Darkness

Rain’s POV

I sat up in bed, startled and confused. The dream I had gotten stuck in was still very vivid in my mind. I was with my treasure but I couldn’t reach him. No matter how hard I tried he was always out of my reach. Just like my dragon Reya. Tears were falling down my cheeks. I looked around the room and realized I was still in the hotel.

My parents were not in the room with me anymore. Darkness had fallen outside and the moonlight was cascading across me on the bed. I wiped the tears away and got out of bed. I headed into the bathroom and quickly did my business. As I stood at the sink I felt numb. I washed my face and hands and looked at myself in the mirror.

I was pale and my eyes looked dull. Exhaustion was evident in my gaze. I was truly tired and I didn’t mean my body. My soul was tired. I had no connections to anyone. I couldn’t reach out to my family and even though I had some magic still in me it was dark and evil. I shouldn’t have ever drained Crissy’s life force
