Aria’s POV

I stood frozen, my breath ragged, fury trembling through me. I turned to see Eros still fighting the men. Blood streaked down his arm, his shirt torn across the shoulder, but his movements were still lethal, every swing of his blade, every strike of his fists precise and devastating. A man lunged at him from behind, and in a blink, Eros spun, claws flashing, raking across the attacker’s chest. The scream that tore out made the hairs on my neck rise.

But there were too many of them, so we were outnumbered. A scream tore through the night and what I saw frightened me.

Another wolf came at him with a blade glinting in the moonlight. Eros caught the strike with his bare hand, twisted, and snapped the man’s wrist like a twig. His roar echoed through the trees, primal, and terrifying. He slammed his foe into the dirt, leaving nothing but a broken heap behind.

I lunged forward, fury burning me alive. My dagger sliced through the air, catching one of them across the thigh. He h

  • Reborn for the Lycan king    I’ll finally get the truth.

Aria’s POV Eros’s face was unreadable, his aura so heavy it was suffocating. He lowered the note slowly, the weight of betrayal settling like ash across his shoulders. But me, I couldn’t move.It didn’t add up.Cassia’s trembling hands. Her wide, scared eyes. That perfect camera angle. How she was eager to help me know what Ronan was up to. The way she had knelt and giggled while helping me plan for Eros’s birthday. She didn’t look like someone plotting murder, she didn’t look like someone who has anything against the king. And the Cassia I knew, she wouldn’t have thrown her life away like this.I pressed a hand against my chest, trying to steady the storm raging there. My gaze shot to Ronan. He was too calm, like he planned this all. And when his eyes briefly caught mine across the chamber, something sharp and knowing flashed there.“No.” I muttered to myself, shaking my head frantically. Something was wrong.Cassia hadn’t poisoned herself. This was a setup. And Ronan... he was de

Aria’s POV And I was left carrying the weight of her mother’s pleas. Since her death, the chamber was thick with unease. The torches along the walls spat and flickered, painting shadows across the faces gathered around the long oak table. The elders sat in silence, their expressions grim, while Lowell stood at Eros’s side, his arms folded, his sharp eyes cutting through the restless murmurs of the guards. On the table lay the cracked vial, the poisoned cup, and Cassia’s folded apron. Each item seemed to hum with the weight of her absence.Eros had been pacing, his long strides eating up the stone floor. His aura pressed against the walls like a storm too vast to be contained. Finally, he stopped, planting his palms flat on the table.“We all know that Cassia’s death was no accident,” he said, voice low and dangerous. “And until I have the truth, no one is above suspicion.”His words rang out like a verdict. A murmur ran through the room, maids shifting nervously, guards exchanging un

  • Reborn for the Lycan king    Who killed her and why?

Aria’s POV Her father stood frozen, his fists clenched, his lips trembling though no sound came out. His shoulders shook as if every ounce of him was collapsing inward.I couldn’t breathe.I had asked Cassia to help me. I had pulled her into this. And now she was lying dead on the floor, her parents’ grief tearing through the hall like knives and I didn’t know if it had anything to do with our plans tonight. Her mother’s tear-streaked face turned suddenly toward me. She crawled the short distance until she was at my knees, clutching at the fabric of my dress. “Luna,” she cried, “please you must find who did this. I trust you, I believe in you. Please don't let her death be for nothing.”Her desperation stabbed straight through me. My throat closed, words tangling. I placed my hands over hers, trembling. “I promise,” I whispered, though the words almost choked me. “Justice will be served. I swear it.”But inside, guilt howled in me.The investigation began almost immediately.Eros w

  • Reborn for the Lycan king    She was the only child!

Aria’s POV The words punched the air from my lungs, what?!I shook my head violently. “No—no, you have to try again! Please try again!”“I’m sorry, Luna,” he said softly. “The poison was swift. She never stood a chance.”The poison? The word rang in my ears, rattling through my bones. My eyes fell back to the mug on the floor. She was killed with a poisoned coffee? My stomach churned, images tumbled too fast in my mind. Cassia’s wide smile, her chatter about Eros, the way she’d promised to help me with Ronan. My chest squeezed until I thought I might break in half.Someone killed her, and I couldn’t stop thinking about it.But who could it be?And why would they kill such an easy going person like her? Yes she talked too much, but that was it, and her talks were fun. Who could have done this… then my thoughts drifted to the last person I had seen with a cup of coffee. Ronan. He was there last night, sneaking in the shadows. He had brought me coffee himself earlier, standing

  • Reborn for the Lycan king    She’s gone!

Aria’s POV The unease sharpened. I tried the handle and it gave in easily. The room was dark, empty, the bed untouched.I stepped inside, scanning the space. No fresh clothes were missing, no sign of her apron. The lamp was still cold.“Where are you?” I muttered under my breath. “Where is cassia?”I checked the kitchens, the storage hall, even the laundry where she usually lingered just to gossip with the other maids. But she wasn’t there. The pack house was beginning to feel too quiet, too hollow. Every corridor I searched only made the hairs on my neck rise higher.By the time I circled back to the Alpha’s quarters, one thought gnawed at me so loud it was almost deafening. Cassia wasn’t the type to wander off alone. So where was she?I paced the length of the corridor, my nerves prickling. The stone floor beneath felt icy even through my boats, but the chill did nothing to cool the way I felt“Cassia?” I called again when I crossed paths with two maids carrying folded linens. But

  • Reborn for the Lycan king    Cassia is missing?!

Aria’s POV “You didn't interrupt us, not at all,” I said smoothly, though my throat was tight. “We were just talking.”Cassia bobbed her head nervously, her hands twisting in her apron. “Yes, my lord. It was just small talk.”Ronan’s smirk curved, faint, but his eyes didn’t soften. “Small talk,” he repeated, almost as if he were testing the words on his tongue. The air in the room grew thick, stifling.“Thank you for the coffee,” I said firmly, picking it up though my hands trembled. “That was kind of you.”“Anything for family,” he murmured, then lingered just a heartbeat longer than necessary before walking away. The moment the door clicked shut, I exhaled so hard my chest ached. Cassia looked at me with wide, panicked eyes.“You think he heard us?” she whispered.I pressed my lips together,“I’m not sure, but I think he didn’t else he would have confronted us about it”But suspicion clawed at me, relentless. Ronan’s sudden kindness was as chilling as a blade pressed to your back.I
