Olivia’s POV

The full moon festival was in full swing. I had planned everything at the last minute but it was still perfect. I remembered that when Someone had first brought me to his pack, Prinsca had been responsible for planning the events at the palace. When I became Luna, she refused to give that up.

“What possible knowledge can an ordinary omega have about hosting events at a palace?” had been her response when I had told her that year that since I was Luna, it my duty to gist the festival. What Prinsca did not know was that I had been Alpha Damien’s lover and so I had helped him plan several balls as he had no Luna.

“If I fail to do it right you can host the events for the next five years,” I had said to her to which she had scoffed. She was convinced that I would ruin the event. I had begun planning that year and when it was obvious that I was doing a good job, she had tried to sabotage my event. Fortunately, Reuben had told me about her plans and I had been able to avoid t

Simeon’s pov“What the fuck is this?” I demanded and at the sound of my voice all of the maids dispersed. “I'm doing what you cannot do, plan the festival,” came her sassy response. “This is my palace and I did not…” “Your palace?” she scoffed, “you lowly omega,” she gave a short cruel laughter and continued, “what? your history is public knowledge.” “So?” I stared her dead in the eye. I wanted her to know that she did not intimidate me. Even if she was sleeping with my husband, I was not afraid of her. “You must learn your place. You are only a filthy omega,” she returned in a menacing tone. “I am your Luna!” I screamed at her but she only laughed as though I had told a joke. She stepped back from me and pointed at Helen, “I think some mashed potatoes would be appropriate for the festival, you will…” “She will do nothing you tell her because I run this place, Helen? Return to your station now! The same goes for the rest of you,” I ordered the servants while staring Prinsca do

Olivia's pov“They have an excellent program for young children,” added Thatcher as an incentive. It would be nice to put Jeremy through a school like that but first I would have to discuss it with Simeon. I doubted that he would be opposed to such an idea but I could not have been more wrong. When I broached the subject with him after he had returned from his council meeting, he flipped completely. “No, Jeremy cannot go there,” he was suddenly full of anger when I mentioned it. I wondered if it was because he was opposed to the idea or if something had happened at the Council that had made him furious. He was usually in a bad mood after such meetings but Reuben had told me earlier that the ban on our cotton trade had been lifted so I had taken that to be a sign that he was in an amiable mood. “It's a good school, you went there yourself,” I tried to make him see reason but he was not interested in listening to me. He was too upset to see any reason in what I was saying. “He's too

Olivia's POV While Simeon was away on a Council meeting with the other Alphas, I was forced to spend my time with some ladies at a tea party. It was dreadfully boring and at every point I yawned to not to show that I was bored but I really was. I was looking for the quickest way to leave the tea party. I could not endure one more second of their dreary talk about the weather which had been the centre of conversation for the past fifteen minutes. “The Luna looks rather bored, I take it our discussion of the weather does not fascinate you,” remarked Prinsca. I allowed a smile to stretch on my lips as I replied to her with, “it is a most fascinating topic, the weather.” Even though I meant to say that it was a rather dull one. Who wanted to discuss the weather? Winter had begun and it was rather harsh this year and would be even more so in consequent days but there was no usefulness in explaining the weather in such lengths as though it were the most important thing in the world. “Per

Simeon's POVI stared at Damien with hard and unwavering eyes. He sat opposite me in the council room, giving me a pleading look, while still trying not to appear weak in front of other Alphas.I scoffed in annoyance, taking my gaze away from him. Usually, I hated having to come to these meetings, but it was inevitable as trade and other matters brought us together. Then, today, I had a purpose for being here.We were all waiting patiently for the session to begin. The clerk shuffled through papers of the agenda today. I waited with bated breath, looking at the clerk—wondering if my petition was going to come first and what the verdict would be.The clerk cleared his throat and began. "The first agenda and proposition is from Alpha Simeon of the Black Thorne pack. To allow Black Thorne to trade cotton again to help them recover from war.""I second the proposition," Alpha Damien said immediately as if he had been waiting for the clerk to speak, as if he already knew what the clerk was

Damien's POVThe deer looked back but did not move, her ears were lifted up. She was listening to check if what she had heard was danger or just the wind. The next minute was crucial, I had to remain still so as not to alert her of the danger she was in. I exchanged glances with Austin's wolf, we were communicating through our minds. I'll attack in five seconds. She will make a run for it. I'm faster than she is. I counted and when I got to five I kept forward in the direction of the deer. She wasted no time either as she ran knowing that her life was in imminent danger. She never once looked back but she knew that she had to run, she also knew that it was futile but she ran anyway hoping that she could tire me out if she ran long enough or at least she could actually escape. She was running so fast that she did not take into account the tree in front of her. She crashed into it and I could tell from the impact that she was wounded. She cannot move. Austin's wolf said. I'll tak

Damien's POVThe clouds had darkened by the time I returned home. I was angry and frustrated and I needed someone to blame, someone I could transfer my aggression on. And I found that person when I got to my palace. Austin, my Beta. “I take it things did not go well,” he said the second he saw me. He was one of the few people who could read me well.“You said I needed to show love, well, you know what happened? He only saw it as a weakness. He laughed at me! Me?” I was boiling with rage. I looked around me for something to punch, I drove my fists into the nearest wall and it drove a hole right through it. Austin said nothing. He was waiting for me to cool off by myself but I was beyond that. “You have shown Olivia that you're sorry and…” “The next place my fist will land is on your face, Austin!” I spat angrily. I had listened to his counsel and I only wound up being insulted.“Did you see Jeremy?” he asked me, ignoring my threat. He knew it was just what it was, a threat and I w

Simeon's POV "A truce?" I asked, raising my brows while shaking my head. "You're so fucking funny, Damien. I know that you have no reason to give me a truce. I know that you hate me with everything in your blood. But please, at least, do this one time.""And why exactly should I give you a truce? What have you done for me that I would give you a truce?" Damien asked.I had to ask myself—remember, Damien, after everything that he had done, both to Olivia, Jeremy, and then to my pack? This was the same man that had sent Alpha Orion to come and attack me, and yet he was here, begging for a truce."I just need to be at peace with you. Think about it. My pack has a lot to offer, and your pack will greatly benefit from the truce if we have one," Damien said."I don't need anything from you, Damien," I told him squarely. "It's so stupid that you dared to come here after everything you've done.""I know I can't change the past," he said."But you can't change the past. Exactly!" I snapped. "

“Of course, but if you ever change your mind, I will be here.” I watched her put on her clothes after that and walk out of the door. I breathed a sigh of relief once she had left my study. Prinsca was trouble—she was beautiful trouble and I could not afford to stray just yet. A knock on the door drove me out of my reverie. I instructed the person to come inside and strolled in Reuben, Prinsca’s brother. “Is something the matter?” I asked him. “Alpha Damien is here to see you,” he said to me. “Alpha Damien? What the fuck does he want?” I asked, angry at the idea of his very existence. I had thought that I had made my position very clear with the man. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with him and there was no way I was going to allow him to worm his way into Jeremy's life now. Could he not see that it was too late for that? He had wanted Olivia to have an abortion when he had found out about her pregnancy and now he wanted them back? “Send him back, I have no intention of seeing
