Aurelia's Pov

My eyes blinked open, I could barely believe that I was really back, whether this is a prank only time will tell but since I'm here I was going to make the most of it.

“Elle?” I called.

“Hey Lia, What'sup” she replied.

“Where's Alan and Kane?”

“On their way. You've been acting really weird” her eyes lit up with concern, “Sure you're okay?”

Warmth spread through my chest, in my past life I had let the only ones who truly cared about me die under my watch while letting a man make me think I was being too paranoid.

Not again.

“I'm fine. Help me pick out my outfit.” I headed straight into the shower, I had a lot to do and if my memory serves me right a week from now is when Edgar will arrive to pressure us into the marriage alliance.

My teeth ground against each other so much that I could practically feel my veins bulging through my forehead.

“Stop staring like that, you look like you want to murder the world.” Elle grumbled.

“Sure whatever you say mom” I teased.

“Silly” she rolled her eyes but continued rummaging through my wardrobe to find me something to wear.

Steam rose into the air as I let the hot water wash down my body, the sting was a reminder of everything that had happened and exactly what I needed to do.

“Here.” She handed me the two pieces she had chosen with our insignia intricately sewed in.

I ran my hands across it, I had never had the chance to so much as see this insignia after the marriage not to even talk of wearing an outfit. This is good, a breath of fresh air.

“They're at the meeting room,” Elle announced.

“Good, let's go, is everyone there?”

“I believe so,” She nodded.

“Let's go make an appearance best” my lips stretched into a smile.

I led Elle down the familiar halls and straight to the same hall where I had condemned myself in my past life.

“Captain,”

“Boss”

“Captain”

Greetings rang out as we entered, I nodded in response walking straight to the center, the noisy hall quietened, curious eyes looking at me and wondering why I had called them abruptly, even Elle had been surprised.

“The wolves will be here to ask for an alliance in a week from now.” My voice bounced off the halls.

They all maintained my gaze, the news wasn't a new one, we had seen it coming at some point but no one has dared speak openly about it.

Letting the first part of my words sink in I continued, “And in that note, I wish to sound my response to their demands now.

”The hall had fallen into a pin drop of silence, my eyes scanned their faces, my comrades, men who fought with me, who trained in the same camp as me, choosing me as their leader and never looking down on me for being a woman, here they respected power.

“And my response is No” I dropped the bombshell, “I know you may have expected me to accept but we are soldiers, soldiers that protect humans from animals who think they can take over our home, and want to use marriage as a pretext to deceive and take away our home, if the alliance was so great, they should marry one of their females to us instead.

” They stared at me blanky for a minute, all frozen in place, this was not supposed to shock them so much, but my mind was pretty made up

A loud laughter suddenly boomed through the halls, “That's the Spirit, if they want a marriage alliance they should bring their beta, I wouldn't mind sharing” a voice sneered.

I looked up to see Alan leaning against a pillar, arms crossed showing he fully supported my decision without question.

Laughter erupted and then loud cheers followed by banging, “Their voices reached the ceilings, I chuckled, mission accomplished, I gestured to Kane and Alan to follow me.

Just as I stepped off, my instincts screamed, the hairs on my back stood, it felt like eyes were on me.

I turned towards it and instantly felt my breath hitch, my eyes locked with the deepest onyx eyes I had ever seen, they were staring fixedly at me.

Like I was something worth studying, I felt my body shiver subconsciously under the look, I couldn't catch a good look of the face, but I would remember if I had ever seen such eyes before, they were not someone to easily forget.

“What are you looking at?” I shook from the suddenness of the voice, startled,

“Don't do that,” I turned back towards the eyes, but they were gone, like a figment of my imagination.

“Weird.” I mumbled, “who was that?”

“Who was who?”

“Never mind.” I shook my head, “let's go.

” We walked off to where Alan and Kane waited, just outside the hall,

“You asked to see us love?” Alan was the first to speak, his blond hair glowing under the light.

“Yes, how fast can you mass produce weapons coated in touch silver?”

“Depends on how many we're talking about.”

“As much as possible to fight an army of wolves”

I replied, my lips curling, one of the things I had learnt in my three years into the future was a very peculiar weakness of wolves.

“Silver against wolves” he mused.

“Yes, and Kane can you find a herb called Wolfsbane? In large quantities, before they get here next week.

”They stared at me, surprise and curiosity filling their eyes,

“Well??” I folded my arms.

“I guess I can try, from the name I'm guessing it's another weakness against the wolves?”

“It's their Achilles Heel,” I replied coldly, “and luckily for us, I know just how to use it.”

“How do you know all this?” They looked skeptical.

Laughter tore through me, how do I explain that I came from the future without sounding mad?

“I had a dream” I replied, and Edgar isn't going to know what hit him, I can't wait to see his face when I locate his true enemies.
