Xyla’s P.O.V. (Continued)

“You know what?” I spoke again, stopping crying, but didn’t let anger slip away from my tone.

“I, Xyla Thorne, the future alpha of The Dark Shadow Pack, reject you, Lucian Fischer, as my mate and the future beta.” I announced coldly, my voice still choked but loud enough to be heard by everyone.

“Xyla, no.” Lucian cried in pain and panic while clutching his chest hard and fell to his knees.

I also staggered backward while clutching my chest as it really hurt like hell. They didn’t know that I had stopped taking that potion a long time ago.

But I was still better than what I went through in my past life.

Lucian was more affected than me.

 Why?

Because I had been giving that potion, meant for me, to them for the past six months.

Lucian coughed blood while sprawling on the floor on his stomach.

“Lucian.” Naomi yelled aloud in panic but didn’t approach him.

I muffled my scream by biting my lips, still staring at Lucian coldly.

“What did you do, Xyla? He is your fated mate. You ….. you can’t do this to yourself, Xyla.” Mom cried, but her words only disappointed me.

She wasn’t heartbroken for me? She was worried about the alpha family's reputation.

“Accept the rejection, Lucian. You can be with Naomi after that or with whoever you want to be with. Let’s set free both of us from this cursed mate bond.” I demanded coldly, trying to stay straight on my feet, but my body still swayed a little.

“Please….  Don’t do this, Xyla. I was wrong. I committed a mistake. Please. I don’t want anyone else but you as my mate.” Lucian pleaded, but I just continued staring at him coldly.

By now, his family had also come to the room, and I heard them gasping in shock too.

He looked pathetic and disgusting, lying on the floor in his boxers, blood splattered around his upper body.

He wasn’t good beta material from the very beginning. Now, he looked worse than an omega.

“Accept the rejection, Lucian.” I roared, releasing my alpha aura to him. Both Naomi and Lucian were shocked and widened their eyes when my aura hit them.

Especially Naomi.

She went deathly pale when she realized that I was still as strong as I had always been.

“I….. I, Lucian Fischer, accept the rejection, Alpha Xyla Thorne.” The next wave of pain hit me hard, but I had already anticipated this pain.

Honey tried to take as much pain as she could to keep me strong.

Yet this pain was still nothing in front of what I endured when Naomi killed me.

Lucian screamed at the top of his lungs when the pain hit him. He spat the blood out, but the blood continued coming out of his mouth.

“Lucian.” His mother cried while running towards him.

“How you will handle their situation, I leave that to you, Father.” I spoke to my father coldly, and before he could say a word, I stormed out of the room.

Everyone outside the room scattered away immediately, giving me the space to walk away.

I didn’t run. I just kept my pace fast. My aura suffocated them, but I didn’t care about that.

For them, I was a wounded wolf who was betrayed by both her mate and her sister.

This is what I wanted them to feel about me right now instead of looking at me as their future alpha.

“Serve them right, girl. You nailed it.” Honey, my wolf, gushed, but it only made me feel sorry for her.

In the past life, she was too weak to stand the rejection because of the potion Naomi fed to us.

She was still weak, but she was also a Luna wolf.

Stronger than any other ordinary wolf or a high-ranking she-wolf.

“We nailed it, Honey. They provided me an opportunity on a golden platter, and I used it very well.” I replied to her coldly but couldn’t hide my pain.

“He never deserved us, Xyla. Not in this life, not in the past life.” Honey comforted me, and I smiled weakly.

I stopped after exiting the packhouse in the backyard. I needed to go for a run, or else my father would ask me to come back and try to clean the mess for Naomi.

This is what he always does, but I had no intention of playing the game according to his wishes now.

This was never my plan after I opened my eyes again two years ago.

“Sleep for now, Honey. Get your strength back. His people will be here tomorrow morning.” I instructed Rose in a low and concerned voice.

“Yeah.” She mumbled and yawned aloud before retreating deep in my mind.

I felt a pressure at the back of my mind. I knew that my father was trying to mind-link me.

It should be him. After all, I made his precious daughter the talk of the pack.

I started running towards the exit door of the backyard that led the path towards the forest line.

“What is it, Dad?” I asked him coldly through mind-link.

“Come back, Xyla. You can’t just run away after creating this mess.” He ordered me angrily.

“Creating this mess? You mean to say that I am the one who has an affair with my sister’s mate?” I asked him sarcastically.

He growled aloud, but he had no refutation of my accusations.

“If it aren't for my features being more like Grandma and you, I would have thought that I am adopted, Dad. What am I to you? A stepping stone for Naomi? Or a robot with no feelings and emotions?” I asked him again, my heartbreak and disappointment towards them evident in my voice.

I always had this question in my mind in the past life, but I never asked, fearing that it would make them feel bad and sad.

But I don’t care about them anymore.

“It’s not like this, Xyla. How can you be so insensible?” he yelled, and I scoffed aloud again, stopping near a thick tree.

“You aren’t betrayed by your mate and brother, Dad. So, yes, for you, I am the insensible one. Did you remember what day today is?” I asked him sarcastically.

I was sure that he didn’t remember because they had long forgotten everything related to me.

He didn’t answer, and I laughed; my laughter was filled with self-mockery. I kept laughing through mind-link so that he could hear me.

“You are wronged, Xyla. I ….. I can understand your inner turmoil, b…. but it has ruined Naomi’s reputation completely, Xyla. She made a mistake, but she is also your baby sister. Y…. you said by yourself that you treated her like your own daughter.” I cut off the mind-link when I couldn’t take his guilt-tripping speech.

“Bast*rd.” I muttered angrily, punching the bark of the tree in a fit of rage.

I groaned angrily when I felt the pressure on my mind again.

“What now?” I roared at the person who mind-linked me.

“We….. we just received a mail, Alpha. Alpha Xander Locke is coming to our pack today.” Peter, the future gamma, informing me anxiously. I narrowed my eyes in confusion.

"Who is coming?" I still asked him, thinking that I heard wrong.

He didn’t come today in my past life. Why now?
