For the next few days, I finally gathered all my courage to face Damian again. I just got off from my movie taping and currently heading towards our house

The house where he shamefully did his wrong doings against me

My heart's beating fast as I drove my car on my way over there. I don't know how to react after a week of hiding from him.

I also didn't know what to expect as soon as I got there. But I am afraid of going back there knowing that his mistress is probably there sitting pretty like she owned the place.

Within the distance, I immediately spotted our house. The lights on the porch are on. Which means that someone's in there.

I parked my car outside, a few meters away from the house. I paused for a moment. Preparing myself for what's about to come.

“This is it. I can do this. No more crying… face them like everything didn't bother you.” I gave myself a pep talk before walking out of my car, and entered the house.

As soon as I entered, I found Damian, his mother Victoria Miller, and his father Matthew Miller, on the living room. They looked at me like I am some kind of a ghost.

I didn't flinch, I didn't move an inch. I stared back at them, blankly.

“Giselle…” Damian murmured my name as soon as he saw me. “Y-You’re here … Thank goodness you're here!”

He immediately approached me for an embrace but I backed off before he could even touch my skin. He looks at me, his expression changes.

“Giselle…” he called my name again. His intonation changed. It's not the same when he called my name earlier

“Look who came back. Finally, you came back to your senses. Living without Damian is hard for you, isn't it?” Victoria sneered.

I ignored her. My purpose of coming here is because of my husband, not her and her stupid opinions.

“I want a divorce, Damian.” I stated. I didn't hesitate to speak directly to him. I look at him straight into his eyes without showing any vulnerable expressions.

“S-Say what?” He asked.

“I said, I want to divorce you, Damian.” I said it again.

Victoria gasps, enraged, “How dare you, you lowlife woman!” She yelled. Her husband tried to grab her arm to stop her from lashing out, but she persisted. “My son did nothing but be good to you! He made you his wife and now you want to break his heart!?”

I scoffed after hearing her words. I looked back to Damian, he tried to avoid eye contact. “So, you didn't tell your parents yet?”

“Tell us what!?” Victoria yelled again.

I was about to walk towards her but Damian stopped me as he gripped his hand on my arm. I can see how visible his rage is from his eyes. “Don't you dare…” he whispered. His words are more like a threat now, but I do not want to be silenced anymore.

I pushed his hands away from gripping my arm. I walked towards Victoria, head up high.

“Your son, Damian Miller, brought his mistress into this house and slept with her in the very room we shared.” I declared.

Victoria's jaw opened as soon as he heard it. Her husband glared at Damian, clearly frustrated and disappointed by my revelation.

The whole ambiance became awkward. I can still feel that both Damian's parents are speechless. I did what I already have to do, now it's time for me to go. I couldn't stand being inside this house anymore, knowing he already had his mistress here.

“Now, if you may excuse me.” I was about to leave when suddenly, Victoria aggressively grabbed my shoulder and slapped me hard.

I lost my balance from the sudden motion. The touch of her hands into my cheeks stings. I remained on the cold floor while I proceeded with what she did to me. This is the first time someone laid their hands on me, not even my own mother could ever do such a thing to me.

“How could you accuse my son of such nonsense!” She yelled at me, “You fucking bitch! Know your place! You came from nothing! You fucking came from nothing! Without my son, you would still be nothing! You and your useless mother should rot in hell where you both belong!”

She charged at me again, slapped me again multiple times before her husband pulled her back.

I looked at her. To the people around us. Her husband just stood there while holding her in order for her not to get her hands on me, looking like he doesn’t really know exactly what to do. Obviously, he couldn't control the crazy wife of his. While Damian didn't even bother to stop her mother from hitting me.

I scoffed. Unbelievable. He really doesn't care for me now.

I stood up, still holding my head up high. Acting like that didn't hurt me at all. I saw Victoria's expression became even more enraged.

I tried not to burst into tears while standing in front of them. “You all have a good night.” I uttered and walked out of the house.

I almost couldn't hold my tears any longer. I was about to enter my car and then suddenly, Damian walked out of the house and followed me

“Giselle, wait!” He called. I stopped, I turned around and looked at him. I didn't utter a single word. Because if I did, I would no longer control myself from crashing out. “Please, let's talk this out. Think about our careers, and our moments together. You can't just throw that away!”

“I thought about it, Damian. But, I already fixed up my mind.” I firmly stated. Suddenly, he crashes out

“What the hell is wrong with you!? Do you want me to beg right here!? Do you want me to cry and beg for your forgiveness!? Is that what you want, Giselle?!” He shouted. This is the first time I saw him this angry.

“No.” I uttered, “I don't want you to do any of those. The divorce papers have been processed. We just need to sign it.” I stated. I opened the car door and suddenly, he pushed it to close it.

“No. I will not sign those papers.” He uttered, “I won't let you divorce me!”

I gritted my teeth. What the hell does he want from me?! He cheated and now he doesn't want to let me go?!

“Damian.” I called out his name, “If you want to fool around with your mistress, go ahead. In return, we should break up. Let's not pretend we're happy in marriage anymore. Everything I uncovered is hard for me already, don't make this even harder.”

“Isla is not my mistress!” He yelled

Isla…

So, that was the name of the person he slept with

“Then what is she to you, Damian?” I asked him, but he didn't answer. I sighed, trying to calm myself down. I then pushed him aside so I could finally get away from this place.

I looked at him again before driving away, and said, “I am not changing my mind about the divorce, Damian. If you don't want to sign it, I will have no choice but to bring this matter into court.”

Cale was on the rooftop smoking his cigar when a maan in full tuxedo walked towards him. “Mr. Sullivan, here's the information you asked us to find.” The man stated. Cale just turns his head at him with cold eyes. His gaze landed on the envelope that the man was handing to him. Cale stomped on his cigarette after he dropped it, and grabbed the envelope from the man's hands. “Is this everything?” he askedThe man simply nodded, “Yes, sir.”He immediately opened the envelope and took his time to read everything on the paper. “Damian Miller… Isla Everhart… Victoria Miller…” Cale uttered as he scanned the papers. “Hmm… interesting…”“We also found out that Victoria Miller has a cheating background back before she got married to her current spouse, Matthew Miller.” The man added“Cheating, huh? Seems like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.” Cale grins. “How'd you find it?” He asked “It wasn't easy, sir. Victoria Miller isn't a celebrity, so her information is very private. But w

After a late night of work, I was about to go home when I noticed Cale right there in the parking lot. He's sitting on the hood of his car while scrolling through his phone. “Hey,” I called to get his attention. He immediately looked in my direction and smiled. “Hey,” he said and walked towards me. I was about to ask him a question about what he was doing here, hanging out in the parking lot by himself, when he abruptly gestured with his hands, “May I carry your things for you?”“Uhm…” That was the only word I could utter as I stared at his hands. I was completely speechless by his actions. I know I agreed to see him for a social experiment, but this is quite sudden for me. He slightly tilted his head, looking at me confused. I awkwardly smile, “I got this. Don't worry.” “No, it's okay.” He insisted, “The only thing I could do to fulfill my role is to make everything look convincing. How else will you make your husband furious if our ‘affection’ doesn't look realistic?” I blinked

I frowned when I saw Isla and Damian on a billboard ad. I know they're doing promotions together but I couldn't look at them the same when I know what already happened between them. Up until this day, I kept thinking about the time I saw them on our bed. It's hard to move on when you know to yourself that memory will forever haunt you for the rest of your married life. I looked at Cale's card again. It's been a few days. I know I refused at first but after hearing what Damian said to me during the gala, I gave it a lot of thought and consideration. I will accept Cale's offer. Not because I wanted to, but because I want to prove Damian wrong that I am not his leftover. I am no one's left over.I stopped in front of a huge building. I looked at the card to confirm that I’m in the right address. This is probably where Cale works. Come to think of it, I never knew his occupation. He's probably one of the employees here or something, because why would he give this exact address if h

I received an invitation for the exclusive gala. The host and organizers only select a few celebrities and, fortunately, I am part of it. These types of parties are a great opportunity to meet new people and to increase your social status in the entertainment industry. A lot of famous people are invited here too. For instance, veteran actors and actresses, top models, fashion designers, singers, and even producers. They held these kinds of galas every year. Since it's exclusive, I can't even bring a plus one. But it would be nice to bring Ellie with me if I had a chance. Days passed by, and I arrived at the venue. I only saw a few paparazzi around. They took photos before I went inside. The lights are glowing in a vintage way. I greeted every single one I knew as soon as they noticed me. “Giselle! So glad you made it!” Alexandria Chepliev greeted me, she's the main reason why such galas existed in the first place. She owns a huge business empire throughout the country, especially

“I’m saying you can use me to get over your cheating husband.” he stated, which left me defenseless and utterly speechless. Is he being serious right now?I laughed at his words. I can't tell whether he's joking or not, but his statement is hilarious. “You can't be serious.” I uttered and drank the cold water in front of me after laughing hysterically “What if I am?” He uttersI looked at him. My expression changes when I realized he is really not kidding around just to tease me “I don't mind being used as a rebound,” he grins, “And since he cheated on you, why won't you give him a taste of his own medicine?”“I— I can't do that,” I stated. I can't just use someone even if they insist. “It's up to you. But if you change your mind, you can give me a call.” he utters and gave me a card with his details and phone numberI hesitated, but it feels like my hands have a mind of its own. All I know is his card is already in my hand. “Please tell me you're just joking,” I stated, “This is

  • Reclaiming My Life   CHAPTER 14

I stared at myself in the mirror as I fixed my make up and hair. I am wearing a casual yet elegant looking outfit for my dinner with Cale. The memories where I went on my first date with Damian often came to mind. And I hate the fact that I kept remembering it. My phone pings abruptly so I picked it up to check my notifications. It's just random people tagging and privately messaging me. Some are asking for my side of the story and some are just plainly hating me. I turned my phone to ‘do not disturb’ and shut it down. Victoria has already done a lot of damage to my image. And I don't think she'll stop anytime soon. My heart sank as I thought of it. All of this happened to me because I trusted and loved my husband.I placed my phone on the drawer so I won't be tempted to look at it and see what people are gonna say about my issue. Tonight, I wanted to know everything about myself, even though there's another person involved. I have to keep in mind that I'm going to dinner with C
