Kate, Gracie and Catherine sat in a private booth of a cafe, sipping boba. It was lunch break for Kate and Gracie, while Catherine had begged to tag along with them.

Catherine still had the cast on, as the doctor said it needed another week before she could without it. Alexander had practically kept her on house arrest, since she was staying with him indefinitely.

She never stopped complaining that staying at home was boring and exhausting, especially since she was alone most of the times.

So when the girls invited her, she instantly agreed, and had suggested they get boba first.

Kate absentmindedly played with the straw, dragging it between her index finger and thumb. Her chin rested on her palm.

“Are you okay?” Gracie's worried voice snapped her out of her trance. “You’ve been like that since we got here”.

“Gracie is right”, Catherine nodded, worry etched on her face.

Kate's eyes darted between them.
