Dawson

My heart was filled with nervousness as I walked around the Crescent Moon pack. I'm scouting to see if there is a way for me to sneak into the pack. I knew that if I'm to be seen by the patrol guards things would be bad but I still kept on moving as this might be the only chance for me to be part of a pack again.

I have always looked forward to shredding off the aura of a rogue on me and become an official member of a pack but I haven't been able to, and now that the mysterious leader of rogues had approached me telling me to join him and once his plan works out he will let me join his pack. His plan is to take over this pack, his plan might be absurd but I knew that he would treat me well if he managed to take over the pack and I planned on doing all I can to make that work.

The reputation of the rogue's alpha has always been widely spread, packs are wary of him. He might not be able to dominate packs but any pack he sets his eyes on would end up in ruins. He has always been protective of his member's, and he is powerful, he appears mysteriously and no one is aware of his background. I was excited when he approached me personally.

I would have joined him even if he hadn't told me that I would be able to join his pack if I would have followed him as he is my role model.

I looked around with nervousness and excitement trying to figure out a way for me to sneak into the pack, and if possible spy on the pack and report back to Carter (the rogue's alpha).

The scent of vanilla and chocolate filled my nose. I took in deep breaths which made me excited. I could feel my inner wolf screaming with excitement. I knew instantly that my mate was around, and not caring about the outcome of being caught, I hurried toward the direction where my mate was.

“Mate!!” I growled as I got closer to my mate. I forgot everything about me and all I could think of is to be with my mate.

Just like everyone else, I wish to have a mate and be with my mate but my status as a rogue made me realize that I might not be able to meet my mate but knowing my mate is close to me made me happy.

I felt uneasy after a while, I felt a malicious intent fill the air and I stopped on my track as I realized something was wrong. A beautiful woman came into view, and my eyes lit up with happiness as I realized she was my mate.

“I, Shirley Pearson, rejected you Dawson Ronald, as my mate” She uttered immediately her figure came into view, and my heart stopped beating.

Pain filled my heart, and I placed my hand on my chest trying to ease my pain, and before I could figure out what was going on and why I was rejected, my mate collapsed. I was in a daze as I tried to figure out what was happening, it was then that a girl appeared in front of me catching my mate before she could fall to the ground.

I stood on the spot dumbfounded as I tried to understand what just happened. I could see the disdain in her eyes when she rejected me, there was also a hint of anger in her eyes. I knew that there is a high chance that I will be rejected if my mate is not a rogue like but being rejected with disdain made me angry. I knew that she must have felt the aura on my body which made her realize that I was a rogue but being rejected as soon as she saw me hurt my pride.

“Why?” I asked as I stared at my mate who had collapsed with unwillingness, and anger.

“Sorry about that. I don't know what's wrong with her today, she has been behaving weirdly since she woke up, you can stay around and I'll inform you once she wakes up” the girl who had caught my mate earlier said as she carried my mate. She left in the direction of the pack leaving me alone to maul over what just happened.

My fist was clenched as I stared at the direction of the pack with anger and frustration in my eyes. Everything that happened earlier felt like a dream as I could hardly believe it. I had always wished for a mate but I was immediately rejected by my mate the moment she saw me.

I knew that there must be something wrong somewhere as there was no way my mate would have rejected me with anger and hatred. I knew that all of this wouldn't have happened if I had been a member of a pack, she must have a thing against rogues and this made my determination to work for Carter stronger. I knew that with his help I would be able to conquer her after he takes over the pack.

I continued scouting the place trying to complete the work assigned to me by Carter. It was hard for me to continue due to my doubts and anger but I managed to finish my work. I returned to the place where Carter and I agreed to meet up. I was surprised to see him there. He had a sinister smile on his face and I tried hard to figure out why he was happy.

“Good evening, alpha” I greeted respectfully as I bottled up my doubts.

“Good evening. Do you get the job done?” He asked immediately.

“Yes, I found a way in” I recounted the route I had found that can be used to sneak into the pack, and he nodded his head with an encouraging smile on his face.

“Okay, if there's nothing else you need to report I'll be on my way, and when there's a need for you to act you will be contacted” he said with a short pause before continuing. “Your behavior still needs to be checked before you can truly join me,” he said and with that he turned to leave but I stopped him.

“Why did you choose me out of all the people around you? Why did you let me visit that pack? Why?!” When he approached me at first, I was happy but it wasn't until I realized my mate was a member of that pack that I knew something was fishy.

I knew that there was no way he would have come to me if he didn't know about my mate being a member of the pack.

“Do you know that my mate is a member of that pack?” I asked again when he didn't respond.

“You don't need to be worried, I know a lot of things that you aren't aware of. All you need to do is follow me and you'll be able to get your revenge, you will be with your mate” he said with a smirk on his face, and he left leaving me lost in thoughts.

Different thoughts filled my head as I tried to figure out if he had ulterior motives for approaching me. I knew that he doesn't need to scheme against me as he can kill me instantly without going through all the trouble. I knew that all I need to do now is follow his lead and everything will be alright.

Shirley “Hey, what are you thinking about in a daze” a pitch tone voice jolted me out of my daze. My eyes lit as I hurriedly jumped up with a cautious look on my face. I stared around with uncertainty as I tried to figure out what was going on and why I am here. My eyes landed on the figure in front of me who was looking at me with a worried look, a look of shock morphed on my face as I stared at the figure.“How…are… you here?” I stammered after a while, with my eyes constricting from time to time.My heart thumbs heavily as I stared at Aurora with my mind running wildly while trying to figure out what was going on. I knew something was wrong, and I tried hard to remember the events that happened earlier. My heart skipped as my memory came gushing back. I remembered it all, I remember Dawson's betrayal, and how he had injected me with something that made me lose consciousness. I had thought that whatever he had injected in me would kill me but it seems that's not the case. I would

CHAPTER 2Shirley It's been months since Dawson and I were coronated, and I felt nothing but happiness in the past few months as I was being cared for by him. True to his words he abstained from the pack's matter, and he has always been home supporting me from behind. It hurt me that he isn't involved in the pack's matters but I was glad that he is truly happy. I feel happy as I am close to my due date which will be in a month's time. My stomach has noticeably become bigger as I close in on my due date. I couldn't help but think about the day I decided to leave the pack without caring about my parents' words, and I was glad that I made the decision back then as I would have lost Dawson to someone else if I hadn't done that, and I would have been my lose as he is a great man. I placed my hand on my stomach as I glanced at it with a noticeable smile on my face. I felt the subtle movement of my unborn child; “Are you excited to meet your father?” I muttered under my breath with a smil

Shirley “It’s all my fault, if I hadn't left the pack back then all this wouldn't have happened,” I wailed as tears dropped down my face, my eyes was foggy as I stared at the grave of my parents. I could clearly remember the last time we saw each other, the memory of that day isn't a pleasant one to remember. I argued with them because they did not accept Dawson, my mate because he is a rogue. They judged him because he was a rogue without knowing him, and that hurt me badly as Dawson had told me that they might be against our relationship, he advised me to reject him as there is no way he would be accepted into the pack. His words hurt me, and it made me realized that we discriminate against rogue's.That made me did the unthinkable, and that is leaving my pack for him. I wanted to lay down a good example for others by leaving the pack for my mate, the moon goddess has her own reasons for making him my mate's and as she is our creator, rejecting my mate is a blemish to her name.No
