; actually, the only reason he did pay visits at intervals was to see Helen. But this time he didn't inform her; he wanted to surprise her, but her family always had their ears on the ground, so now the surprise was ruined. "Excuse me," Leah said, quickly wiping her mouth. She immediately sent for her personal maid while making it to her room. Vinson would be here any moment now; for now, she had to look pretty to impress him. Helen gazed at her stepsister, her face reading suspicion. William couldn't comprehend what was going on in the palace today; in just a split second the dining room was empty. He turned to his side and also discovered his mother had left unnoticed. He looked around; only Jia was left at the table. "Is there something going on that I am not aware of? "Queen Tamina, your parents are here to see you." Celin, Tamina's personal maid, informed Tamina, who was sipping a glass of wine on her room's terrace while sitting on a cozy swing. Tamina almost choked on the content she was drinking; she quickly dropped the glass of wine on a table beside the swing on the terrace. "My...my parents? Tamina questioned, looking amused. She immediately sprang to her feet, while the maid led the way. They soon got to the palace guest parlor, where prominent guests were received warmly. The maids were indeed not mistaken; sitting majestically on the expensive, two-seat armchair were her parents. The king and queen of Nehoviah. Tamina beamed with a genuine smile and made her way to where her parents were. "Mother...Father! She called out to them, and immediately they heard her call out to them; they turned in her direction while rising to their feet. "Tamina! They chorused with outstretched hands, and Tamina walked up to where they stood and hugged them. They took their seats, satisfied with how well their daughter was doing. The outfit she was wearing was melange with a shade of diamond, and her necklace was made from the best coral pearls. Even her crown was screaming glory. They were glad that their daughter was the fifth queen of Decreash. "I can see the king is treating you well." Titran, Tamina's father, commended, and Tamina smiled in return. Amber's eyes scanned her beautiful daughter in a fleeting manner; her daughter had put on some weight in the right places, and she was even more seductive than she was before. By now Amber was expecting her to have been pregnant, so her eyes darted to her daughter's stomach, but it was flat. Amber knitted her brows in disdain. This is not right. How come the king hasn't impregnated Tamina yet? With a lustful body like hers, she should have been heavy with his baby by now. These were her thoughts as she watched both daughter and father discuss heartily while eating the snacks that had been prepared for them. Amber knew she needed to do something about what seemed to be a current predicament. She badly wanted Tamina to be the mother of Ragaleon's heir; with that, she would have nothing to worry about, and her kingdom would also benefit from it. She didn't want to discuss anything in the presence of Titran, her husband, so she kept to herself and helped herself with some snacks. Some servants were finding it hard to carry the sumptuous gifts Tamina's parents had come with; they had ten more royal carriages filled with gifts to escort them. Just then Selena walked in with some guards escorting her. "Titran Ashram, Amber Ashram, king and queen of Nehoviah, you are welcome." Selena greeted Amber warmly. "Thank you, Selena. Our heartfelt apologies for not being able to attend your husband's funeral; we were quite busy." Titran quickly said, and Selena faked a smile. Amber tried not to show her contempt for Selena; she had always thought that Selena liked to lord over others because she was the wife of a powerful king, but it was just mere jealousy playing out in her heart. As the mistress and queen mother, it was Selena's duty to receive her guests warmly and make sure they were comfortable. After confirming the quality of attention the maid had given to Tamina's parents, her work here was done, so she simply made her way back to her room with her escorts. Amber sneered behind her and couldn't come to terms with her mood swing. Almost immediately a guard came into the room to inform Titran that Ragaleon had sent for him. With his absence Amber became relaxed and immediately turned to look at Tamina. "Why aren't you pregnant?Micah held on to the cloak concealing her face as she walked through the busy marketplace. Her bright eyes dazzled in awe; never has she seen such splendor and beauty. All her life she had grown up in the kingdom of Decreash, yet she was never acquainted with it. She lived with her father and her sister in a small village in Decreash; she spent most of her time working on her father's farm, trying desperately to make ends meet. But here she was in the most iconic trade market in Decreash. It was said this famous trade landmark brought kingdoms together. There were apparently foreigners among the people of Decreash. Micah masked her face as she glided through the throng of people in the busy market; the only thing that wasn't concealed was her bright hazel-brown eyes. Suddenly someone gripped her wrist and dragged her to a corner. Micah was in shock as she battled to free herself. "It's okay; I won't harm you." The girl holding her hand suddenly says she led
THE JEWEL THIEF (2) Jia's face was contorted. Tamina had dared to touch her things. How dare she? Jia fumed inwardly, trying to keep her nerves calm. "Go and tell Lady Tamina she has been summoned to the meeting room. Jia's voice pierced the air. The guard nodded immediately and scurried through the verse corridors, making his way to Tamina's chamber. Meanwhile, Tamina was busy relaxing on a cotton swing in the garden. Her lean, fair fingers were plucking from the bunch of grapefruits on a golden tray, which was placed on a glass table beside the swing. Next to the grapes was a glass of milk. She took the glass of milk and brought it to her lips, sipping from it demurely. Just then her personal maid was beside her... "My lady, a guard is claiming you have been summoned to the meeting room chamber." The soft voice of Celin. "Did he tell you the reason I was summoned? Tamina questioned, rising to her feet. "No, my lady, he only mentioned that you were summoned i
JEWEL THIEF All the maids gathered in the kitchen as they discussed in whispers, some were weeping profusely while others had a mournful countenance. “He was such a good man.” A maid said, wiping her tears. “Oh you cruel hands of death! Another cried. Rouges was dead, it was only discovered this morning, and a maid had met his dead body in the hallway. The maid was frightened and screamed when she saw the corpse of Rouges, ever since then she couldn't stop crying, she was paralyzed with shock and couldn't shake off the scene she had seen away from her mind. Celin, Tamina’s personal maid was the person weeping profusely by the corner, she was also the one that had screamed when she saw Rouge's corpse, lying cold in the hallway. This was the sight Linn came to meet, when she walked into the kitchen to get her mistress a cup of hot coffee. She was surprised and asked what happened, immediately she got the news, her heart flinched in shock. Jazell did keep to her
The darkness in Decreash during nightfall brought about silence. It was said that the king was capable of hanging anyone who disturbed his sleep. He was like a sleeping lion in a deep slumber; if disturbed, he would eat his prey alive. The castle was a very huge building; it was designed by one of the best architects in the capital. The gold lingering on the pillars and the water fountains in the gardens. As the water rushed down, swayed by the cool night breeze, night insects chirped. Every detail was perfunctory, the marvelous chandeliers glowing in the dark night and the rushing of the water from the golden statue of Ragaleon. It was a fountain designed to his exquisite taste. Such wealth, such glory simply couldn't be matched up by any kingdom in the capitals. The hallways in the castle were long and complicated, but those who knew their way around it made good use of it. “Rogues, please stop; we might get caught.” Rosa said, looking frightened. But Rouges inched
"Berth, why would you sign away Father's farm to these strangers? Micah was more than angry; she was frustrated by her sister's naivety. Berth's face was distorted; it was now that she had suddenly realized what she had done. How could she have been so foolish as to sign a paper without reading it? "Mi…Micah, it's not my fault." She still wanted to deny it was her fault; she felt that her sister was embarrassing her in the presence of the royal men in front of her. Berth pushed Micah aside… "You are well aware I can't read and write; I didn't know the content on that paper…" Berth interceded. "You should have thought of that before signing it, Berth." Micah ran her hands through her thick dark hair. "They are princes; you are embarrassing me by yelling at me in front of them." Berth sounded cross. Micah shook her head from side to side. "They are not princes, Berth; they are royal guards, and you will know that if you accompany me to the farm often! Mica
Berth fixed her eyes on the dress she was knitting; everything must be perfect. The edges and the flower patterns must have a beautiful sync. She was going to be attending a royal ball for the first time ever; everything had to be perfect. Who knows, she could be made the third queen, and her life will suddenly become a bed of roses. Berth was in a world of imaginations; she imagined herself dancing under the night sky with the king of Decreash, and then he would kiss her and make her the new queen. They would rule Decreash together and live happily ever after like those princesses in the fairy tales, the ones her sister always told her stories about. Everyone was aware of the incoming royal ball the king will be throwing. Berth so badly wanted to attend the royal ball; never in her life had she ever lifted a broom or even done any chores, but after hearing of the royal ball, all of a sudden she wanted to make her own dress! Micah was surprised at the sight she
