10. He Is My Safe Place

“How are you feeling?” Osric questions while coming into his tent returning from scouting to find Liliana and I curled up together in his bed.

“Tired,” Liliana answers while running her fingers through my silky onyx hair, I am curled in to her trying to process everything I have done.

“It’s been a long night, just rest your parents are close. In the morning we’ll escort you to your grandmother’s house where you’ll be safe,” Osric admits while sitting in front of the fire as my eyes follow him unable to peel them away.

“Why can’t we stay with your pack?” Liliana asks the one question I want to ask; but feel like I can’t, afraid of the answer.

“You wouldn’t be safe; Blood Moon is one of the oldest packs to exist and follows outdated traditions that I am changing. They also follow the rule of an Elder Council which won’t appreciate Raven and her powers, so it’s safer for your family to hide for now. Someday it will be a place for your family,” Osric answers watching me sit up holding
