Damon’s Game (Vera’s POV)

My claws itch as Damon’s face appears, my wolf raging with a hatred that burned hotter than the moonstone against my chest.

The Starfang Pack stronghold’s training room smells of sweat and steel, its stone walls echoing with the weight of my past life’s betrayal—Damon’s false mate bond, his guttural laugh as he locked me in the rogue lair, Lana’s silver-laced gasoline searing my skin.

Now, he stood before me, posing as my tutor, his eyes glinting with a charm that once broke me.

I play the naive pupil, hiding my vengeance, but Lana’s smug gaze from the corner chills me—she’s plotting, and Damon’s her weapon. As he steps closer, his gaze lingered, as if he suspected something.
