3. Save Her

Alpha Lorenzo's pov

The wind picked up its pace, no longer playful but urgent, as if it was trying to outrun the sun. I sat graciously on the oversized wingback armchair just beside my reading table, a family heirloom that had witnessed generations of quiet moments.

As I flipped the pages of the book that I was reading, Kaira, one of my favorite mistresses, walked in

"My king, I came to..." she uttered out loud but I immediately interrupted her.

"I want to be left alone, Kiara, as you can see I'm busy reading" I said coldly, I didn't even bother looking at her face. 

My wolf could sense her face flicker with raw emotions as she stared at me, it was obvious that she was surprised.

"Your book is upside down, which makes it obvious that you're not reading." She said, shrugging her shoulders as she looked away. It was like she was a new wife that had just been ignored by her husband and that completely irritated me.

"The only reason you're still standing here and not dead is because you fucked me well last night. If you dare abuse that privilege by questioning my decisions, I'll make sure that today is the last day you will see the sun." I said authoritatively and that startled her.

"I'm sorry alpha Lorenzo," she bowed to me and hurriedly left the room.

I turned to my newspaper and indeed, it was upside down as Kiara had said. It's true that I had the newspaper in my hands but my attention was on something else.

It was on someone else.

That good for nothing alpha Jason.

News had just reached me that he had spread rumors about me having an affair with his wife.

How dare he?! How dare that shameless weak alpha use my name in his shenanigan?! Even the strongest of alphas dared not mention my name, but he had the guts to make a fake video of me.

As I sat in the library with furrowed brows, waiting patiently for beta Denver to return with news of his investigation, rage surged through my veins. 

The moon goddess had better save him because if Denver confirms that the rumor was true, I'll definitely pluck out his eyes from its socket and feed them to him before chopping off his body like meat for pepper soup.

Denver opened the door and walked in, his face was masked with rage and my wolf immediately detected that there was trouble.

"Greetings alpha Lorenzo," he said hastily, bowing to me but I wasn't in the mood for any pleasantries. The only news I wanted was that Jason has finally fallen into my trap.

"Save your greetings for your pregnant wife Denver, what did you discover?!" I was too impatient for his pleasantries. I have had a beef with alpha Jason for what his father did to my parents many years ago but I had no proof hence I couldn't formally deal with him.

But if I confirm that this was true, it'll definitely mean that my revenge was closer than I thought. And I promise him, my vengeance shall be swift

"It has been confirmed, there has been a video flying around the shadow pack. You were seen making out with Luna Lyla." He explained, reaching out for his phone to show me the video but I immediately rebuked him.

"Take the abomination off my face, Denver!" I spat on his face and he immediately removed the phone and tossed it back in his pocket.

I can never have anything to do with Lyla, aside from the fact that she wasn't as curvy as I love my girls, she was also too naive and weak.

Someone that can't even defend herself in a battle, a weak daughter of a strong man! For the first time, the saying 'a lion doesn't beget a goat' didn't prove to be true.

Even if I was drunk or she was offered to me as a slave I still won't accept her. She was useless that before my sight.

Someone that gave out her inheritance to an omega because of love? Definitely not my kind of person.

With Denver's testimony I already knew that my day was marked for greatness. They say that revenge was better when served cold, but mine will be served hot and it will be the BEST!

If everything goes as planned for me, it just means that Jason is in trouble! I'll make him pay dearly for everything his parents did to mine - for every pain my parents went through in his fathers hands I'll make him beg for my mercy and I won't show it to him, I'll make him bleed and there won't be anyone for him to turn to.

"... I carried out further investigation and found out that alpha Jason was never in love with Luna Lyla, he actually framed her up in order to eliminate her and get her out the way. News has it that she'll be killed by moon fall tomorrow in accordance with their pack's rule" Denver continued, his brow suddenly raised, it was like he just remembered something.

"It means you and Luna Lyla now have a common enemy, we could use her to our advantage in making alpha Jason pay for everything he did to your parents!" He said, snapping his finger.

Beta Denver has always been a smart fellow but this idea? It was out of this world!

"You're right Denver, we could help save her and use her to our advantage." I concurred, a brutal smile playing on my lips, it was a smile of revenge.

Immediately after her court case, my men stumped the shadow pack, disguised as women. After Lyla was hanged to death for a crime she didn't commit, my men let her lose and brought her body to the pack where my pack's best doctors will treat her.

So while the shadow pack was looking for her body, she was here with me.
