At the Andino mansion

"Care to explain this young lady", Nathaniel demanded in a harsh tone, frightening Rose. This was the first time he had spoken to her in such a manner.

"She's the one who started it", Rose defended.

"Really Rose, every single thing was recorded. And you still dare lie to me", Nathaniel shouted in anger. Tiffany held her fuming husband trying to pacify him.

"Nath you have to calm down", Tiffany coaxed.

"How can I calm down Tiffany, have you read the comments!",

"Yes I have, but shouting at her just makes it worse", Tiffany tried to reason with her husband.

"No it's necessary Tiffany, so she'll know what she did was wrong", Nathaniel said angrily.

Rose didn't pay attention to the couple as she was in her own world. Looking at the headline again, staring at Kate a little longer".

"She got humiliated today and also shouted at by Nathaniel all because of that woman. She was going to make sure she pays", Rose swore.

Meanwhile

Kate took the taxi to her apartment at the heart of the city. Andrew suggested he ordered a driver for her but she opted against it.

It was an apartment she had bought before her accident under a fake name as she didn't want her parents finding out.

Kate had already settled, not like there was much to do anywhere, the house was already prepared for her arrival.

Kate sat down on her bed when she received a notification that Rose had cash in the check. A sly smile appeared on her face.

"Rose took $1000, she was going to make sure she took 10 times the amount", she swore.

Kate was going through her phone when she saw an interesting headline making her burst out laughing.

"She hadn't even started her revenge, and she had already caused trouble for Rose",

Looks like the heavens were on her side. "Watch out Rose cause more things are coming your way", Kate said to no one in particular.

"Uncle Charles, are we there yet", a six years old girl said as she looked at her Uncle driving the car, her mum in the passenger seat.

"Almost dear", Claire said to her daughter Katie who had been jumping with excitement.

While the man who was driving nodded, he glanced at his niece with his black eyes and continued driving. He was the one who had bumped into Rose at the airport, Charles Donovan.

Charles Donovan was the 2nd child of Bryce and Stephanie Donovan and also heir of the Donovan family.

He had an elder sister Claire who had a 5yrs old daughter Katie, and who owned a fashion salon and a junior brother Carl who was about to finish college.

The Donovan family is a very rich and influential family in the city and the country. Old money was what they were called as they had a lot of wealth which could last them for generations, as it was passed on by their forefathers.

They dealt in several businesses like resorts and restaurants but the Donovan family were popularly known for their car company which was their major business. It was #1 car company in City S and the country.

The one in charge was none other than Charles Donovan, CEO of Donovan Car Enterprise, the king of the business world.

They finally arrived at the Donovan mansion.

"We are here", Charles announced as he stopped the car at the entrance.

"Yeah!", Katie said happily as she jumped out of the car.

Claire got out of the car and held Katie's hand, "aren't you going to come in", she asked her brother who still sat in the driver seat.

Charles sat in the car, a hesitant look on his face.

"Don't you want to see grandpa and mum".

Charles looked at his sister, "he did but was also avoiding them for a reason".

"Fine", Charles signed and got out of the car, he walked to the door with his sister and Katie, dragging their suitcase along with him.

"Grandma I'm home", Katie announced once they got in.

"My princess is home", Stephanie said as she walked down the flight of stairs. She paused once she got down when she saw her son with them.

"Oh!, Look who decided to drop in", Stephanie said in an angry tone, her arm crossed as she refused to look at her son.

"Mum", Charles said with a groan as he walked up to her but Stephanie dodged him and instead went to pick up Katie.

"How was your flight dear", Stephanie asked Katie, pinching her cheek lightly.

"It was fun", Katie nodded. "I missed you grandma", she said, wrapping her arm around Stephanie's neck, giving her a kiss on the cheek.

"I missed you too. My little princess is looking beautiful and all grown up", Staphanie complimented making Katie giggle.

"You are also looking very beautiful grandma", Katie said.

"Really?. I told your grandpa that I was still young and beautiful but he didn't believe me", Stephanie said with a huff.

"When did I ever say that, of course you look exactly like the first time we met", a man said as he walked towards them.

"Grandpa", Katie said excitedly as she ran towards Bryce who picked her up.

"Someone is here for the holiday", Bryce said and Katie nodded with a smile on her face.

"Yh", Claire nodded. "I thought it would be good if Katie spent the holiday here".

"You thought good dear", Stephanie said as she gave her daughter a hug.

"It's good to have both you and Katie here with us. At least you care about us, unlike someone else'', she added with an eye roll.

"C'mon mum, you know it's not like that", Charles said with a sign.

"C'mon Katie let's go to the room", Claire beckoned her daughter.

"Okay mum", Katie nodded and got down from Bryce's arm.

"Bye grandma and grandpa ", Katie waved and walked away with Claire.

"Bye dear", Bryce said while Stephanie gave her a sweet smile and waved back.

"So tell me what it's like then", Stephanie demanded with her hands akimbo. "That you didn't think it was right for you to visit us", she yelled in anger.

"Dear please calm down", Bryce coaxed as he walked over to his fuming wife and wrapped his arm around her.

"Why should I?", Stephanie yelled.

"Son please go and see your grandpa, I'm sure you want to meet him", Bryce told his son as a cue to leave.

"Sure dad, thanks", Charles nodded and headed to his grandpa's room.

"I can't believe you didn't let me scold him", Stephanie said annoyed.

Bryce rubbed his forehead," his not a small child anymore Steph ", Bryce reasoned but Stephanie only huffed in annoyance and walked away.

"Don't tell me you are angry", Bryce said as he chased after his wife.

"Grandpa," Charles called out as entered the room. The room was dark, he looked for the light switch when they suddenly turned on.

"Look who is here my ungrateful grandson", Ryn said with a hiss, lying on his bed, his upper body slightly raised. Old Man Donovan as he was popularly called was Bryce dad and Charles grandpa.

"Not you too grandpa", Charles groaned

"Don't you dare give me that attitude young man", Ryn warned with a stern look. He was getting old with wrinkles on his face but he still had that powerful aura around him.

Old Man Donovan was diagnosed with a sickness which causes him to age quickly, no one has been able to find out the cause.

Charles' face softened as he walked towards his grandpa and held his hand which was rough and frail. "I'm sorry grandpa, next time I'll try to visit more", he promised.

Ryn rolled his eyes, "you better". "Since you are here, am sure you have found me a granddaughter-in-law", he asked with an expectant smile.

"Not that again grandpa", Charles groaned. "Have not, you don't expect me to find a wife just like that, it's not easy", Charles reasoned.

"Nonsense", Ryn hissed. "You are 32yrs, already and still haven't settled down".

"I met you grandma at the age of 26, while your dad was 28 when he met your mum".

"That's you guys", Charles shrugged. "Am not ready to settle down yet".

"That stupid, when will I see my great-grandchildren. Am not getting any younger you know".

"Don't worry grandpa you'll live long", Charles shrugged.

"I'll live long, only when you decide to settle down and have a family", Ryn said sternly.

Charles signed in defeat, rubbing his forehead.

"If you don't find a wife in a week time, then I'll find one for you", Ryn concluded leaving no room for argument.

"What!", Charles said with a bewildered expression.

"You heard me right".

"Seriously grandpa in a week time, you didn't even say a girlfriend but a wife", Charles said in anger.

"That's what I said", Ryn said calmly.

"If you don't at least introduce me to someone who is worthy of being your wife I'll find one for you". Ryn concluded while Charles stayed silent. There was no point arguing, whatever the Old Man says is final.

Charles could only regret in his head why he decided to enter the house and not just drive straight to his apartment.

********

It was Monday already as the weekend flew by quickly. The incident at the airport had died down a little but that didn't stop people from talking about it.

Kate woke up In a good mood, today was going to be her first official meeting with Rose. Yes, they had already met but this time she was going as their new business partner, Taylor Cosgrove.

After her accident Kate promised to make a name for herself, and after 4yrs of hardwork and failure, she did .

She was the CEO of TAC Limited, her own car company but no one knew it was hers or Taylor's as she decided to keep it a secret from the public.

The only thing the public knew was that TAC Limited was controlled by Andrew but someone else was really behind the growth of the company.

It was amazing how within 4 years TAC Limited became the #1 car company in the country, and all other companies were aiming to sign a contract with them, just like FastTech Limited.

Kate wore a black pencil skirt stopping at her knees with a fitted white long sleeve shirt neatly tucked in, pairing it with black peep toe heels. Her hair tied into a sleek ponytail, she grabbed her Chanel handbag and left the house.

She saw a white Nissan GT-R parked in front of her house, "must be her ride", she thought.

"She told Andrew not to, but he didn't listen. She had to say he knew her taste", she thought with a smile staring at the sports car. She walked towards the car, suddenly the driver seat opened.

"Hi ma'am, I am Felix. And am your bodyguard ", the young man, Felix, introduced with a slight bow.

Kate rubbed her forehead, "seriously Andrew".

"My bodyguard ", Kate said as she eyed the dark skin guy in front of her.

Felix scratched the nape of his neck, feeling a little bit uncomfortable with the way Kate eyed him.

"Hi Felix, I’m Taylor. Can I trust you?".

Felix was taken back by the question but replied anyway, "yes ma'am", he said in a firm tone.

"Good, first don't refer to me as ma'am but Taylor. We are probably agemates, so let's be civil".

Felix nodded he thought the same too, his new boss wasn't old but young and nice.

"Okay Felix".

"Sure Taylor", Felix smiled.

"You can go , I'll drive myself today".

"But ma'am .......Taylor, it's my job to ", Felix tried to protest.

"No but Felix, if I need your help I'll let you know", Kate assured, Felix looked at her unsure.

This wasn't what Felix expected on his first day, was this really what he is going to be paid for.

"Just see it as, you are doing a friend a favor", Kate convinced.

"A friend ....", Felix thought.

Even Kate found it weird saying the word friend after a long time but for some reason she was comfortable using the term friend with Felix.

The room door barged open, revealing a worried looking Charles, rushing over to her side. She creased her forehead in confusion at him. “What's wrong darling I heard you scream and..", the rest of his words getting stuck in his throat, sitting at the edge of the bed beside her, cupping her face. “Why are you crying?” Kate grabbed his wrists, his hands still on her face, giving him a reassuring smile or tried to but came out forced instead. “I’m fine really”, she croaked. Charles stared at her unconvinced, his eyebrows scrunched together, trying to make out whether she was lying or not, dropping his hand at his sides with a sigh.“I was just thinking about my parents, that’s all”, She said, placing her hand over his on the bed.Charles nodded gently and entwined their fingers "Do you miss them?"Kate's face softened "I do.... a lotHe gave her hand a light squeeze in comfort."But spending with your family yesterday", she continued, her voice softer. “I’ll go bring some more wine for us”, Stephanie said excitedly, leaving the room and forgetting to fully close the door behind her. Kate nodded with a smile. "Sure". Stephanie was so carefree and warm, and could easily light up anyone's mood. Kate had instantly warmed up to her. At first, she had thought she'd be nervous when Stephanie requested they spend time together, but it turned out to be the complete opposite. A blink caught her eyes. She turned her head to the door, unable to hold her curiosity. Quietly, she stood up and walked out of the room. The blinking came from a hand lock placed on a side table, it was made of metal and decorated with diamonds. She picked it up, admiring how beautiful it was, but the hands weren't moving. It must have stopped working. She turned the knob gently, making a cranking sound as she did. The hands of the clock began to move with a soft click sound. Smiling in satisfaction, she placed it back on the table. When she heard laughte

SOME MINUTES AFTER DINNER, "Are you sure of what you are doing son?” Bryan asked, his gaze steady as he sat across from Charles on one of the couches in the study. Charles met his father's eyes without hesitation. “Very such”, he replied in a calm, deadpan tone. “I love Taylor, and I’m willing to sacrifice everything, for her, for us and for our future”. “And Rose?” “What about her?” Charles said flatly, not interested in discussing his so-called fiancee. "She is still your fiance...”, Bryan reminded him gently. “An arranged marriage I never asked for", Charles cut in. "It was decided for me but that will be taken care of soon - Rose will be out of the picture and his life”. Bryan leaned back slightly. “You know I was never in support of your engagement with Rose”, he admitted, a regretful look flickered across his face. Charles gave a faint nod. “I know. It was grandpa’s doing”. “That sly old man”, he thought, shaking his head. What his father didn’t know was the

She jerked at the sound of her name, clamping her legs shut and trapping Charles' hand between her thighs, letting out a quiet squeak. "Taylor, dear, are you alright?" Tiffany asked, casting her a worried glance. Kate nodded quickly, biting her lip, barely holding back a moan. Charles pried her legs apart again completely unfazed, cupping her sensitive spot, before slipping a finger inside her. She gripped her fork tightly, sneaking a glance at him. He had a neutral expression on his face, eating like he wasn't driving her insane under the table. Her eyes dropped to her plate. Was he trying to get them caught? Her body betrayed her completely, hips shifting towards him. Her walls clenched around his finger, just as he slid in a second one. A faint whimper escaped her throat. A wave of pleasure built in the pit of her stomachs, her thighs trembling slightly. She clung to the edge of the table for support, struggling to keep her expression neutral, while his fingers kep

It was just his mum and dad she was having dinner with, as his grandpa had gone out of the city for his monthly check-up, so he won’t be joining them. They stopped in front of the big wooden double doors, Kate felt her anxiety creeping back. “Ready?” Charles asked, glancing at her, his hand that held hers squeezed it in a supportive manner. She nodded, as she watched him raise his hand to ring the bell. The urge to tell him she wasn’t ready yet, just at the tip of her tongue when the door suddenly flung open revealing a beaming Stephanie. “Taylor darling”, she greeted enthusiastically, engulfing her in a hug, catching the latter by surprise. Charles stared at his mother with a baffled expression. “I'm here too mum”, he said but she ignored him. He walked further into the house seeing as he was ignored. Stephanie pulled away from the hug, not sparing her son a glance. “My darling, you look beautiful”, she praised. Kate blushed shily, “Thank you Mrs Donovan”. “Wha

“I still love him but I guess that’s all it’s gonna be”, she sighed dejectely, her gaze on Kate. “They say your first love is always hard to forget”. “Well she forgot about Kyle, probably because he was a d*ick”. “And why are you telling me this?” Kate asked, her eyebrows raised in confusion. “Because I figured out who you are?” Her breathing hitched, masking her uneasiness. “What do you mean?” "Taylor Cosgrove, CEO of TAC Limited. You came and stole the heart of every girl's dream guy in the city, Charles, you did something I couldn’t do and have been trying to for years, I’m jealous”. “You’re different from all the other women I have met and yet you remind me of someone I know”, She added with a displeased frown on her face, more at the person Kate reminded her of. “I won’t come in between you and Charles because honestly I still prefer you over his so-called fiancee”, she confessed with an eyeroll. “You mean Rose?” Ariana glanced at her phone, standing up not an
