2 || Blue moon

Three days had passed, and it was almost time for the moon festival to start as all the packs prepared themselves for the auspicious occasion.

The moon temple was decorated beautifully with the moonflower, ipomoea alba, along with the decorative lights covering the whole of Arthdal and the moon charms in the four regions. The north, south, east and west mainly to shield the land and guide the guardians spirits, to let them know that the land needs to be protected from harm and to keep the land alight and away from darkness.

It was needed since all the werewolves would be gathered around the moon temple for the festival.

Snow Moon Pack

"It's finally starting tomorrow. Do you think we'll be able to see the moon goddess?" Amy asked her mate as they watched their child play happily with his toys on the bed.

"I don't know love, but if you wish to see her, then call her with a pure heart, and I guess you'll be able to see her." King told his mate as he caressed her hair lovingly.

"Then I cannot wait for the moon festival to start." Amy exclaimed in excitement, and her mate laughed, looking at her being so adorable.

The Moon Festival

The next evening, all the pack members from the four different packs, gathered in front of the moon temple as their Alphas and their Lunas initiated the start of the festival when the moon shone blue and the stars aligned together.

"We thank the moon goddess for guiding us, her children and for always protecting us from harm and we, the alphas of the north south east and west stand here and pledge to protect the land, our home and our people. May the moon goddess guide us always." All the four alphas said in unison, making everyone roar and cheer our loud.

The moon festival started, and everyone took part in the celebration, enjoying themselves and the Alphas from other small packs too, mingled with the four mighty Alphas. All of them were busy dancing, singing, and paying tribute to the moon for giving them their lives.

The Lunas were enjoying themselves as well until their sons decided that they needed a nap as they were tired of being awake for such a long time so, the three Lunas made way inside one of the chambers of the moon temple and laid their pups down next to one another.

As they were about to leave the room, their steps were halted when they noticed the room illuminating and the light almost blinding their eyes. They immediately covered their eyes and took a few seconds to adjust their eyesight and focus on the glowing orb, floating in the middle of the room.

The three looked at each other in shock to verify that what they were seeing was real, and when they noticed the orb moving, they decided to instinctively follow it. They left the room after locking it and making their betas guard the door as they chased the light.

"Where did it go?" Bianca asked, looking around in confusion.

"There it is. It's going past the crowd. Can't they see it?" Amy asked in disbelief as she saw no one noticing it. Not even their mates.

"Let's follow that. Be careful." Kat said as they discreetly passed through the crowd without being noticed by their mates.

Meanwhile

Kyana was leaning against the wall of the moon temple, waiting for her friends to join her, when she saw a glowing orb floating past through the crowd and was shocked to see no one noticing it .

She decided to follow the orb and surprisingly saw her friends chasing behind it and felt glad that she wasn't the only one. When she turned around to join her friends, she couldn't find her way to them as she was suddenly surrounded by a white mist, blocking all of her vision making it hard for her to be aware of her surroundings, but she still decided to walk into it.

Gradually, she saw the mist getting thinner and thinner till it completely cleared out and was glad. She breathed in relief, thinking that she was finally out, but to her surprise, she was standing in front of a forest that she had never seen or thought existed.

It looked surreal and breathtaking, especially under the beautiful blue moon. There was a small road trail in between the forest, looking as though it had been there for years as the autumn leaves lay scattered around the road trail glistening in the moonlight and the trees stood tall complementing the moon was just too breathtaking to look at.

Kyana was too taken aback by its beauty that she hadn't realised she was already halfway through the forest and when she did come back to her senses, she looked around and couldn't remember which way she came in through.

She was lost.

The Orb

The three of them were closely following the glowing orb a few feet in front of them when Kat spoke up, "Hey! Do you guys think it's safe to follow this thing?" She asked, glancing at the two when Bianca suddenly halted and placed her arms on her waist turning to look at Kat.

"Even if it isn't, we've come too far to think twice you stale KitKat!" Bianca stated, looking at her best friend like she just stated the most dumbest thing ever.

"Yeah, yeah, stop arguing and walk. If it was something evil, it couldn't have gotten past the protection charms and obviously couldn't have gotten inside the moon temple. Dumbasses!" Amy exclaimed while pulling the two to walk.

"Hey, walk fast, or we're gonna lose it." Bianca said, walking with hurried steps.

"Maintain your distance bee." Kat said once she saw Bianca getting closer to it.

"Where did it go?" Amy asked, halting as they all looked around and couldn't find the orb anymore.

"Amy, look where we are." Kat said, tugging Amy's sleeves.

They somehow were in the middle of a forest, and only a small trail of road was what they could see ahead of them.

"Let's walk through this trail," Bianca suggested, and they all started walking for a few minutes before reaching a clearing.

"The hell! Where are we?" Kat exclaimed in frustration as she stomped her feet into the ground in frustration. They all panicked when they heard the ground, shaking, and turned towards Kat, glaring at her. "What? I didn't do anything. I just stomped my feet," she stated innocently and with a pout.

"Kat I swear, I'll force you to have a keto diet once we make it alive from here!" Bianca screamed in fear.

The ground shook horribly, and the three clutched onto each other as tight as they could, closing their eyes tight and mumbling incoherent words.

When they felt that the ground had stopped shaking, they opened their eyes reluctantly and gasped. "What on earth is this guys?" Kat asked amusedly, looking at the sight in front of them.

"I have no idea Kat. I seriously have no idea. It wasn't there before!" Amy exclaimed as she subconsciously walked through the shallow stretch of water and stepped onto the bridge. "Come on, let's go," Amy said, turning back and looking at the two with their still amused and shocked expressions. They came out of their trance and followed Amy's suit giggling.

They crossed the bridge and came to a clearing surrounded with bushes, trees, and exotic flowers. However, on the very front, stood an unusual fountain where the water water falls from the top with a bright light glowing from it, surrounded by floating rocks both big and small making everything look straight out of a fantasy world.

"I'm glad you all could make it here." A voice said from the right, making their heads snap towards the direction, and they could see something glowing in the dark.

"Do not be afraid, I won't harm you all." The voice said, coming towards them, showing itself, and the three couldn't believe what they were seeing.

They froze on their spot.
