Chapter 4: We Meet Again

8:00am

Kate drove to a cafe, she was able to convince Felix not to follow her.

She parked her car and got in, taking a table. She ordered coffee and cookies. Kate was munching on her cookies when she heard a commotion.

"What do you mean, you can't deliver it. I came here because you guys serve the best coffee and cookies and you’re telling me you can't make the delivery", the woman shouted, annoyed, disturbing the other customers, as the lady behind the counter shrank in fear.

"Who could be making so much noise in the morning?" Kate thought, annoyed as she turned to look at the counter.

It was Rose, wearing a red suit, pants and jacket pairing it with pump heels.

"Wasn't she meant to be at the office, what was she doing at the coffee shop alone this early", Kate thought as she stared at Rose then spotted someone with her.

Apparently she wasn't, judging by the way the lady beside Rose dressed, she must be her secretary. What could they both be doing here?

"Sorry ma'am, there is an issue with the delivery service, so it won't be available this morning ", the frightened lady stammered.

"Then when will it be?", Rose demanded.

"In the afternoon ".

"Do you expect me to wait till the afternoon ", Rose yelled, annoyed. "I want the delivery this morning and now".

"But ma'am......".

"I want to see your manager now", Rose demanded.

"No need for that", Kate said, walking towards them.

"And who are you to decide that", Rose demanded, as she turned to look at the person who spoke, blood drained from her face seeing who it was.

"You ......", Rose stammered surprised.

"Yes, fancy meeting you here", Kate said in the same surprised tone, giving her a sweet smile.

"Why are you making a ruckus, don't you know you are disturbing everyone here", Kate stated, and the other customers nodded in agreement.

Rose turned red from embarrassment, "the nerve of this woman, she wished she could just strangle her", she thought.

"The lady said that delivery isn't available for now and also apologized for it. What more do you expect from her".

The lady behind the counter was happy someone came to her rescue as she breathed out a sign of relief, never had she met a troublesome customer like the woman in her front before.

"Since you are here why don't you deliver it yourself", Kate suggested.

"Excuse me!".

"Yes, why not. You've already taken the trouble coming here just to make a complaint, then it will be no trouble for you to just pick up your order", Kate explained.

"That is their job......", Rose yelled.

"It's your order right?", Kate interrupted.

"It is but.....".

"Simple so you'll just pick up your order since you are already here. Not only will you save the money for the delivery but also this lady here will be able to continue her job. It's a win-win for both sides", the other customers marveled at Kate's idea.

"That's a smart idea", a customer said, and the others nodded in agreement.

Once again Rose turned red, she was humiliated yet again by the same woman. Was the world playing tricks on her?

"How dare you, do you know who I am", Rose said enraged, the place went silent.

"Am I supposed to know you?"Kate said nonchalantly, adding fuel to the fire.

"I am Rose Andino, future heiress of the Andino family", Rose said with pride, her chin raised high.

"Oh, now I see where all the attitude is coming from,but you are still a future heiress not yet one, I'll advise you mind the way you treat people, cause you never know one day it could be taken from you", Kate said in a menacing tone with a smile on her face.

Rose stared at Kate in horror as her face turned pale, she shivered in fear.

"Anyway, I am Taylor Cosgrove, nothing else", Kate said with a neutral expression.

The whole place turned silent, then the manager walked in with someone following behind. It was a woman and she looked like she was in her early 20s.

"You called for me ma'am", the manager said, not knowing which of the women to address.

"No need, the matter has been resolved", Kate assured the manager with a nod.

The manager turned to Kate then Rose, she could sense the tense atmosphere between them, and could guess what must have happened.

She turned to look at Kate with a smile, "thank you ma'am", she said truly grateful.

Kate just nodded, "I'll advise you to deal with the delivery service as soon as possible ".

"It's already been dealt with ma'am, and I am sorry for any inconvenience we might have caused you", the manager apologized sincerely.

Kate just nodded with a brief smile and walked away.

Rose stood dumbfound, she was the one who came to complain but it was Taylor who got the apology. She walked out of the cafe angrily, not bothering to collect her order.

"Ma'am your order", the lady behind the counter called out but Rose didn't look back.

"I hate you Taylor Cosgrove", Rose said.

Kate didn't expect to meet Rose at the cafe, as it was a small shop compared to the high profile ones Rose went to, but their coffee and cookies were delicious.

Seeing Rose there, she couldn't let Rose leave the cafe peacefully. She was going to use every opportunity she gets to make Rose's life miserable.

"Oh Rose dear, I’m just getting started", Kate said to no one in particular, a smile on her beautiful face, as her eyes glinted with malice.

Kate sat in her car patiently, looking at her wrist watch. It was 8:30 am, 30 mins for her to meet Rose. As she had parked her car a few blocks away from FastTech Limited.

She didn't mind, in the meantime she'll talk to Andrew. Since she arrived at city S, she hadn't called him but only sent a message.

The moment she called, it was picked up in one ring.

"I told you to call me once you've settled in but you didn't", Andrew complained displeased.

"I know, I’m sorry. I won't do it again", Kate apologized in a cute tone.

Andrew signed, "how can I stay mad, when you talk like that", he said making Kate chuckle.

"So how are you settling in?", He asked worried

"I'm settling just fine Andrew".

"If you want I can book you the next flight back home", Andrew suggested.

Kate sensed how worried he was,making her smile,"you don't have to worry Andrew, I’m fine and I can take care of myself ", she assured. She heard Andrew sign at the other end.

"Ok if you say so, I’m just worried about you Kate. Just know I'm here for you whenever you need me and I love you", Andrew said genuinely.

Kate paused, unsure of how to answer, she had a feeling Andrew liked her, she did like him but as an elder brother.

"Don't worry, I'll let you know if I need any help"

"Okay", Andrew said, he wanted Kate to say I love you back, he was disappointed she didn't.

He loved Kate not as a sister but as a woman who had captured his heart, but didn't have the courage to tell her.

He wanted her to be done with her revenge and come back to city X, to him. So they could live happily ever after, once he confesses his feelings to her. He thought with a goofy smile on his face.

"I can't believe, you got me a bodyguard", Kate complained

"It was necessary".

Kate rolled her eyes.

"You are now the hot gist online,your encounter with Rose is all over the net. So I had to take precautionary measures Incase Rose decides to attack back", Andrew said in a matter of fact tone making Kate chuckle.

"Don't you think you've done enough to her already, just come back home". Andrew pleaded

"No , in fact the real fun is just about to begin", Kate said as a matter of fact with an evil smirk on her face.

Rose stared at the walk clock in her office expectantly, 5mins to 9am and she'll finally sign the contract with TAC Limited and meet the CEO.

Rose found it weird that the CEO was coming, and would work with them, as it was stated in the contract. She knew she wouldn't leave her company and work for another, no matter the price but Rose had to say it was an opportunity for her to get close to the CEO and convince whoever it was to make them their business partner.

That would really boost up their business, and the Old Man will have no choice but to make her the heiress. Rose thought with a wide grin but It turned to a frown remembering what Taylor said.

She hated that woman-Taylor, with every fiber of her body, as she always got humiliated whenever they met. The world must really be playing tricks on her cause how can the same person humiliate her twice.

"I never wish to see that woman again", Rose said and if she did, she'll make sure to strangle her.

"Ma'am it's time", Stacy, Rose secretary informed.

Rose nodded and walked out of her office with Stacy, following closely behind

10:20am

Rose paced the entrance impatiently, it was 20 mins after 10 and their guest still hadn't arrived.

"I thought they said the CEO is punctual, the person still hasn't come. Who does he think he his", Rose yelled annoyed.

"It's a she not a he", a voice said, catching their attention as they all turned to see a figure catwalk towards them.

She walked elegantly with confidence, her aura powerful and domineering.

Rose felt the clothes the woman wore looked oddly familiar.

The woman slowly took off her shades, "we meet again, Rose Andino", Kate said in an aloof tone, mischief in her eyes.

"No it can't be, she can't be the one. The world must be playing jokes with her", Rose denied in her head, staring at Kate surprised.

"So shall we get on to signing that contract", Kate said in a professional tone.

Rose snapped out of her reverie, "I think you are in the wrong place Miss Cosgrove" Rose said confidently this was her turf, so Kate couldn't humiliate her.

"You can't be the CEO of TAC Limited", Rose said, eyeing Kate.

Kate raised her eyebrow questioning.

"In fact, I think you are an imposter, and I'll call the police right now", Rose said about dialing 911.

"Me, an imposter. I can sue you for libel you know, you are making a very big mistake if you call the police ", Kate warned with an amused look. This was what she expected from Rose.

"Really!", Rose paused to look at Kate with a smirk.

"Believe it or not I am TAC Limited CEO, you'll just make a fool of yourself calling the police. Instead you would be in jail for defamation of character", Kate warned, Rose stood rigid in fear.

Even the other workers who stood to watch could feel the weight of Kate's word causing them to shiver.

Rose swallowed the lump in her throat not ready to back down. "We'll just have to see. Security take this woman out", she ordered, pointing to Kate, a triumphant smile on her face.

The two bodyguards were about to grab her, Kate stood not making any attempt to move. When suddenly someone pushed her away and tackled the guards within the blink of an eye.

"Ma'am are you okay?".

"Felix", Kate uttered, surprised.

"Don't worry I'll let Mr Cain know of what happened today".

"Mr Cain", Rose thought there was only one Mr Cain she knew. It couldn't be the same man the dark skinned guy was talking about.

"You mean Andrew", Kate probbed.

"Yes ma'am",Felix nodded.

Rose felt like a bucket of cold water was being splashed on her, as the realization hit her.

Taylor was really the CEO of TAC Limited, who else will be daring enough to call Andrew Cain by his first name.
