Chapter 14 Voice

"Even when you are in pain, you continue to make inquiries about other people!" Leah's response was almost a roar.

"Mommy, it's not my mouth that hurts; it's my nose". Esme explained. She took her mother's arm and swinged it playfully while they waited for the family doctor to arrive. Leah called her so quickly.

"Her physical condition could not be described as anything but excellent. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her. It's likely that what she said caused her to run her nose into something, but the reason is unclear ". The doctor reached a conclusion.

"Did she really not break her nose?" Leah did not withdraw her question and continued to press the issue.

"No, she did not". Since the doctor is already familiar with Leah's condition of overthinking things, she responded patiently to all of her questions.

Leah exhaled a sigh of relief after hearing the response that the doctor had given.

"I am grateful to you for your assistance." Leah cracked a grin.

"It's a pleasure."
