My eyes widen as I see Uncle and Milena staring one another down right after she gave me the finger, for goddess knows what reason.

Fuck, I didn’t think he’d be here today. He hates these things. My stomach twists with unease as I stride across the hall.

“Uncle, this is Milena, my girlfriend. Milena, my Uncle Zade Toussaint.” I introduce them, placing my hand on Milena’s waist almost protectively.

Uncle’s gaze flicks to me, his face as unreadable as always. He may have softened a little over the years towards his mate, but he is still the ruthless, dangerous Alpha who doesn't care for rules if you cross him. He is the man in charge of destroying the Arkan, the one man I answer to when it comes to them.

He hates them with everything he is, and I don’t blame him. His attention now returns to Milena.
