MasukXyla’s P.O.V.
I must appreciate how quickly he came out of his shocked state and raised his hands towards me, shaking them badly.
“It’s not what it looked like, Xyla.” Lucian spoke to me in a panicked tone, coming towards me, fear written all over his face, but I growled menacingly, making him stop in his tracks.
Naomi also tried to come close to me, but she also stopped. I didn’t know why I was so angry when I already knew about their betrayal, but right now I was fuming in anger, ready to kill both of them at this very instant.
“Now, I understand why I was restless from time to time, feeling pain in my chest. It’s you two. Two people whom I trusted the most.” I spoke through my teeth, shooting daggers at them through my eyes.
Naomi turned eighteen five months ago, but she was involved with Lucian for almost a year.
I hit my chest with my fist, giving the whole situation a dramatic touch. Right now, none of my pain and anger was fake.
“So, that’s why you asked me to wait until my twenty-first birthday, huh?” I asked Lucian tauntingly.
Honey almost gagged in disgust at the back of my mind while seeing Lucian’s almost naked body.
“It… it’s not like this, sis. I…. I had a nightmare, a… and I.”
“You had a nightmare, and instead of calling me, your sister, who is only a corridor away from you, or instead of calling your mother, who is only a floor away from you, you called Lucian, my mate and your brother-in-law?” I growled aloud, shaking the whole room in the end.
“What’s going on here?” Dad roared while entering the room, but both my parents froze in their tracks.
Naomi was still reeking of Lucian’s scent, and the thick scent of s*x in the room was enough to understand what happened between them.
“I was scared, sis.” Naomi screamed dramatically, looking at my parents’ support.
“So, you had s*x with my mate because you are scared, huh?” I threw the accusation right after she stopped screaming.
“Did you forget that a werewolf will be in immense pain if his or her mate has s*x with someone else, Naomi? I was in so much pain that it woke me up early this morning. I ….. I thought th… that something is wrong with my heart, but i… it never crossed my mind th… that my beloved sister and mate are the ones who are causing this pain to me.” I added it while screaming and whimpering.
This was Naomi’s tactic to turn the situation in her favor.
As I said earlier, I changed a few things, and one of them is learning a few tactics from my beloved sister.
I kept on hitting my chest, showing my pain to my parents. “Xyla.” Mom held me tightly from behind, calling my name worriedly, pain and helplessness evident in her voice.
But more than that, I sensed her anger towards Naomi, which surprised and confused me.
They already knew that Naomi is having an affair with Lucian, and it’s their indulgence of her that makes her dare to do such a low thing.
“If you had your eye on him, you would have told me, Naomi. I sacrificed so much for you all my life. I would have given him to you to play with for as long as you want. You shouldn’t have caused me so much pain. How could you not think about the pain you forced me to endure, Naomi? Why?” I continued wailing like a broken soul as I portrayed myself in front of my parents and a few warriors who were now also standing outside the room.
Both Naomi’s and Lucian’s eyes widened in shock when I portrayed Lucian as a plaything.
A worst humiliation for a he-wolf of a high rank.
After all, I was still his mate.
“Xyla, calm down, honey. Calm down.” Mom pleaded in a shaky voice, tightening her embrace around my torso.
I deliberately raised my voice so that more people in the packhouse could hear us. Most of them already knew about Naomi and Lucian’s affair, but they kept their mouths shut because Naomi was the favorite daughter.
“B…. but you aren’t mated to him, sis. H… ow could you be in pain?” Naomi asked me while stuttering hard in fear, but she was more confused than fearful.
Because I shouldn’t have felt the pain of betrayal because of the poison that she was feeding me.
“Are you nuts, Naomi? They had acknowledged each other as their mates long ago. Even without the mate mark, they can feel each other’s feelings and emotions very well.” Mom yelled at Naomi angrily.
The amusing thing was that she wasn’t faking her anger. She was genuinely upset and angry with Naomi.
“I…. I can’t take this betrayal. I cherished my younger sister as if she were my own daughter, and yet she betrayed me in the worst way. Lucian is not related to me, but she is. How could my own blood betray me like this?” I continued wailing, throwing all my bottled-up anger and resentment towards Naomi and Lucian out of my chest.
“Calm down, Xyla. You are the future alpha. You can’t just give out yourself in emotions.” Dad commanded me sternly, but I wasn’t having it now.
If it were in the past, I would have shut my mouth and suppressed my emotions for the sake of family and pack, but not now.
That obedient and understanding Xyla was dead.
“Can you keep yourself calm if your mate has done something like this, Dad?” I asked him bluntly.
“Xyla.” He roared in a fit of rage; his eyes widened in shock and disbelief. Even my mother gasped aloud in shock.
I snapped my head towards my mother, looking at her with painful and watery eyes.
“You tell me, Mom. If you were in my shoes, would you have controlled your emotions just like Dad asked me to do?” I asked her, sparing none of my parents.
Her face was also clouded with shock and disbelief. I asked them this question because I wanted them to realize what their indulgence towards Naomi cost me.
I wanted them to think about what they asked me to endure in the past life and what they were about to ask me in this life.
“Ever since Naomi started understanding things, she always demanded every good thing that you got for me. Whether it was a toy, a book, a new dress, or a new shoe….. everything she asked for was for herself, or she threw fits.” I continued in a cracked voice, my tears now streaming down like a waterfall.
“You….. you always asked me to be the bigger sister, and I became a caring sister. Did I not, Mom?” I threw out other questions before reminding her how she always asked me to give in to Naomi’s demand.
“I should have given Lucian to her too if she had asked me, but this betrayal? This pain? She knew that their act would make me endure immense pain, and yet she chose to make me writhe in pain instead of…” I couldn’t complete the whole sentence as I was hyperventilating.
Even when I didn't feel anything but hatred towards them, I couldn't deny that it hurt so bad.
Xyla’s P.O.V.Sending Ethan away was for his own good. I wasn’t sure about a few things, but I didn’t want Ethan to be heartbroken after knowing who the real culprit behind his death in the previous life was.I shifted back to my human form when I reached the back of the old high school.I was around 12 when Dad shifted the school from this place to the present place, stating that the school was very close to the dungeons. That was a logical reason to shift the school, and no one objected back then. Now, I felt that this wasn’t the only reason. It had been eight years, and Dad hadn’t demolished this place and used this space to build something useful to the pack.I guess I was going to get my answer tonight.I hid myself at the top of a thick tree and watched people gather in the backyard of the school and put on a large t-shirt that I found hidden in the trunk. The corner of my lips curled up in a mocking smile when I saw the scene at the backyard.“Brian….. I need you to come here….
Ethan’s P.O.V. (Continued)“How did they succeed in entering the pack again?” Ruben yelled through the mind-link.He connected Xyla and me through mind-link.“You forgot that these witches are highly skilled, and they can use a portal spell to go to other places without being noticed,” Xyla replied to him calmly.Ruben snorted angrily, but she was right.“Did you notice that familiar scent?” I asked them with a grim expression.“Don’t run your horses wild, Ethan. They can disguise anyone, including bearing scents similar to our loved ones.” Xyla replied to me in the same calm manner, but I was now restless.“But I am sure that this scent is not fake. I can feel it through the bond,” I told them, uneasiness spreading in my chest.“Don’t panic. They can’t deceive us anymore.” Ruben comforted me, but suddenly stopped in his tracks.“What is it?” I asked him worriedly.“This…. This can be a trap…… a…. a setup to take us away from the dungeons…. To keep us busy with something else so that
Ethan’s P.O.V.A practical person like me will never believe me in stories like rebirth, but the way Naomi spoke, and Xyla reacted, I didn’t know why, but I believed Naomi. It was Xyla’s reaction that made me believe Naomi’s every word, especially about Xyla’s unborn pup’s death. We already knew that the dark witches were behind all the attacks on our pack. So, yes, I believed when Naomi said that a dark witch wants Xyla and her unborn daughter’s blood for some kind of ritual.Ruben held Xyla tightly in his embrace from behind when she stumbled backward.Through our bond, I could feel her distress and agony. She was in so much pain that I felt breathless for a few seconds.“You forgot that you are Xyla’s sister, Naomi,” Ruben spoke in a cold tone, making me furrow my brow.Naomi also looked at Ruben in confusion.“Of course, everything is about Xyla’s blood, but you also have the same bloodline. Why didn’t she go for you and your pups instead of Xyla?” Ruben asked, and I also nodded i
Xyla’s P.O.V.“Hey, little sis. How are you feeling now?” I called Naomi teasingly while stopping at the door of her cell. She looked at us with a blank gaze once and then moved his face in the other direction.“This is rude, little sis. We came to meet you, and this is how you greeted us?” I still taunted her; my hatred for her surged in my heart. Both Ethan and Ruben scoffed in disgust and hatred. She still didn’t answer, but I have a lot of patience when it comes to dealing with stubborns like her.“Do you know that your helpers who promised you the throne took Neelie out when they got the opportunity?” I threw the bomb at her, sounding so casual as if I were telling her about how nice the weather is today. This time, she showed a reaction. She looked back at me with the same blank gaze, but I saw a hint of murderous hatred in the corners of her eyes.&ldqu
Xyla’s P.O.V. (Continued)I would have guessed it before. She truly hid herself so efficiently and was still hiding very well.“Dad, for the next few weeks, involve Mom in the pack matters more. Give her something to keep her occupied. Everything that happened in the pack and in our lives, she is more disturbed than us.” I convincingly suggested to Dad, showing genuine concern for her.“You are right. Elara never behaved like this before. I am really worried about her now.” Dad mumbled, still glancing in Mom’s direction.I felt sorry for him.He didn’t know what happened to his mate.He should have sensed these changes. I furrowed my brows when I realized that he was completely oblivious to Mom’s condition.I finished my breakfast and stood up.“Where are you going?” he asked me when I was about to walk towards the door.“Security office. I need to check how Neelie escaped and who helped her by disguising Mom.” I told him truthfully. He knitted his brows first, and then his eyes widen
Xyla’s P.O.V. “I understand that it happened in a very weird way, Xyla, but what now?” Dad asked me in a serious tone, looking concerned and worried at the same time.We marked and mated, but we never told anyone that Xander and I were fated mates.“What now, Dad? Do you want me to leave the pack?” I asked him calmly without showing much expression.“It’s not like that, Xyla, and you know that very well,” he replied in frustration.“Don’t talk to your father like this, Xyla. You mated with Xander without any ceremony. This is already a big headache for us, and now you are showing arrogance,” Mom scolded me, but it only made me chuckle dryly.“Yes, I mated with him, and I now have his mark on my neck. His pack called me their Luna, and soon we will have my Luna ceremony. What is there for me to be ashamed of? He did that to save me. Dad was right outside my room. I didn’t know what was going on, but Dad knew, and he let this happen. What’s in there to show the arrogance?” I asked her
Nolan’s P.O.V.Everything was going alright. My life was set with my loving mate and two beautiful and capable daughters.Well, Xyla was capable just like she should be as the future alpha of the pack, and Naomi was a bit pampered, but she was sensible and adorable.Or this is what both Elara and I
Xyla’s P.O.V.For a few seconds, the whole world around me vanished when their gazes met.His dark black eyes were still as cold as I remembered them, but I was sure that I had tears in my amber eyes.Honey snarled in delight and tried to take over the control, but I pushed her back and blocked her
Xyla’s P.O.V. (Continued)My jaw clenched hard as those words felt like a taunt, her declaration that I didn’t matter to my parents.I still kept my face calm, waiting for my parents to say something.“Can anyone speak so brazenly in front of the alpha family and their guests, Alpha Nolan?” Xander
Xyla’s P.O.V.I could feel their eyes on me, but I didn’t look in their direction, not even once. They had something to discuss with me, and I knew what that was.But I wasn't in a mood to have an argument with them again. My goal was to finish my breakfast and then go away from them for the rest o
