"I'll be out for a few hours. You can text me if you need something." Carrie told Kirby, slipping something into her pocket.

Kirby who had her eyes lowered onto a novel, hummed without looking up at her.

"Okay, that's it. Tell me what the problem is. Why have I been getting the silent treatment for the past three one week?" She asked, taking her seat beside Kirby.

"Nothing. I've just been busy with work and extremely stressed." Kirby responded, flipping a page of the novel.

"New York had way more matters that you had to deal with, yet, you had no problem dealing with them and still smiling at me. I insist that you tell me what I've done wrong."

Kirby finally looked up at Carrie and locked gazes with her for more than thirty seconds, before she returned it to her book.

Flipping open another page, she said, "I saw your guns."

Carrie didn't think much about it before she replied, "Its for protection. And it's also licensed."
