"Brr, it's cold outside." I shuddered, rubbing my arms for warmth.

The buzz from the two glasses of champagne I had at dinner had started to wear off. I put on a brave face in front of the boys, pretending not to have heard all the insensitive whispering, when in fact, I picked up every word that was spoken. Not all of it was bad. Some of it was reassuring.

Grayson was the first to remove his suit jacket and wrapped it around my shoulders. I snuggled into it, loving how his woodsy scent infused the material. Chloe, Lincoln, Danna, and her ranger husband, Josh, met us outside the Vortex club. Josh was a blonde version of Lincoln, big and bulky, but with less facial hair. They dressed more for comfort, donning stonewashed jeans, boots, and plaid shirts. The girls stood out from their husbands. Danna opted for a glitzy blue two-piece skirt and strappy top, and silver heels. Chloe looked stunning in a pink halter-neck mini dress, and white patent open-toe pumps.
