The next morning

We are on our bikes getting ready to ride out. I look at my phone again. Still nothing from Merigold. My texts to her have gone unread. I look at Rowdy and he just shakes his head. I will try to call one more time this morning. Fucking voicemail. " Baby girl please just call one of us. Text. Anything. Let us explain. I miss you so much. When we get back we are going to make up for this misunderstanding. We are going to make it right by you." I put my phone on vibrate just in case she does try to call or text. I put it in the front pocket of my kutte so I'll feel it.  Yea I told her I miss her. I do and she needs to know that. She needs to know we are going to fix this and get her back.

Rowdy's phone goes off. He looks at it and shakes his head. It wasn't her. Fuck. We start our bikes and head out. Every stop we make
