ADIRA'S POV

I took a deep breath as I got to the door. “You can do this, Adira,” I muttered to myself and knocked.

“I am coming!” I heard someone answer from inside. After a few minutes, the door opened.

The beautiful face of Jackson’s mate greeted me. Her eyes widened as she realized that I was the one. “Luna,” she said immediately and bowed. “Are you here to see my sister? She is not actually around right now,” she said.

“No, I am here to see you,” I replied with a faint smile.

“Me?” she blurted out.

“Yes. Can I come in?” I asked.

“Yes, please.” She shifted out of the way.

I entered and looked around.

“Please do not mind the mess. I am supposed to return to my pack today, so I was just packing my things, but I somehow messed up the living room,” she said with an awkward chuckle.

“It is okay. I understand. This is how I end up scattering everywhere when I need to pack or find something to wear to a place. I totally understand,” I chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.
