“What took you so long?” Eloise snapped as she came to meet me at the doorstep, eyes blazing with fury.

“Do you need me to turn back from here?”

She scoffed, clenching her jaw tightly. “Come in.”

She left the door wide open for me, and I walked inside.

I tried to ignore this woman after I heard she was sick, but something pushed me. To help her since I was the only one that could. I guess I can't change the fact that I'm a good person.

“Where is she?” I dropped my handbag on the couch, turning to Eloise.

“She's upstairs. In her room.”

And without another word, I left for her room.
