I felt numb, my hands kept picking at the corner of my fingers, peeling the skin that covered it. It was all I could focus on now, I didn't want to think of anything else.

But the mind was a treacherous place, it kept going back to the incident and I couldn't believe it. They'd played such a dirty trick on me and I had fallen straight into it, how stupid could I have been?

I was being held in a small room at the town’s cell house, I knew it was just time before I would be locked up in a proper cell room and the thought scared me. I heard the door open and I didn't look up until he spoke.

“Why did you kill him?” Alex asked, I looked up and saw he was seated opposite me, a long table separating us. His eyes were still cold.

“Where’s Damon?” I asked.

His eyes clouded. “Answer my questions first!”
