ADIRA'S POV

As I walked away, I tried not to think about them or what they could be doing. I dropped Lumina off at school and went straight to the library to do some research.

If there was one thing I was certain about, it was the fact that the dream I had some days back had been an indication of the sudden turmoil I have now been thrown into.

And one thing Mum said that made a lot of sense was that clearly the masquerades wanted Lumina dead. It was something I already knew also. But the question is why?

Mum and Dad had given us major reasons why the masquerades often killed people, but none of them made any sense when in Lumina's situation. So now I was left to find other reasons why they could be after Lumina’s life.

“Could the masquerades be the ones that killed us in our past life?” My wolf asked.
