Rosette’s point of view ~~~

There was a strange flicker in Cesare’s eyes, brief but enough to throw me off. Did he not want to help me?

For a second I thought he would say something like I should go to Mr. Blakewood myself or maybe he'd say I should leave him out of this situation.

But instead he leaned back lazily, his lips curving in something I couldn’t read, and he asked in that unnervingly calm tone of his;

“What’s so good about being the chairman anyway? Shouldn’t you be more focused on who killed your father?”

I froze. The words hit me like a bucket of cold water and iced blocks.

My lips parted, but for a moment no sound came out. When they finally did, my voice was breathless.

“Of course I’ll find who killed him. Of course I will. But this—” I motioned around.

“This is more important right now. Claudia has more power than me, more people willing to fight for her. If I don’t do anything, she’ll take everything. The company, the empire—everything my father built will be ripped

  • Reborn Heiress: His Obsession    Chapter 42: Damn Him

    Rosette’s point of view~~~His mouth was fire against mine. It was consuming, like he wanted to taste every bit of me and leave nothing behind. My body betrayed me, melting into his touch, my lips moving with his as if we’d been doing this for years when this only makes it the third time we're sharing a kiss.Then his hand slid lower.Down my waist, down to my thighs. His palm gripped me firmly, possessive, the way only he could, as if my body already belonged to him. I nearly cursed when I remembered the way I begged him earlier today.My skin prickled with goosebumps, adrenaline rushing through me so fast I almost forgot to breathe.And then, his fingers brushed my zipper.The sound of metal teeth parting filled the silence between our kisses. His skin brushed the upper, hairy part of my vagina and my body shuddered.He was about to slip his hand inside when a jolt ran through me like lightning. My entire body tensed.No.I pulled back hard, stumbling away as if his lips were pois

  • Reborn Heiress: His Obsession    Chapter 41: Say The Word

    Cesare’s point of view ~~~The sting of steel against flesh should’ve made me grit my teeth, maybe even bite back a groan, but I just sat there, quiet, slouched into the leather couch as she dug the bullet out of my leg. The lamp behind her threw soft light against her face, casting shadows beneath her lashes, highlighting the wrinkle in her forehead every time I didn’t flinch.Her hands were steady. I’ll give her that. Maybe too steady for someone who claimed she didn’t want to be involved. The bullet finally came free with a slick sound, and she dropped it into a little transparent bag like it was evidence.Her eyes slid to me again. The kind of look she thought she was hiding but wasn’t. Weird, half-suspicious, half-curious. It was cute. Too cute.I chuckled low in my chest. “Why do you keep looking at me like that?”Her lips pursed. “Because you’re weird. Aren’t you feeling any pain?”I blinked at her, and it hit me. Right. I hadn’t made a sound. Not one grunt. Not one curse.

  • Reborn Heiress: His Obsession    Chapter 39: You're Hard?

    Cesare’s point of view~~~Pain was nothing new to me. It was familiar. It lived in my bones, carved its name into my skin years ago, and tonight was no different. Every throb in my ribs, every sting on my face, every sharp pull from the bullet in my leg, it all felt like old friends visiting again. I’d grown used to it. I could live with it.What I wasn’t used to was Rose in my arms. All those years, obsessing over her in secret, I was limited to jerking off to her naked form in my head, watching her from afar and being an asshole to her just so I could have her attention even if it came in the form of hatred.But this? And sex on a hospital bed, it was new. All new. Things I'd never thought would happen.Her small frame pressed against me, her head tucked against my chest, her warmth seeping into me like a drug I had no business touching. My arms tightened around her before I could think better of it, and fuck, I didn’t want to let go. She smelled of sugar and vanilla, that same

  • Reborn Heiress: His Obsession    Chapter 39: So Warm

    Rosette’s point of view ~~~When the call ended, the screen of my phone glowed back at me like an accusation. For a few seconds, I just stood there frozen, my mind struggling to process what had just happened. Cesare’s voice hadn’t even filled the line because there had been no voice. Only the sound of harsh, ragged breathing, and then I heard a low grunt just before he hung up.Pain. It had been pain, I was sure of it.My heart squeezed in a way I hated, something anxious unfurling in my stomach. I shouldn’t feel this way. I had no reason to. He was the kind of man who probably ran headfirst into trouble just for the thrill of it. He lived and breathed chaos; danger wrapped around him like a second skin. If he sounded hurt, then maybe it was just another night in his world.And yet…My hand moved before my brain could stop it. I redialed his number.The line rang. And rang. And rang.No answer.I let out a shaky laugh and rubbed my temple. “Why am I doing this?” I muttered, almost

  • Reborn Heiress: His Obsession    Chapter 38: The Contract

    Rosette’s point of view ~~~The moment I entered my father's study, I smelled his cologne. It lingered faintly in the air.The study also smelled of leather. But my father's smell clung to the room no matter how many times it had been aired out. I pushed the door shut behind me, leaning against it for just a moment before forcing myself forward.The desk sat like a beast in the middle of the room, dark wood stretching across more space than it needed to. His chair stood tall behind it, carved with designs I’d grown up staring at but never understood. Around me, shelves lined with neat binders, documents, old books—everything in its place, like he had left it frozen in time.But I wasn’t here to remember him.I crossed to the shelves, dragging my fingers across the spines of folders and binders. My eyes scanned the labels quickly, but nothing jumped out. Not yet.My pulse picked up as I started pulling them down, flipping through pages I barely registered before tossing them aside. I
