登入ELARA'S POV.
When I got back to the motel, I went straight into the bathroom, turned the shower on as hot as it would go, and stood under it for a long time, mentally cursing every choice I had made since landing in this city. I pulled myself together. I had a job interview. I was not going to let two arrogant French men ruin what I actually came here for. I dried off, got dressed, and gave myself one long look in the cracked mirror above the sink. Get it together, Elara. They are bastards who got lucky to have a test for you. I kept saying that but I could only think of the two beds making me beg for more like a slut. I quickly shook my head. Applied some make-up and walked out of the room. Some couples almost bumped into me on the way down. They were all up into each other's business that I almost threw up on them. Everything about them reminded me of how I shamelessly let two guys destroy my dignity. I quickly walked past them. I took a cab to the address I was given. As we drove through the city, the streets got wider, the buildings got taller, and the gates got bigger. By the time we pulled up to the estate, I had genuinely forgotten how to breathe. It was a mansion. A real mansion. Like the ones they used in the medieval times. A bodyguard met me at the gate. I quickly introduced myself and he led me inside to a sitting room that probably cost more than everything I had ever owned combined. I sat down carefully, like the chair might charge me for using it, and looked around. Taking in every form of luxury I could lay my eyes on. I was there for a while before a Lady came out. She was beautiful — bright-eyed, brunette hair — everything about her was… wealth. She walked straight to me with her arms already open. “Elara!” She pulled me into a hug like we were old friends. “I am so happy you are here. You have no idea.” I smiled, still confused. “Thank you. I’m happy to be here.” “I'm Amaya,” she introduced. “Your boss.” I nodded. She walked me through everything personally — the layout, the kitchen, the routines. She told me about her fiancée’s dietary needs, her own preferences, the bodyguards who apparently ate whatever was put in front of them without complaint. “You must be available at all times,” she told me as we walked. “This is France, not America. We value dedication here. Punctuality. Presence. You understand?” “Yes, ma’am.” She nodded, satisfied. “Good. Now — cook for me. Something small. I want to see your hands.” I went into the kitchen and made gougères. It was the simplest dish I could think of. And there was no way I could ruin it. Those French bastards were not going to ruin this for me. I swear I was going to kill them when I see them again. I hope I don't. When I brought them out and set them on the table, Amaya leaned in, inhaled slowly, and gave one quiet nod of approval. “It smells good,” she muttered. My lips curled into a proud smile. “I noticed there weren't any drinks in the kitchen,” I pointed out. “Drinks,” she nodded. “Come.” She took me to the wine cellar. It was rows and rows of very expensive and rare wine. Thanks to my wine classes, I was able to identify each of them. “These.” She pulled out a wine from the shelf. “Was the first gift my husband gave me. It's a family tradition that the husband must give his wife a bottle of wine before they get married. And that wine must be the first wine they drink after the wedding.” “You just got married?” I asked. She laughed, softly. “Not yet. When we do, this is the first wine you should serve us.” I forced an awkward smile. She touched one of the bottles. “Isn't the tradition just beautiful?” “Yes,” I said. “Here,” she picked another bottle. “We could use this.” I took the bottle from her. “The vault combination will be reset this morning. Only the present chef and the family members should know the combination. So when something bad happens we know who to blame.” She cocks her head, a huge smile playing on her face. It was a smile, alright, but it felt like the smile they give you before they drag you to hell. “Okay…” She shrugged and walked out. I followed. We went back to the dining room. I uncorked the wine and began arranging the glasses carefully on the table. Amaya suddenly gasped. “You’re here! Come, come — I want you to meet her —” I turned around slowly. “Elara,” she said happily, “this is my fiancé — Luc. And his stepson, Antoine.” The wine bottle slipped right out of my hand. It hit the floor and shattered, red wine spreading across the white marble like a wound, but I barely heard it. Standing in front of me were the two men I had sex with. Luc and Antoine.Luc's POVI had to beg the doctors to discharge me.The hospital room smelled like something straight out of a medieval torture chamber. The food wasn't anywhere near my taste, and I was losing money by the second just lying on that damn bed.Amaya insisted I stay for a while until they caught the person who shot me.Caught the person who shot me?They'd be lucky if they could even find his bones. I'm sure Antoine had already handled it. Otherwise, my father would have paraded around with that asshole's head.Speaking of my father, I couldn't return home without paying him a visit. He had a lot of explanations to give me.The door opened before I even got into the house. His right-hand man, Diego, stepped out, walking with controlled and composed manners, his head held high with pride as I walked in.He hadn't said a word, but my hands were already twitching. His presence alone was enough to stir up childhood memories I'd buried a long time ago.He never laid a hand on me, but boy, di
Elara's POVI woke up the next morning feeling nothing but Antoine's warm body wrapped around my tiny frame and his breath against the back of my neck.I wanted to leave last night, but Antoine refused to let me go. He insisted I use his bathroom to clean up and spend the night in his room.I had no idea why he wanted that.Maybe he didn't want anyone seeing me leave his room in the middle of the night. It would be weird, wouldn't it?I held my breath as he carefully removed his hand from my body and climbed down from the bed.“Good morning,” he muttered.I didn't answer.I closed my eyes, silently praying that he would go to the bathroom and give me a chance to sneak out of the room.I heard nothing for a moment. Then I heard footsteps moving farther away before the door clicked shut. That was my cue.I quickly got up, grabbed my pants from the floor, and put them on. My heart pounded heavily as I pulled them up and jogged toward the door.“Is that some kind of new sport?”I spun aro
Elara's POV. It was like my own body had lost control. It was controlled by the lust that had settled deep in a place I hoped no one would find. Our mouths moved together, meeting the beat of the other. I could feel his long tongue deep in my mouth, stirring a reaction I couldn't name, but I didn't hate it. My hands went to his back, feeling the muscles under his shirt.Damn, he had quite a build. I rubbed his back slowly, pulling him closer to me while his hand moved under my top. His warm fingers on my skin made my hips move closer to him. “Hmm,” I moaned in his mouth. He moved his hand up my side, dragging them gently to my breasts.I tilted my head to the side as his lips slowly moved to my neck. I placed a hand at the back of his head to pin him down. His wet tongue against my skin made me shudder. He started rubbing my nipple with his thumb. I gasped, throwing my head back as his teeth sank in my skin. My hands moved all over his back, feeling every part of him, and I co
Elara's POVI wasn't sure if they needed me at the hospital, but after three days of not hearing anything from anyone in the family, I decided to visit them. And not to be that person, but I also wanted to see Amaya and talk to her about when I'd be leaving.I was patiently waiting for the elevator when someone walked up beside me. His tall, intimidating figure made it hard not to look at him.He slowly turned toward me, and a small smile appeared on his lips.It was Antoine's friend. I recognized him from the party. He pressed the button, and the elevator doors opened.I walked in after him, hiding my arms inside the sleeves of my sweater. He pulled out his phone and started scrolling while I pressed the button for my floor.Doesn't he recognize me? Or does he just not care?I glanced at him.He had light brown hair that fell slightly over his forehead, giving him a relaxed look. He wore a plain black T-shirt under a dark jacket, paired with fitted blue jeans and clean white sneakers
Antoine's POV.The door creaked open as I stepped into the dark room. The smell hit me first. It smelled like blood, sweat, and something rotten. The sound of water dripping echoed through the room.I found my way to the switch and pulled it down. The single bulb in the center of the room turned on, revealing Hugo tied to a chair. He was barely alive. My guys had done a good number on him. We had spent an entire day scouring the corners of France to find this fucker, so he deserved every punch. He slowly lifted his head, blood dripping from his nose.I scoffed, placing my hands in my pockets.“Come here to finish what your boys started?” he asked.Despite his situation, he still found it easy to taunt me, which only meant the boys had gone easy on him.“Just kill me and get it over with,” he said.“You're nothing but a coward,” I hissed. “You couldn't face us, so you threatened us with a fucking video. Then you tried to turn yourself in to the cops after you shot Luc.”He made a faint
Antoine's POV. I stared at the doctors as they pushed his stretcher to the emergency ward. He had an oxygen mask on his face, his clothes were torn open, blood still rushing out. I still couldn't believe it. This wasn't the first time someone was shot in front of me, but somehow, it was the first time I was left completely frozen. Amaya was at the corner, crying and screaming at the top of her lungs. Her father and brother were trying their best to hold her down while I was trying my best not to actually scream at her. Luc isn't the first person to be shot, and he definitely wouldn't be the first to survive a gunshot to the chest so why was she overreacting. “You.” She suddenly turned to me. “It's your fault!”My fault? I was standing there with him. How the hell was this my fault?“I've always said you were bad news,” she cried loudly. “Luc never listens to me, now look what happened.”I ignored her, and looked at the room the doctors went into. This was Hugo.No one would ha
ELARA'S POV. I still have no idea how this happened. One moment I was complaining about the leak in my ceilings, the other moment I was walking through the street, enjoying the buzzling city of Paris. And in less than an hour I was having sex with two random French dudes. It started when I ducked
ELARA'S POV.The next morning, I woke up to the sound of low, tense voices. They were speaking in French. I didn’t understand a single word, but I didn’t need to. The tension in their voices made me know that there was something wrong. Terribly wrong. I kept my eyes closed, pretending to still be
ELARA'S POV We lay there, panting, my body still buzzing from the orgasm. My chest heaved up and down, sticky with Luc's cum. Antoine's load cooled on my stomach. I wiped a hand across my skin, feeling the mess. The air smelled like sex and sweat.Antoine grinned down at me, his cock still half-ha
ELARA'S POV. “Get out! You were nothing but a sex toy! I never loved you. You’re weak and ugly!”Those were the last words my boyfriend of ten years ever said to me.Ten years all in vain. My boyfriend and I were homeless, orphaned people. We lived in a camp all through our lives but that didn't
