Olivia's POV Damien responded to my question with silence. I scoffed, I couldn't believe it. “You told him, already?” “I did not tell him anything but what if I had? Where is the crime in that?” he asked me. “He's been through a lot already. He needs time to…” “Time for what? When will it ever be the right time to tell him that I am his father and not Simeon?” he demanded, he had tears in his eyes but it did not stop me from uttering my next words. “Never. There would never be a right time, Damien. The day I ran away from you to preserve the life of my son, I promised myself that you would never get the chance to call him son just like you would have denied me the opportunity of knowing my only child if you had killed him,” I knew my words would cut him deeply but that was the purpose. I wanted him to know that he had messed up and there was no going back from that. He would have to live with the consequences of his actions for the rest of his life.“Olivia? Please, I am trying,
Olivia's POV “You couldn't just say no?” The shock was evident in his face and in his voice. I was shocked too because my mind had actually cooperated with my body to do as I had willed it. “Mum?” Meanwhile, Jeremy had only happiness as an emotion to see me functional. I could see them now and even though Damien was still reeling from the slap, I was happy to see my son. “How long have I been out for?” the question was directed at the both of them but it was Jeremy who answered me, “a fortnight.” “What?” I sat up top quickly which I shouldn't have as my body felt the impact of my words all at once. My body which I could not feel before now felt like I had activated a thousand pins within it.“What's wrong mum? Are you in a lot of pain?” asked Jeremy, looking at me with worry filled eyes. “I’m okay,” I lied but Damien knew at once that I was not telling the truth, “I'll get the doctor,” he said. “The same doctor who told you I had only a couple days to live? Or the one who said
Damien’s POV “Where the hell is she?” my hands were wrapped around Prinsca's neck. I was in no mood for being played today. She could not talk but she pointed in the direction of an old looking wardrobe in the room. I loosened my grip on her neck and she began coughing hard. “Where is Olivia?” I demanded. She did not answer me, she only walked over to the wardrobe and opened it. Inside the wardrobe was a door that led to a small passage and at the end of it was a wooden door.“There,” Prinsca pointed at the wooden door. She brought out a key and unlocked the door. Without wasting more time, I pushed her aside and opened the door. Olivia was lying on the floor, her body still and cold to touch. Olivia's POV My head was in fire and I was trapped in it. I couldn't get out, I couldn't scream, I was trapped in my body. “Olivia? You have to wake up,” I could hear Damien's voice, although it sounded distant. Someone was holding my hand too, my right hand and I guessed it was Damien o
Damien's POV I lurched at her before I even realized what I was doing. The rage I had tried so hard to bury within me suddenly erupted as I slammed Prinsca against the stone wall, my hand gripping her throat as I stared into her terrified eyes.“You buried her alive, didn't you?” I growled, my voice trembling with fury. “What did you bastards do to her?”“Damien, stop!” Austin’s voice cut through my angry voice as he yanked me backward with all his strength.I let go of her, my hand shaking as I stepped away. She coughed, leaning against the wall, but she did not cry out or beg for mercy. She just looked at me with something akin to fear which was good. I wanted her to be afraid of me. “You think I want her dead?” she said hoarsely. “I’m trying to survive just like the rest of you. You do not have to trust me but you’ll never find her without me.”Austin stood between us now, his hand was on the hilt of his sword as his gaze shifted between us. “Think,” he snapped at me. “You kill
Damien's POV“You should’ve kept him alive until he showed us where he is keeping Olivia and Jeremy,” Austin said with a sigh as Reuben’s corpse collapsed to the ground. I wiped the sweat off my brow with my hand. Morning was yet to come and already I was soaked with sweat. “I can lead you to them,” a feminine voice pierced through. I had heard the voice before and I knew that it belonged to Reuben's sister. “How about I lead you to where your brother is right now?” I asked her, I could see her shiver slightly at the tone of my voice. “Then you will never see Olivia again,” she said with a voice that told me she meant it. I smiled a little, I could see why Albert had fallen for her. “Where is she? and Jeremy?” asked Austin. “I will take you to them after we sign a blood oath,” she said in a firm tone. She was not going to take no for an answer. “A blood oath?” I scoffed.“Yes, a blood oath,” she replied. I could see fear in her eyes but she did her best to remain confident.
Olivia's POV I clutched it tightly and made my way to the wardrobe. It was heavy, but I pushed it aside with slow, determined force. Behind it was a small, square iron door, almost invisible against the wall. I slipped the key into the lock and it turned. The door creaked open, revealing a dark, narrow passage that led to another wooden door at the far end.I stepped inside, careful not to make a sound, and pulled the iron door shut behind me. Then I locked it from the inside. The air inside the room was cold and musty. I walked forward and entered the small space Prinsca had described. It was barely large enough to sit down in, but there was a blanket, a bottle of water, and what looked like a crust of bread in a dish.Just as I turned to inspect the wooden door, I heard it. There was a click from the other side of the wall and a bolt sliding into place. Someone had locked it from the outside. Then I heard her voice.“I’ll come back for you when Damien arrives. You’re safe now.”Now
