Ariana’s POV
“How could I ever forget? Although it’s been over fifteen years now, the pain and memory are still fresh, like it was yesterday, and remember, Ariel, I wasn’t the reason we were attacked, so stop blaming it on me,” I screamed, my heart hurting more than it could take. “You are more pathetic than I thought,” she said, looking at me with disgust before walking out. It’s been two months since I got rejected by Xavier and faced Ariel’s confrontation. I had accepted the rejection, after all, what could an omega do? Since then, I’ve been plotting my escape. I’d saved up enough to start a new life among the rogues with a new identity. I mastered all the loopholes and corners in the pack already. This place was a living hell, and I was done. Ariel and Xavier had announced their wedding date at the birthday party, and preparations for the wedding had begun. “We are going to the pack house now, by the time we come back, make sure everywhere is sparkling and you’ve prepared dinner,” Grace spat. “It’s the least your useless self can do for us.” My adoptive parents got into the car and drove off. Ariel and I went back inside, not saying a word to each other, although I didn’t miss the irritated look she gave me from time to time. I headed for the kitchen to begin my chores. A few minutes later, Ariel took her bag and headed to the market. After I was done cleaning the entire house, I began packing my bag. Thankfully, I didn’t have much property to carry. I checked all the rooms to be sure no one was home. After I had confirmed I was the only one at home, I carried my bag and walked towards the back door to escape. Bang! Bang! I stopped dead in my tracks. “F**k! Who is that?” I cursed inwardly. I tossed my bag into one corner and walked to the front door. The moment I opened the door, Xavier stormed in, an evil grin resting on his face. “My father will definitely get richer by selling you off. Now come here!” he said, laughing maniacally. “W—what do you mean?” I stammered, confused. He grabbed my hands and started dragging me out of the house. “What are you doing? Leave me alone!” I screamed, but he wouldn’t budge. He started dragging me towards the pack house. Immediately I noticed he loosened his grip, I bit down hard on his hands, but he landed a dirty slap across my face. “Are you stupid? Biting my hands? Do you have a death wish?” I looked at my surroundings, and our pack members had gathered, pointing fingers at me. They looked at me with disdain, some of them hissing loudly at me. On the other side of the road, there were cattle, a heavily loaded cart, and some foreign soldiers guarding it. As he kept dragging me, a wave of strong scent hit me, sending warmth through me and butterflies in my belly. This one was far different from what I experienced with Xavier. It was strong and intoxicating. It made my knees weak and made my emotions scatter all over the place. I couldn't concentrate due to the way Xavier kept dragging me. Then someone shouted from afar, “The Alpha King is here!” ********************** Arthur’s POV. Knock, knock. “Come in,” I replied. “Alpha,” Luke, my Beta, bowed. “Everything is ready, Your Highness.” “Good, let’s go,” I replied in a calm yet commanding tone. As the Alpha King, at the end of every six months, I go around packs to collect omegas from alphas of any pack willing to trade. As the most powerful pack in the werewolf world, with a landmass of over 250,000 square kilometers with 3,000 warriors, we always needed more workers to work in different sections of the pack. Today, we are going to Crystal Pack. A week ago, the Alpha had replied to my request of needing omegas to buy. We began our journey. Crystal Pack was one of those packs with low resources, so an exchange of weapons and cattle for at least five omegas was our agreement. We got to the gate, and three guards walked up to me. “Welcome, Alpha King,” they all bowed, then one of them said, “Allow us to usher you in.” They led us into the pack, and the pack members all bowed upon seeing me. I could see fear in the eyes of some, but most of all, they all bowed in submission. I didn’t need to say anything. My aura and controlling silence said everything. We got to a big house, which I’m assuming was their pack house. “Alpha Arthur, welcome to my humble pack. This is my son, Xavier.” Alpha Noah came out, bowing his head, with his son, who looked like an adult child, beside him. I got down from the horse with my men trailing behind. “Thank you, Noah,” I replied in a very bored tone. I knew he was all just keeping up appearances, his eyes held covetousness upon seeing the resources I came with, and I wasn’t surprised at all. Most of the Alphas were pot-bellied, greedy old men. They were men who were willing to sell their pack members for scraps. After buying the omegas, I always ensure to give them a better life than the pack they came from. We all entered the pack house, and my men were guarding where I sat. “So let’s get straight to business.” He began, signalling to his men. The silence in the room was rather satisfying. I could see Noah shift impatiently in his seat. I decided to ignore it and focus on my business. A few minutes later, the guards came in with four omegas, dragging them in roughly. They were all young girls and looked very malnourished. My wolf growled at this maltreatment, but I held him in. I quietly observed each of them from my seat. The hall was silent, and I could feel everyone’s eyes on me. They were all silently waiting for my approval. I carefully observed them and saw both ruggedness and a cry for help in their eyes. It was satisfying because bringing them into my pack means they get a new and better life, and I needed to be sure they would be grateful for it. But four wasn’t enough. I wanted five. “Add one more omega,” I said in a cool tone. I didn’t need to raise my voice. My command was undeniable. “Erm—but Alpha, we have only—” He shut up immediately when he saw the glint of irritation in my eyes. “We can bring in an addition, I guess.” He turned to his son and whispered something. I watched as the adult child walked out of the room. A loud silence fell across the room as we waited for the last omega. A strange smell hit my nose—a scent too pure, like lavender and honey mixed. Thor, my wolf, stirred restlessly within me. All my senses became alert, but there was something else, a sense of danger and the urge to protect something that was mine. Within a few seconds, he growled within me, daring to come out. I looked around for any threat, but everyone was sitting down, lost in their thoughts. I tried to ignore it, gaining control. It was what I’d been doing for decades, but within a few minutes of being here, Thor pushed harder than he had ever since we became one. The smell was getting stronger, very intoxicating, and Thor was pushing further. I blinked twice to stop my eyes from dilating, trying to gain control again. The Alpha’s son stormed in, grabbing the hair of a girl who struggled behind him relentlessly. In a flash, without thinking, I sped to where they were, throwing him across the room, my eyes fully dilated. For the first time in my entire life, Thor took over and said, “Hello, mate.”“I’m so sorry, Jasmine.” I really was. “The idea of people knowing made me want to keep it a secret.”“From even me?” She muttered, pained.“I’m so sorry, Jasmine. I shouldn’t have hidden it from you or dragged you into this mess with me.” I looked at her using my puppy eyes. Jasmine had been there for me through all of this. She didn’t deserve such an attitude. “Okay, fine… It’s hard to stay angry at you when you do your eyes like that anyway.” She smiled. “I forgive you… but no more secrets.” “Pinky swear,” I replied, smiling. The way to the eastern border was longer than I thought. We walked for hours through the woods. It was already getting to dusk. After a while, we finally saw the river and fetched the kegs, dragging them all the way to the packhouse. By the time we dropped them, we were both exhausted and weak. “Who would have thought you girls could make it? Seeing as you decided to sleep and party there.” Melissa sneered in a rude and disdainful tone. “You sent us to t
We reached the prison, and Luke dragged the unconscious bastard inside. The guards poured boiling water over his skin.“Argh!!” His scream split the air as he bolted upright, clutching at his blistering arms. His wild eyes darted around until they found me. The moment they did, his legs buckled. He dropped to his knees, trembling like a leaf.“Alpha… please… have mercy. I swear it was a mistake. I’m sorry. Spare me.”His pitiful begging almost made me laugh. Fear poured off him in waves, and it should have been enough. But no man who dared lay his filthy hands on any woman in my pack deserved freedom.I tilted my head, studying him like my prey. “You think it was a mistake?” My voice came out low, dangerous. “Touching any female in this pack is never a mistake. It’s a death sentence.”“Please… Alpha…” His words turned into a sob.I sat down on a wooden stool, folding my arms. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you never get the chance to repeat it.” My jaw clenched. “Luke… his fingers. Sta
Arthur’s POV “Have you killed the rogue?” My voice thundered through the mindlink, sharp as a blade. The guards at the prison stammered back, “Y-Yes, Alpha.” “Good. Hang the body on the wall of the southern border. Let the others see what trespassing costs.” The silence that followed was satisfying and thick with fear. Knock, knock, The door creaked open, and Luke entered with a large scroll in his hands. “Alpha,” he bowed low. “Morning, Luke,” I replied flatly. He laid the scroll on the table like they were cursed. “The financial reports, Alpha. Each pack’s account, sealed, signed, and submitted by the Alphas this afternoon at the council.” I pinned my gaze on him. “And if there are any mistakes and fraudulent traces?” My voice was low and dangerous. He swallowed hard. “Then they’ve signed their death warrants.” I leaned back, satisfied with his reply. He knew me too well. “Drop them and leave.” He turned to leave, but I stopped him. “Luke.” “Yes, Alpha,” “What’
Anna opened the door and rushed towards the bed, pulling Denis into her arms. Her mouth was wide open like she couldn’t believe her eyes. She began crying again, pulling Denis towards her. Tears of joy washed her face. Denis looked at me, doubting whether it was safe for her to speak. I smiled and nodded to her. “Stop crying, Mummy.” She mumbled, her voice low and sweet. Anna turned her face abruptly. “My baby can speak…” Her voice cracked as she cried. She hugged Denis tightly and turned to me, “Thank you, Ariana.” I smiled and walked out of the room to give them space to bond. I felt proud of myself. Mission accomplished. After a few minutes, Anna came out wearing the biggest smile. “Thank you for helping my baby.” She began, getting teary again. “W-What healers couldn’t do. We’ve done so many rituals under the full moon, no results. But within a few minutes, you have helped my daughter become herself once again.” “You are welcome, Anna. Glad I could help. I wish her a safe re
Although I knew how ruthless Arthur was, I wasn’t expecting this level of brutality. Why am I always mated to jerks? I face-palmed. Xavier was a first-class jerk, but this one? I didn’t even know where to place him. Who murders their pack members all because of food? “Well, someone who doesn’t claim his mate nor reject her but turns her into his personal maid,” I replied to myself in my mind. “You look worried sick, are you okay?” Jasmine said, looking at me weirdly. “Isn’t this madness worth being sick for?” “True, it is. But after all, he’s the Alpha. There is nothing peasants like us can do about it. We do as we are told and nothing more.” She replied truthfully.“I beg to differ.” I snapped, getting irritated by the whole situation already. Why would he waste the lives of his pack members just like that? Why couldn’t he punish him? “You needed to witness it for yourself that day. He was beaten black and blue, with Anna and Denis in front to watch. I mean, she was just a chi
I dropped the food and headed back to my room. After taking a shower, I lay on the bed, exhausted. I couldn’t help but replay the event that occurred a few minutes ago. What in the heavens’ name had just happened? The size of his manhood kept creeping into my mind, against my will. The length. The veins. It sent a tingling sensation to my inner thighs, making me warm. “Pervert,” I mumbled as an unknowing smile crept into my face. Slowly, my eyes became heavy, and after a while, I dozed off. “Hey, sweetheart,” Arthur leaned forward and pecked me on the forehead, pulling me closer into his warm arms. He engulfed me, showering soft kisses on my neck, lips, face, and arms. My body tingled under his touch, butterflies erupting in my belly. It felt surreal. “Mummy,” our little pup, Mark, ran into the room with wolf toys in his hands. He looked just like his father. He hopped on the bed and sat in our middle. “Hey, kiddo,” Arthur said, carrying him and tickling him on the bed. “Dad
