The morning sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains, casting a gentle glow in the room. Arlet slowly blinked her eyes open, her hand instinctively clenched in Ruben’s. She released a warm breath, her gaze meeting his as he looked down at her. Shyly, she lowered her eyes, but he gently lifted her chin to meet his gaze again.
